A neat feature is the light in the side of the trunk/boot. It pops out and you can use it as a torch.

Are these hidden features in part 1 and 2 specific to the SEL? I know a few are like the power lift gate.
Great videos I learnt a few things I’d missed. I’m not sure if there’s a solution to this challenge but it’s worth asking. I’ve got a 7 seater 2019 162 r-line Tiguan and while the storage is great there doesn’t appear to be a cargo mat the completely seals the floor. The cavities on each side of the spare tire cover have things fall down there and with a young family finding socks, shoes or anything small. Is there a rubber cargo mate or cups I can buy to put in the cavities?
How about the various modes in the reverse camera. The perpendicular park cam, the parallel park cam, the wide angle cam and the tow hitch cam. I don't tow and have no trouble with parallel park but it seems pretty useful for those who tow or have trouble with parallel park or driving out of a driveway.
Does the trunk feature also work on SE models?

I recently went to VW dealership in Atlanta and they did a free software update. I didn't have Think Blue initially but it was added with the software update. I don't know if anyone does or don't have Think Blue, but you can get the update if you don't have it. It's pretty nice teaches you to save gas and take a easy on the environment. It gives you a score and make suggestion to drive better, save gas and get a higher score.

Another cool feature, If you're not at home the engine will remain running or stay in stop/start mode while you're Tiguan is in park, however; if you set up your profile with your address your vehicle will know when it's at home and will shut down in about 2 minutes when you remove your foot from the brake automatically. Cool neat little feature.

The card slot is a place to keep the card for car parks which need a proximity card - often am issue for company car parks.

Good information but on the navigation it wasnt clear what you was pressing also wasnt clear were those coin compartments were I'm supposed to have the latest tiguan but I only have 1 button in the boot . I do have the new navigation screen also like a step bar on mine

How about the ambient lighting around the moonroof. I hear the dealer disable it due to it shorting out in humod climates? Something like that.
That is true, I have the LED ambient lighting around the moonroof (I checked) but it's disable. I have the first half of the 2019 Tiguan which is why I have the lighting install, the newer Tiguans no longer have the lighting. VW here in Atlanta told me they may offer the lighting as a accessory and will test some locations. I want my lights turned on since the issue has been fixed I'll let you know if they activate them.

Didn't know what to buy when I was looking to replace my old oil burner either a RAV4 or Tiguan I couldn't afford a new model of either so it was a 3or 4 years old on both cars I really liked the Tiguan but trying to get one here in the uk with cruise control was very difficult so ended up with the Toyota the next door neighbour has a 2019! Tiguan so I'll ask her what she thinks about it and post it up

You can have full screen nag in 2018 version. You have to press view, not the ok button

just received my tiguan last monday, a "key" features you should mentionned is above personnalisation attached to each key, wich allow within a family that both key are owned by a single person, who will retreive his profile automatically when unlocking the car with his personnal key
to activate this, go on personnalisation, bottom of page, set as manual, assign a key on active profile, change profile, assign other key, then set to Automatic
no need to change the profile on dashboard next time you'll switch of key to unlock the car, it will set all associated settings to the registered profile associated to the key
no more frustration when seating on your car that your wife used it last day and changed your seat settings and radio is playing romantic music ;)

I can't get the artwork or pictures of my music to display on the car radio when connecting via bluetooth. I have a Tiguan 2019 SLE Premium. How can I fix that?
Good question. I haven’t been able to either! 😞
Honestly through VW bluetooth you want be able to do that. Only a few car companies have built in artwork like Ford and Lincoln, it will find the art or put up a generic picture. But since you have Android Auto or Apply Carplay install you can get all your album artwork through your music provider (Amazon Music, Spotify, I-Tunes, etc). If you have Android Auto the new update is awesome, looks great album artwork is always there.
pdimmakis have no problem there on my ‘19 SLE. Both via Bluetooth iTunes and via Car play.
pdimmakis, it does on Spotify, but only in some albums, not all. Seems to be a Spotify issue, not the VW audio system
Just bought a new 2019 Highline 3 weeks ago moving up from an Alltrack and absolutely love it except for one thing......it needs an ECU flash for more engine performance!!
One tip I found, if you need a quick way to view the total mileage, turn off the cruise control on the steering wheel and it will show total mileage. Turn cruise back on and display goes out.

Oh, wish that VW would have an App for the 2019 Tiguan for starting, locking doors etc...VW is behind there.
Just picked up my 2019 tiguan r line tech. UK and is missing the second button for the boot auto close. Found out it's been replaced by putting your foot under the rear when its open, you will hear it beeping walk away with the key & it auto closes.. shame it's missing the start by key feature though 😭. Also to open or close the windows by the key the setting needs be turned on in convince setting.
Hi guys, I have lane keep assist activated, and the digital dash shows when my car is starting to steer off lane. However, it doesn’t correct my steering wheel by steering it back into the lane. Any idea?
It’s a hit or miss system.... typically it doesn’t work well unless you have nice clean painted lines on both sides of the road!

Andrew Li there’s a setting called dynamic lane assist on my tiggy which actively keeps it centred in lane. Without this on the car only corrects when you actually begin to stray onto the lines.
Need to be 40mph+ for it to activate aswell

Aisin makes transmissions for Toyota. They are much better quality.
David Cave just as I guessed👍🏻 VW cannot afford the warranty and poor customer feedback relating to DSG!
My wife purchased a brand new 190ps Tiguan R-Line 4 Motion in March 2017 RRP £44,000 GBP
Within 300 miles she noticed a metallic grating noise from the DSG gearbox. She notified VW who although recognised the noise confirmed they had never come across it before but it was a ‘characteristic’, basically they did not want to know!!
She appointed DEKRA and the Motor Ombudsman who confirmed the noise was not acceptable and the car not of satisfactory quality but VW still refused to accept.
We instigated legal proceedings in December 2018 which is still ongoing, in the meantime, my wife continues to pay her HP payments to VW, servicing costs, insurance and GAP and her car has not been driven since August 2017 having recorded only 3,000 miles!
My wife made a sound recording which she uploaded to CZcams, it has had 6,000 views and countless comments from other Tiguan owners who are experiencing the same issue and poor customer aftercare from VW!😤

Contact your dealer
In order to get software updates you'll need to take it to the dealership. I have a 2019 Tiguan Premium R Line and they did a software update (it's free) to include Think Blue now. I didn't have that when I originally bought the car it's pretty nice, you can display anytime by pushing the CAR button.
MY19 digital dash = Audi Q7 digital dash
Audi's digital dash is much nicer. They are not going to allow VW to have nicer ones. Does VW even have Goggle Earth? It is amazing. Have to pay for it but is fun especially when you zoom out to be looking at planet Earth. Hopefully Audi will bring back MMI swivel wheel which is so easy to use. They are phasing out so that models like 2020 A4 is touch screen. Higher models already touch screen.

I had a 2020 tiguan sel and just traded it, it developed a vibration and a Dealership in Joliet IL, where I bought it , claimed there was nothing wrong and found that I need to use my turn signal cause the steering wheel would vibrate. Well it didn't have lane keep assist and if it did ,LKA doesn't become active till 40 mph. I can't own a vehicle with a problem and take it too the VW dealer and be told crap like this. Never will I ever buy another VW if that's the Techs they have.

I just bought a used 2020 SE and most of this stuff is crap. My ride has AWD and leatherette seats, but not much else. I love it tho....solid ride.

I love your videos. Very helpful. I have the 2019 SEL Premium/R-Line (new digital display). What I am trying to find is if there is a way to have time/clock show on the screen behind steering wheel. That's number one. NUMBER 2.... does anyone know how to get the clock on the center display? I saw it online, but cannot figure it out at all.
I would love to have the time/clock showing on both displays or at least on the main/center display. Here's a link showing one version (this is on a model before the new digital display was installed):

drh1064 The newer digital cockpits (with a dedicated, non-digital temperature on the left, fuel on right) have no way to add the clock. The original digital cockpits in 2018s did have it. That’s a big miss for me. The large, analog-style clock in the 2nd photo is shown when you turn off the multimedia display. You can swipe through various clock styles, but all else is turned off.

Bought a new Tiguan in March done 1030mls and had to get a new Engine fitted under warranty .Manufacturing fault .Customer service from VW diabolical and also the 'Retailer.

Your worst inuwbe a 2019. Take your apple iPhone 12 or 13 peo pligvir into the IWB under the screen and then you can have your card Navi. Plus you can send and receive texts all using your voice never touching the phone. So it will say “Ryan said it hen will you be home “ Hannah said by 530. Then I get a audio text that says by 530
Never liked the digital dashboard, i prefer two, physical large analog dials.
The best feature is that it keeps polluting but will pass emissions testing ;)
