As a chef, during a quiet period we were making up names for fish restaurants. A giggle was had, kipper canal, crew crevice, monkfish mound, anchovy alley, salmon strip and many more, yes the waitress thought we were taking the piss but it made ys laugh. The inner workings of a chefs mind

There is a chip shop in Bosworth called the batter of Bosworth.
We had a Chinese takeaway in Portsmouth called Woks Wong. It amused me every time I went past it 😅

Fryer Tucks is a very common name for a chip shop. There's one near me in St Merryn, Cornwall.
Prices are higher here. My local is £8. 30 for an OAP (small) take away, but it's more than enough for me.
Now I know why chip shops offer bread and butter. It always struck me as an odd thing to have with fish and chips.
Nice to see 3 generations of a family enjoying eachother's company.

I havn't been in a Fish & Chip shop for a few years now.
The last time i went for a Sausage dinner i refused to pay the obscene prices for
a large sausage, a few chips and some peas £6.95, that is obscene!
It will probably be £10 by now which makes your two meals look very reasonable.
Please keep the food VLOGS going, we don't have to wait for your car to charge!

Watched a TV programme called The Motorway yesterday, a Tesla In an accident on the M6, the motorway patrol guys had to wait for a special transport to clear it away, they are not allowed to touch electric vehicles for fear of fire or explosion!!

Decent price for decent food in a nice clean establishment when you compare it with some of the dodgy cafes/supermarket restaurants you have frequented. What gets my goat is when some places have mint-flavoured mushy peas and not the normal ones. I'll give this a 9 and it is great to see the return of Paige. 👍

I had a great one in Eyemouth in Scotland in June. Haddock was superb and NO food miles. Straight from trawler to wholesaler on quayside to pub, more like food YARDS 😂
We had the same tonight! Chips were fluffy on the inner lol and the batter was crispy😂❤
Tartar or cocktail sauce goes great with fish. The cocktail sauce has some zing as its made with horseradish.

The Cod Fathers Plaice was a Chip shop near me.

All you need to know about chip shops is that the fish should be fresh and definitely never frozen fish. Frozen at sea doesn’t let the seawater drain from the flesh and so the water expands when frozen and damages the texture.
I don’t know why some English chippies leave the skin on the haddock? Cod is ok but doesn’t have the flavour of haddock but it must be skinned. Since almost all haddock and cod in the UK are landed in Lerwick, Scrabster, Kinlochbervie and Peterhead the best fish shops will be supplied directly from these ports. Frozen at sea will mostly come from Iceland and Norway. It’s nowhere near the quality.
There’s one in Stoke called the Codfather 🤷🏻♂️

It is so good to see you refreshed after your awful EV experience with Geoff buys cars when it nearly finished you off. I loved the banter between you and Paige. She is a star. The food looked lovely. The fish looked really nice. The place itself looked good and well worth a visit. I will pay it a visit if i am ever in Sutton I assume the price you quoted at the end was for both meals and that
puts Tom Kerridge the Chef £37.00 for a tiny fish and 9 chips, at Harrods I think it is, to shame. I look forward to more of these quality vids Lee and Paige.

Looked nice, decent portions and the price was very reasonable - especially to sit in restaurant, I’ve read on FB people paying well over £30 for similar but for take out 😮

Used to go that chip shop when the proper market was on and Sutton was a great town used to be pubs was great night out on Sunday.the baths most my family worked there so spent all my childhood in there the old pool used to double up as a boxing ring. Obviously all our family functions was held there as it cost us newt

When I lived in Mousehole, Cornwall, it was rumored that Rick Stein was going to buy one of our locals, The Coastguard Inn, which would have ruined it. I said that if he did I'd pay him back by opening a chippy in Padstow and calling it Rich Swine's. BTW, nice looking, proper northern cod and chips.
