@@kevinGonzalez-GOD777What the actual heck does that mean? If you're asking whether it only works on a laptop that depends on the usb port speed, obviously. Generally, laptops have faster USB speeds than most if not all phones
The test you did is compromised. If you moved the same exact file, windows caches it and thus the second time will be faster. You should of done another file of the same size
Is it possible that the OS has cached some of the files in RAM during the first transfer, giving the second transfer a slight edge? Can you try again with the first drive after transferring to the second drive?
Their ssd not hard drive or hard disk. Fhe reason hard drives are called hard is because it refers to the stiff nature of the spinning platter in a hard drive that stores data. This was in contrast to the floppy disks which you guessed it stored data on a floppy like not stiff disk. In an ssd the name solid state refers to the fact it has no moving parts whereas a mechanical hard drive has an actual spinal that moves on the disk similar to vinyl. Drive just means a form of storing data so hard drive solid state drive flash drive floppy drive etc. Also unlike a hard drive/hard disk or a blue ray or cd/dvd or even a sloppy an ssd does not contain any disk like snap inside it’s a bunch of chips on an electronic board. We have gum shaped and sized nvme drives and larger 2.5” or 3.5” ssd.
When using a thunderbolt 3 or USB4 connection yes the interface could handle up to 40Gbps but the fastest Gen 4 NVMe drives on the market can only reach about 7-10Gbps but if these drives are SATA then they would top out around 6Gbps
My thunderbolt cases run around 3-3.6tb/s, i can’t see how this is any faster as there’s nothing faster for transfer over usb etc. they do run hot so maybe the casing is good for heat dissipation 🤷♂️
I have also this t7 but on my iPad it works perfectly but when I connect it to my laptop which has windows is trash, it connects so hard I need to restart my laptop in order to see it, and it s slow on loading but fast if I transfer something... any ideas why or what external SSD should I buy next? this one is almost full
True. but for close to half the duration for transfer speeds it’s a pretty good upgrade for someone who does this as a job such as a photographer or videographer. And with tech it’s usually not the case that if you spend 2x as much it’s not usually or ever gonna be 2x as good
t9 is kindof useless because you need a gen 2x2 port and most of us don't have one of those, it's incompatible with thunderbolt. You need a thunderbolt ssd enclosure if you want to go faster than 1gb/s
Nvm its thunderbolt so no camer a s directly basically..idk what camera has thunderbolt..bmpcc have 3.2 usb amwhich sucks i have thunderbolt on my machine...idl what else id get it for

Yeahhhh pointless video
I'd prefer longevity over speed
SSD stands for Solid State Drive. So.... Solid State Drive drive?
Okay Mr. perfect.
Is it possible that the OS has cached some of the files in RAM during the first transfer, giving the second transfer a slight edge? Can you try again with the first drive after transferring to the second drive?
Nope. Nvme is king
Will you be using this SSD regularly now?
Yes sir! I do have to get a thunderbolt dock to attach to my PC motherboard! But once I do! This will be my new workhorse! 🙌
Most drives get thermal throttled almost instantaneously. All the ones coated in gunner that don’t have metal heat sink do I would assume.

quite a collection of *hard drives*?
*SSD’s* 🙄
tubbo was here
Yeah but how secure is the drive
I'm assuming its a thunderbolt 3/USB4 SSD drive. Which should clock out at 40gbps vs 10gbps of the T7 (USB 3.2)

Dude, show the data.... how much MBps
Not a Collection of hard drives, but SSDs
You should look into getting a NAS to store all that data and be able to back it up and keep your data safe.
I actually just started looking into that! Any recommendations to get started??
@@BenGleasonMedia I think Synology is the most common option.
Can the Space Shuttle SSD is compatible to smartphones (with USB-Type C port)?

the moment he pulled out the T7 I knew it was time to click off. What the hell dude
why
@@damienboyer715 using an array of random SSDs as a backup solution isn't a backup solution. For a similar cost he could get himself a NAS.
Why you didn’t show transfer speed of both (>_>)
Looking at this after having to work with a 2tb project with only 1tb ssd’s
crystal mark or other ssd becnhmark test: Are we a joke to you!?
How much ? And how much does it hold 2tb or 4tb. Is there a link to this

aren't you going to provide more details like transfer speed and why the hell do you not show more details when copying files

Where is this one available on? amazon?
Only on Tropic Colours website!
Thought it was a clunky fidget spinner
👀
It’s pretty expensive I believe
is the price worth 2 min?
if they made more than one of that drive then it can no longer be considered the fastest drive in the world.
Dang it… 🤦♂️
How is this accurate? Isnt the samsung one bottlenecking the space shuttle
Try the samsung T9
What on cellular?
M.2 SSD s left the chat
Gen 5s : Oh I can do that in 20 seconds*

Please donate one SSD to me 😢
If your using that many ssd id recommend gettings a nas
