This is an absolute shit way to make gil, it's 10-13k an hour if you're good at claiming with thf/bst.
You can make more than this by farming rabbit hides, I had fun though. - Hry

How do you know to pop flee before spawn and checking widescan?
I'll admit it looks a little shady but I think he's preemptively popping it because he knows when the placeholders were last killed which happens to be on a 5-minute respawn I believe

Damn. I always thought drop rate was better than that, I remember going 2/3 on retail back on 2006 with TH1. Never realized I was super lucky I guess. You had to put in some work. Well done either way.

because nm's only have a select few amount of placeholders, you can stopwatch the placeholders to find out exactly when monsters respawn and time them. Then you can use minimap + widescan to track the nm when your timer goes off, my minimaps on the right side so i can watch for placeholder pops while i open map.

@@slimebuck bots auto follow targets or stand still, look at every spawn I don't widescan, you can see them show up on my minimap.

Yeah, players farming NM drops for money will probably get enough people to quit that you can farm boots all day and night. I hope the NM drop follow the same suit as retail. It's pretty toxic otherwise.

@@devinnore I guarantee it will. I've already seen two leave this week for not meeting their expectations. Though this iteration of xi is ok. Having the launcher is the real gem of this private server so far. People were expecting more + from the 75 era +. I know you can do BCNM i intend on doing them myself, - But NM drops being able to be farmed is toxic AF. you might just be too close to the product or you enjoy griefing others and you don't care too see it.

Because I did my homework, and leveled THF, i was able to farm many rare drops I wouldn't of been able to afford, or do BCNMs for, and the few drops I am having bad luck with, or to many bots doing it, I can use the seals..

Thanks for reminding me how un-fun this was, I had tossed around the idea, but no.... this is just stupid as shit. I remember feeling so accomplished when I claimed that mob for the first time back in 2006, and now, 17 years later I realize it never meant shit and was only designed to keep you logged in and paying. Least you guys aren't having to pay I guess. To each their own.

@@SageLakshmi lol what a lunatic. Every single MMO had raised level caps or made huge changes to their game. It's how a game survives... you expect that after 10 years the exact same content and gear was going to be preserved for another 10 years? How dumb, and it wasn't a waste because the game has been out of 75 cap longer than it ever was in 75 cap. We still use various items from the level cap life kraken club and other accessories.

I was simply saying that after 10 years, SE decided to change the rules of their game which without a doubt, did not respect the players time. It was a pretty divisive move by them and in case you didn't notice, a lot of ppl quit because of it. Just pointing out the SE does not always respect the players time.
@@SageLakshmi I didn't notice actually, we saw a lot of growth since then and even enough to warrant an expansion w/Adoulin. I didn't care that a bunch of neckbeards were angry that SE dared to change the game and invalidate their terrible HNM drops and the same dumb gear we had for over a decade. It felt fresh and new and every era brought something different. I dont ever want to go backwards, just forward.
SE certainly respects players time now, we have so much freedom.

Retail turned into an easy ass game from what I have seen. Too many folks leaning on those trusts to get their stuff done. Didn’t have that back in the day. That’s why you see so many people on horizon. The challenge. A sense of accomplishment when you achieve your goals. Real community because you couldn’t do anything alone post level 10. It’s what made this game what it is.
@@ericferguson7940 No actually, it didnt. I have played every era of FFXI and its not "easy ass game." every single era since Abyssea has had challenging content.
Just look up "Odyssey v20" and tell me how you are doing that with trusts. It takes 6 players all ontop of their game to the point most cant even multibox it or have leeches because its too challenging.
LV75 era was a complete joke, if something wasnt kited/pinned/DOT to death, you could simply melee zerg it (literally every NM was being melee zerg by the end of the era.)
You CAN DO THINGS ALONE from lv10, you can solo it was always available at 75 era!!! Even people made guides soloing beastmaster pets!! You literally have your head in the sand

Often-times, the name would appear pink (claimed) before the name-plate even appeared. If you think that is botting, research what botters are actually like. that claim was soo slow. our LS actually called out a botter in our LS, informed a GM and got the dude perma banned. (His name was Kamiurai or something) who was a real LL botter. We dont put up with botters.
