Very interesting commentary, thank you. I was walking there today and i found a very old lead pipe coming through the sand which was loosely encased in a rotting pottery like material and the pipe is filled with a black material so quite heavy. Part of an anchor maybe or ballast. What do you think, it was towards the Seaton Sluice end of the beach. Thank you.
My guess is that it's part of the ww2 installations that were dotted all over the beach and dunes. You can find all sort of interesting things on that stretch of beach!
when did you walk along there ? and where all the old bottles cracked or were some still ok? i love old bottles and i live in blyth im having a walk up to tynemouth on thursday so could you tell me which part those bottles were on please ☺
