- You are having fun using Origin without getting the Migration Message. Suddenly, on June 19th, you crash into a new issue. This time, the entirety of Origin is locked down, showing a singular plain wall of text saying, "Please use EA App to continue". You panic, trying to find a solution to this fix on the Internet. You stumble upon this tutorial, which quickly teaches you how to bypass this message in just under 5 minutes.

Hey guys! Because Discord made links expire after quite some time, entering bit(dot)ly/OriginInstaller onto your browser will result in an error saying that the content is not available.

Can I just say I love the sheer stubbornness of Origin users? "No, EA, we do NOT want to use your new sh%tty app." Even the fix app is called "F%&kOffEA" xD
For me it's because I am playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition and the Steam achievements for ME2 and 3 are not working when using the EA app :')

I once again cannot thank you enough, having Origin working once more is infinitely helpful and you are such an invaluable resource for being able to still enjoy games such as Anthem and anything that chooses not to work through EA App. You are the best!

UPDATE: While this helped Origin look normal again instead of the blank white "Use EA app" screen, it cleared my Sims expansion packs from the launcher and I couldn't install them again. Removing the version made them reappear in my game's launcher (which still works from just clicking on the game on my desktop). Still, the first step is great for people who want to go back to Origin from the EA app.

I already long since gave up hope to play Sims 2 and Medieval (and anything else really)--games that I paid for. Now I can enjoy them once again. Thank you.

HOLY SHIT YOU ARE A LIFESAVER. EA App wouldn't let me download my EP no matter what I did, but as soon as I got back into Origin everything is working perfectly. THANK YOU SO MUCH
So the EA app message is gone now, but I can only use origin in offline mode because it says there's a mandatory update that needs doing, but anytime there's an attempt to install that, I get the "Whoops - the installer encountered an error" message and I have no idea how to fix this. Any help?

Wooow, I cannot believe this still works as of late Oct 2023! You've really saved my bacon as I'm on 4G internet and can't afford to redownload all my games or mess with the EA App shit.
EA just cannot accept that we, customers, don't want their "upgraded" shitty launcher...
This fix is no longer working they have pushed an update that breaks it.. here is a workaround

It worked for my message, but I'm unable to launch Mass Effect Legendary Edition. If I launch from Origin, nothing happens, and if I launch from Steam, it seems as if it is attempting something, then the launch button goes back to "Play". After deleting the EA app, when I launch the game, it asks me to download the EA app and when I choose to skip, it states I have to set an app to open the program, but do not see any settings that give me that option. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much! There were too many times I couldn't launch my purchased games because of the broken EA app. So glad we now have the option to use a much more reliable launcher (Origin).
On the first attempt it didn't worked and I gave up in frustration, but I tried it again at a later time and it worked! I honestly had no hope that it would work but it did! Thank you! :)

After MONTHS of not having the EA App work, anfrily posting gon the EA forums, filing an FTC complaint, and more, I pretty much gave up until I reinstalled origin looking for new solutions and this finally did it!!!!!!! I can play BF2042 for the first time in half a year and I am estatic
my ani virus wont let me, it sais "virus detected" and i cant click on continue
Same for me. I bypassed this by going into windows security settings then virus protection, protection history and finding the blocked download and clicking on allow. This will then allow you to download the file. I did this and the EA message disappeared, but as a heads up, I got too weary when it kept saying that the file is a specific Trojan, so I deleted it :(
Looks like I'm not the only one struggling to download my DLC. The only fix is LITERALLY repurchasing the base game for the Sims 3 which is an absolute scam.

Ah, yes. Isn't it lovely that a company as big as EA will forcefully merge us to the EA app, but they won't fix the Origin checker for their older games that use a web browser for the server browser? The hyper link for the Origin checker that says "Download origin" literally directs you to to their EA site that prompts you to download the EA app. It sure is a shame we have had to resort to this. But anyways, great video man! Glad I can use the Origin app again and play my older games.
Edit: turns out if you use the Brave browser, you cannot play games like BF3 and Hardline that use your web browser. I can play those games through the EA app if I use Chrome or Opera GX. Have not tested Firefox.

The issue I have with this is that Origin opens successfully, but then it just sits there and doesn't launch the game. Launching from within Origin doesn't seem to work either.
Well it half worked for me. Origin now starts.
But when launching Mass Effect Andromeda it minimizes the app Steam shows the game running for a couple of seconds then stops and the Origin app pops back up. Just like the Ea App does.

This + pinned comment still work. I bought Sims 3 Dragon Valley and couldn't install it from the EA app. Tried everything to do it from the app. Figured that I'll be able to install it from Origin, wrong. Now it says I have to pay the EA Play membership to even get the original games back... It says in the "Purchase orders" that I have a right to it, but in Origin it says that I have to buy it from scratch plus the base game. Cannot win with EA.
Btw, im not sure if im the only who is getting this isue, when i try to open a game trought shortcuts or pinned games on taskbar, it opens origin, but never opens the game, i need to open games trought library, but i cant from shortcuts or pinned

Not working. Running Origin via Proton on Steam Deck, and it doesnt appear as if Origin.exe is even loading version.dll as it starts up so the bypass wont work anyhow. Might be a Proton specific bug.

I did everything the video said -- even followed the comment telling me to edit the .ini file, and now I can't login. It tells me that I must be online to login for the first time, and also says that online login is currently unavailable. Did I mess up, or is this another hoop that I need to jump through? If so, how to I jump?

@@elmarkuso1489 The problem for me was just that the BG3 release caused server issues. I'm afraid I can't offer real advice, but it's working for me now.
same shit happened to me IDK if you managed to solve this problem in these 4 weeks. Anyways I just deinstalled (erased) orishit via Control Panel --> Programs and Features --> [Uninstall]. After I did all that I reinstalled orishit again and than I just received some code on my email I had to insert "because I'm logging in for the first time". After all of this I opened orishit and that EA fuck shit STILL opens up and I can't cancel it, I can't move it I can't do anything about it. So I'm still stuck with that piece of shit EA.

Did you update this fix because your previous one is no longer viable? The previous one you did with the Old Origin is the only thing that works for me (my issue is Sims 4 not opening), and the dll doesn't fix that for me, so I'm just wondering if it's still possible to use the other.

p0358 has updated his version.dll, now giving the ability to launch Origin games without having to launch them using the platform. This means that people who use any programs from the Frosty Toolsuite will be able to launch their game properly! This leaves the link, bit.ly/OriginFix2023, outdated.

The new solution did work until recently, but about few hours earlier, MS Defender detects Wacatac.B!ml trojan. That's a pretty serious trojan that can steal your access data and such. It may be false positive, but I am not going to risk. I'd rather live without Origin than with this trojan on my PC. That's for sure. So, I suggest anyone to be very careful and cautious with this.
@@petrnovak7235 p’s version.dll is completely safe. It is open source, so anyone could take a look and see if anything in there is malicious, in which of course, it’s not.
