- Throughout the video, you'll see shafts of varying sizes being machined, as we tackle different projects. Although the dimensions differ, the meticulous process remains consistent

I know two guys that work at machine shops that run the old manual machines that these guys do. Everybody else all run CNC/computer stuff. The guys that run manual machines will be in high demand one day. THANKS!
@12:00 - the runout on that chuck! OMG! :D
Got a piece of cardboard jammed into the morse taper to stop the drill chuck slipping !
I understand why they use these old machines, but given their skill level what I don't understand is why they don't keep the machine tools in better shape.
They simply make do with what they have because the shop owner is either too frugal or machinist supplies cost more than would be feasible to purchase given what they are paid for such jobs
They use water as a lubricant.
@@donniecardwell3786 yeah, they could clean the swarf from the mill. They could oil the ways of the lathe etc.
I really enjoy watching skilled people making high quality parts on machines that would be considered obsolete in the USA!
Minim safety..
Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'precision engineering'
🤣
I wonder what the accepted tolerances are there coming out of that workshop 😊? Have to be measured in mm not thous
Remote the swarf from the worksite , Kurtis at Cutting Edge Engineering could definitely give these people some efficiency pointers
Good work. :-)
A clean work environment COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, Filthy everywhere
Time = money = costs something.
INTERESTING! I hardly see any comments on this channel. I actually work for a machine tool builder and we also still use this vintage machines. Guess I stirred up things a little 😊
new OSHA approved Carhart open toe sandals!!
12.00...very interesting...using fly cutter mount on the chuck
Precisão absoluta !!
How do you like their hydronic press, drop a big weight from the ceiling.
Is sweeping the floor or fixing the bent shaft on the mill beyond their intelligence level? @32:20 Spike Milligan makes an appearance.
excellent!
With all the cheap labor available you would think the place would at least be as clean as workshops in other countries. They are assembling gearboxes on dirt floors and fans blowing dust everywhere. I know it is a poor country but clean machine shop practice costs nothing. I won't even go near the topic of safe work practice. Even when that shaft was running on the live center it should still have had the support roller frame installed.
7:48 -> Handmade seal of approvement :)
You turn so slowly you gonna stall that lathe..
how much is a pair of safety shoes worth in this country. I don't understand how you can work with sandals in a steel factory
Das ist deren kleinstes Problem
At 25:40 I hold my breath😮😮😮😮
It's not the machines that are obsolete it's the country
It's not too much money in the country
But they have money for keeping a developing their nuclear arsenal.
@@danielbrstak5730 believe me, it is much cheaper to keep and develop a nuclear arsenal than not to have one. I’m telling you this as a Ukrainian from my own experience.
@@dmytromykhailychenko5400 but this is not about politics, nuclear profilerations , Russia vs Ukraine etc. This is about greedy factory owner who don't want to buy their workers even a proper safety boots . Please look at 25:40 . I was terrified.
Looks like equipment that the Brits left behind.
😯😯
Very little regard given for human safety or life itself in these countries , if a person is killed or maimed another person replaces them and life goes on as if nothing happened!
Chi fa lavorare la gente in queste condizioni va arrestata
Nope they make a mockery of the word skilled
Is it me or is the sound kinda squealing a lot. Had to watch with no sound on.😢😮
Arbeitsschutz ist total überbewertet 😂
Put some Glasses on please. Even if I had perfect eye sight. Would still have safety glasses on. I saved my eye by having safety glasses on.
Not impressed. They can do better
100 ys old technology my ass , this is the same today , just carbide cutting materials and lots of cooling , to make one offs , only for series production one goes digital !! THIS IS NOT SERIES PRODUCTION ! Have to conceede though , shapers are today replaced , in 90% of the cases. replaced by milling machines.
