Fact
No he wouldn't
When he retired from playing football, this guy could be a great manager
Specializing in one aspect of the pitch does not guarantee an in-depth understanding of the others, nor does it guarantee an understanding of team cohesion, locker room and backroom management.
He prob meant he’d be a good manager due to his technical view and dissection of the game which could translate into managing
Or a great coach
Nah more like an attacking coach or something like that
Only popular midfielders can be good coaches otherwise u need to be unpopular
brighton scouting team deserved all the praise they get and promotion too.
Swears man even Samuel adingra is good
I would say he is naturally gifted if he was scouted at a young age. But he probably would have been sifted through all the prospects at the time. The wisdom to say "I have to study this" at a young age instead of diving head first. Wow! Tells me talent + discipline = greatness. I'll be watching this guy. Thanks for the vid.
Talent is nothing but hardwork
I hope he continues to improve and gets sold to a better team to showcase his talents
I hope he takes his CURRENT team to the top... As a football fan. But as a Liverpool fan..no
typical football fan hates money but how else club like Brighton keep their talent? Are they not suppose to get to top?
@@eavyeavy2864 they will never get on top without a rich owner. Newcastle is a team that can get on top now considering the investments that have gone inside the club. But not Brighton. As soon as seasons over Mitoma, Macalister, Caicedo and Estupian are leaving this club. Maybe even Lamptey
@@eavyeavy2864yes this annoys me, always talking about what top club will Brighton players be going to (quote MOTD) as if they are just a supply club for the top teams.
I think he is one of the few football players who actually not only graduated but also did University ✨

I knew he is very unique and special since his Kawasaki days. He solo destroyed my local team in ACL both home and defence with his skills. He scored like 17 goals in the league during his debut season and also played very well in Olympics.
He is not just a great dribbler but also a great playmaker. Knows how to use his teammates and make a crack in defence like Vinicius
This is one of the coolest things I have EVER seen. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, and no one will ever be able to tell me otherwise. What a goat.
But he himself said his thesis didn't really influence his style, he just picked the topic because it was something he was interested in.
he is not the only japanese footballer with university degree . junya ito , yoshinori muto , kyogo furuhashi also have university degree and yuto nagatomo have degree in political economics from one of the top university in japan.
He has a diploma on dribbling
furahashi the goattt
The thing is, his degree is learning everything around dribbles. Techniques, physics, nutritions, pov of a good and bad dribblers, pov of the defenders, everything.
there are many footballers with university degrees from many countries. what makes mitoma's stand out is the subject he got his qualifications in.
so you are going to ignore the fact that he has a diploma on dribbling?
One of the most inspiring stories I've heard, insane work ethic.
No people just talk no sens
And because mitoma had a thesis about dribbling and he is actually a good dribbler they aligned his thesis with his dribbling skill but it's not true they are just trying to creat a good "story " out of that because mitoma said himself that his dribbling skills have nothing to do with his thesis that was just a writing to get his degree.
As an argentinian football fan, and of course huge Messi fan, now I became a Mitoma fan too! really amazing and inspiring life story!
this is really high quality content, keep up the good work!
First time stumbling on your video. Great narration and storytelling, love your enthusiasm keep up the great work bro 🤞🏿🔥

Excellent video edit for Kaoru!!!
Man such a great video. Hoping Mitoma will join one of the big clubs soon. Btw, he got married to his college sweetheart, who is herself a track and field athlete (triple jump) so it's like Goku and Chi-chi

Lets say it one of the best dribblers in game and you know how it is when someone comes on the pitch and is not even close to what he shows off on street

Also he just finished his first year in the Premier League, so I think he'll break out as world class starting next season

It sounds dumb that all he essswntially got from his thesis was: “keep your head up” and “make your opponent move”, but he really shows how different your dribbling will be when you apply these simple concepts
That goal was too nuts 😵💫😵💫🤩
I rarely comment on videos but this was crazy good
10:03 gotta be the most impressive feat possible
One of the best dribblers🤓☝️
Man City already has quite a few wingers, but I think Mitoma would still fit and be a good change from the a bit slower paced dribblers like Mahrez, Grealish, and Foden, that generally prefer to link play than race to the byline.
I think him with Haaland would be a magic formula for assists.
mahrez is gone now too
and yeah, kdb + mitoma + haaland would be unstoppable
Mitoma doesn’t press as much so he wouldn’t fit in Pep’s football philosophy. Positional play is also more appreciated in Man City than individual play which is Mitoma’s style. There’s also their preference of midfield - striker connection, so KDB and Haaland, most goals they got were from those two, so wingers are not prioritized as much. He would fit much better in clubs where their main goal scorers are from wingers.
@@asinglefrenchfry2983
Your first few points are not wrong, but that does not mean Mitoma would not fit Pep's system.
Less pressing does not mean he cannot press, and is more likely the result of how Brighton's system works rather than his own preference as a player. Plus, the way City presses is not similar at all to how Liverpool presses. It's more of a man-marking defense to encourage the defense to move the ball into a certain area. (Rather than a Liverpool like press where players rush to win the ball). Plus, Japanese players tend to be more hardworking types that don't mind putting their head down to work for the team. At the very least, it wouldn't be something he couldn't learn.
I would argue that individualistic players like Mitoma would actually fit a positional system a lot more than what you give him credit for. There is a reason why Mahrez worked very well in Pep's system, and Mitoma is not that dissimilar of a player. Mitoma is more direct, but both are great dribblers who can cut inside or rush the byline to deliver amazing crosses into the box or score on their own.
To say that City would prefer a midfield-striker connection is also just plain wrong. If the wingers in the system were not as good, it's certain that Haaland and KDB would not be as effective. This point is so obvious it makes me doubt that you watched any City games last year, or even ever. The reason why Haaland was able to score so many goals was because of the amount of high quality players in other positions. Defenders often were pulled away from Haaland giving him space.
Haaland often scored on the transition and Mitoma is also a great transitional player. There is no reason why Mitoma wouldn't be able to create goals for Haaland either.
Having a player like Mitoma, especially after Mahrez's departure, would help unlock defenses by drawing players to him. It isn't just about playing the best pass to score the goal, because sometimes there isn't a pass to be played. Against teams that often sit back and play a low block, having strong dribblers like Mitoma to run at the defense can be what is needed to break them down.
Absolutely love this anime themed vid of football
The goal vs Liverpool gave me goosebumps
I already made a comment about this young player going to arsenal and how it could suit him, but what about screw the premier and go straight to Bayern Munich. The way their doctors and medical staff treat their players are exceptional. He could also learn alote their academically by the world class sport doctors available, and the only thing Mitoma can improve on more is his physical abilties and what better place.
his story is every anime protagonist backstory. An average main character who work hard until he became the best
Mhn that Blue lock edit tho 🔥🔥

reason why I watched Brtighton games is... Mitoma! I really enjoyed watcing him play

You just earned a sub 😂
Arsenal would be the perfect place for him to go as Arteta has proven that he can work with young talent and he would 100% bench the Brazilian winger Martineli who has not been in good form or he just drops form every other game. Players need to analyze what club suits their playing stylles and since Mitoma is a educated smart young man I am sure he will go to the place that suits his abilities rather than the club that pays him better.
