  • There aren't many customer reviews of the Specialized Sirrus X 4.0. Here is my opinion and watch how the bike handles in the hands of a skilled novice. The Sirrus X is designed to tackle dirt and gravel roads. I took it on a mild single track trail and up a moderate hill. Thank you for watching.

    Thank you for the video mate, I've been looking at the reviews for this bike for the past few weeks and there are practically no real personal reviews of this bike on here. First, great review and video. I have the same bike in orange. As a fellow big man, (6’7”, 275) I understand the challenges of finding a quality bike that suits our frames. I agree 100% with your review. The Sirius X is a great all around, general purpose bike, suitable for all terrains except serious mountain biking. I found that out this weekend, when my son took me mountain biking and I brought my Sirius. Only my skill and experience kept me from busting my azz numbers times. I probably will change my tires to something more knobby, since this bike will be exclusive used for gravel and unpaved roads.

    I've got the same bike as well, and after a year of ownership, I'm very impressed. The upgrade I'm most curious about is the kickstand. I hadn't even considered that a center kickstand actually fit. I just assumed the only ones I could use are the ones on the end of the frame by rear hub. I'm not a fan of those rear mount, but I like them in the center.

    Really enjoyed your video.
    Due to Covid, it became much more difficult to identify which model year Specialized we were actually buying.
    Believe that particular color equipped with the Shimano components was considered to be a 2021 model.
    The 2022's were intended to be a mix of Shimano & Sram, but believe it ended up being all Sram. That's why I bought this '21 in 2022. Never cared for how the Sram NX shifted, so I opted for the '21 Deore.

      @BigManBikingReconDMV-fm2pn  Před 11 měsíci

      Speaking of a mix. I now have a SRAM b.b. & crank. I like the Shimano shifting better, too.
      The Red Shift seat post has a lot of good reviews. At 330lbs, I wonder how much suspension would be left for bumps. It is a great all-around bike. I may try the Red Shift Seat Post. You are the 2nd or 3rd person to recommend it. Thanks. Ride safe & have fun.

      You have a hard decision with 2 great bikes. I suggest sitting or even test riding both to see which feels better to you. There are some differences that you should decide if they are important to you. 1. Drivetrain, do you need a clutch (Trek DT3 has it)? 2. Do you want quick release wheels of thruaxles? What size tires 650B (27.5") or 700C (29"). I will see if I can make one of my next videos about riding on the C&O Canal. Thanks for the idea. Remember, you can upgrade everything but the frame. I use it exclusively for off road trails. It has 2.6 wide tires. It offers smoother ride and more grip than the SirrusX (off road). @BigManBikingReconDMV-fm2pn  Před 10 měsíci

      Hello, I have a 3 part answer for your decision. 1- pick a bike Frame that will meet your needs & style of riding. The "Fitness vs "Hardtail MTB." The Fitness will suit the paved & gravel Trail riding better than the Hardtail off road focused frame. 2- Gears, 12 speed vs 11speed. Don't forget crank size too. The 11 speed shimano with the 40t crank suits my ride anywhere style bike well. You can always use another gear on very steep hills. 3- Tire tread & profile. A gravel tire that is made to smooth on pavement & offer grip in dirt, gravel & mud is important. A mtb tire creates resistance on pavement, but will always be superior off road compared to multi-use tire.
      I really love the SirrusX, but pick what fits your needs. Try to get a derailleur with a clutch.
