If you’re a guitar player…just try to play this like she’s playing it. Then sing a perfect melody on top of it. She’s pulling off super difficult stuff here and making it sound so simple.
the perfect embodiment of being a “childish” person. pleading like a child to be near the other again, pushing everyone away just like an angsty teen, clinging to memories you can barely remember. this is such a vulnerable piece n it feels like she took it right from my soul
her songwriting is just incredible. "Circle of pine and red oak/Circle of moss and firesmoke" is so simple but so evocative, and this song is full of lines like that
