- The Porsche 935 K3 Kremer Turbo Group 5 are among the most spectacular cars that can be seen in the races for historic cars. Surely the Epic exhaust flames, don't leave you indifferent! I have filmed these two 1980 models belonging to Urs Beck and Henrik Lindberg in many European circuits, Nurburgring, Imola, Monza and Spa Francorchamps and brought together some of the most beautiful scenes of recent years. Cars developed by the brothers Manfred and Erwin Kremer, in this K3 evolution came to realise a real aerodynamic kit with a completely redesigned and better-profiled front. Also, a rear area revised and equipped with huge aerodynamic appendices. The engine switched to 3.2 litres of displacement, always with two KKK turbochargers, in the races of the time, at 1.4 bar pressure the car guaranteed about 750hp at 7,800 rpm while for qualifying, raising the pressure to 1.7 bar reached about 800hp at 8,000 rpm.
Built-in 13 units, the 935 K3 arrived first and second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979.

One of my favorite Porsche’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Me too 👍
Bellissime!
As I only live 1 hour away from Mid-Ohio, I was fortunate to be able to see the 934 1/2's and the 935's race in the late 70's and early 80's until the 962's and other GTP's took over, the K3 is my favorite race car, nothing like the sound and the flames from the exhaust, thanks for you videos!
You're welcome; this Porsche is one of the most beautiful and memorable Group 5 cars, it's fantastic from every point of view and could only be a Porsche, they have always built excellent racing cars. If you're interested, I made another video recently, this time with the onboard as well: czcams.com/video/8QGgkehIvzU/video.html
I just woke up to this. Pass me a towel...
hahaha 😁👍
I feel like Group 5 Gen.4 is the forgotten Golden Area of road course racing. Yes Group C take the crown, but Group 5 was, special... Absolute monsters capable of making over 800bhp in the 70's, all of that based from actual road legal cars (unlike-ish group B). The MASSIVE bodykits made them even more beautiful. Sadly, because their races took part in a time where cameras where not as widely used has they are today. There are few videos showing them ripping it out on track and even fewer if not none of them actually racing wheel-to-wheel. And because of that, only a few people actually knows about these crazy demons and the legacy they put in place...
You find me perfectly in agreement with what you wrote. I deeply love Group 5 and what they have represented in motorsport. They have a body that resembles road cars and makes them even more fascinating. Although I may now see them occasionally in some revival contest, I'll do my best to film them when I get the chance. Enthusiasts shouldn't forget these cars.
Henrik Lindberg, anyone know more on this car and his collection? Is he UK based Sweden?
Glorious sound and video thanks
Thanks 😉👍

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones ! ^_____^
Thanks, you are very kind. Merry Christmas to you and your family too 🙂
Nice, choppy idle on this one. I love a choppy idle, usually from big cams but the high boost turbos are playing a part here. Lovely flames, the best part about turbos after the rush of boost.
You are right, for many years I have seen and filmed these cars, and every time I rejoice, they are old school Turbo cars, high-speed and beautiful... and those flames! Ah, how epic was the motorsport of a few decades ago!

The cars were much more interesting then for sure. Most series now are almost "spec" with only minor differences. LeMans type racing still has cool cars but I have never been able to keep track of the action with 4 classes running at once. Which car is where is confusing as only the current driver is shown, and I can't remember 3 or 4 drivers for each car running!
