    Wow… passing a an interview and getting an offer from Nordstrom as a SWE with literally 0 experience. You can’t do that now. You need 5+ years for a junior position

      haha yeah its definitely way harder nowadays unfortunately especially for new grads :( but I have a few friends who just graduated and were able to find jobs without that much difficulty so I still believe its possible!

      @@CodeRay basically just tips on actually getting proficient at coding rather than just learning and knowing how to code. How do we get started on our first project? I'm a beginner learning how to code so my questions are rather broad. :)

    Sir if you earn 280k dollars a year before taxes then what is your take home salary after taxes and deductions in new York? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.

    • @CodeRay
      @CodeRay  Před měsícem

      I think taxes and deductions in NYC is almost 50% :(

      @@CodeRay Fun fact: if you were in the HQ in the bay area, the after tax pay is pretty much the same (NYC is higher by 2-3k difference after taxes). Both places effectively tax at ~39% for 280k income.
      Since stocks / bonus make up a significant portion of your income, your actual paychecks will be roughly 9k / month.

    Hi, i’m considering between premed and comp sci right now. What would you feel are the pros and cons of your job Mr. Ray?

    • @CodeRay
      @CodeRay  Před měsícem

      good question! i left premed because 1. I couldn't afford the huge debt that comes from med school, 2. I did not want to waste my 20s studying/grinding school and 3. I wasn't passionate about it. If you do it for the money, go into tech :)
