Blyth Battery Goes to War - 2023

The Battery at Blyth has stood guard at the mouth of the river Blyth in Northumberland for more than a century. It’s an impressive array of buildings that acted as a lookout, armaments, storage and an assembly point during World War 1, the Battery also boasted two six-inch guns for coastal defense. This weekend, May 20 & 21, the Battery hosted two days of exciting historical activities and reen...

Charlie's Garden, Seaton Sluice, Northumberland. Just having a play with the new drone (DJI Mavic 3 Pro). I wanted to test out the three cameras, all of which have different magnifications. This short film was photographed from the same drone height. 'Charlie's Garden' is a sea stack, just off the Seaton Sluice shore. It's famed for at one time having an actual garden on top of it, tendered by ...

Seaton Sluice and the 900 Foot Cut - a brief history
zhlédnutí 19KPřed 2 lety
Seaton Sluice is a small seaside village in the southeast corner of Northumberland, England. This video tracks the rise and fall of its harbour and explores the clues to its past that still remain. This is by no means an extensive deep-dive into Seaton Sluice's past, but hopefully it has enough in it to pique the viewer's interest, and set them on a historic journey of their own. Thanks has to ...

The circular indentations are the rear part of hay racks. The semi circular feature I've heard is the remains of a covered walkway so exercise could be taken.

  • @anthonybarstard7050

Very interesting, I spent many happy hours around this area in the 1950s, it was very overgrown then, camped near the fresh water well/spout. I had a clinker built boat called The Turbot which we used to row out to fish for codling etc at 12 to 13 yrs of age.
