@@KenneXS There are good vanilla servers with active admins too. That's what you want to look for though. Servers where there's always someone able to respond within 15-20 minutes if you F7 a cheater since admins will get a notification (usually on their phones) when you do that and they can hop on to take care of it. Modded or Vanilla, that's the key. Active admins who don't let that happen for long. People like Camomo.

My God, once you hear them (when they think nobody is listening) you realize they are just as sad as you imagined. Scrolling through accounts just to get banned a few minutes later, craving for attention. They are so cringe.

I once hacked on Minecraft when I was like 13 or 14. Just did it on one server and didn't kill anyone who wasn't another hacker (I had fun killing other hackers since when I was playing legit on my main, I was one of the most well known on the server and could easily beat hackers in any battle that depended on my gear. Especially since people would literally run up and donate stuff to me to kill the other hackers)
but yeah, even for me, with my little idea of me being a 'vigilante' of that server since the admin was basically non existent, I still just wanted recognition that I couldn't get since while I was known, I wasn't one of the best pvpers or anything.
It's all about getting seen, about getting that attention for all of them. It's quite sad, and I'm glad I stopped

The issue is supply and demand.
There's not an infinite number of accounts WITH Rust to be stolen and resold.
Remember that they need to buy accounts WITH RUST on them - otherwise, they would have just made a new account and bought Rust again.
I use mods in a different game (Red Dead. We use the mods for events and cheater protection. The menu I use merely pulls my Posse into a private session whenever a modder starts griefing the area) but the server itself has a RUST section and the general chat in that section is definitely concerned with the speed at which bans are happening.
It's hilarious because I don't cheat in games nor play with cheaters but get to see the nooks and crannies of casual discussion where everyone thinks nobody is watching.
In fact there is no way Camomo isn't in the discord server as well because those menus require registration with the server and it's REAL EASY to check and see if a person in your Rust server's discord is ALSO in a cheating discord via "mutual servers" info

Listening to them talk is making me realize that cheating in games is like a way of life. they talk about buying new accounts and how expensive it's getting like it wouldn't be easier to just not cheat. It's like they have to do it, instead of grinding out a game to get better they just take the easy way. It's sad
It probably never crosses their minds to go legit. There's a documentary about gaming cheaters out there, if I recall, every person who was interviewed viewed cheating as the proper way to play games. They would never play legit, it's a lifestyle to them. Just listen to how much effort they're putting into finding a new account to cheat on.

Dude i feel so bad for these kids. Not a shred of any actual socializing or comradery. Im convinced hes cheating cuz he wants to be good so other guys will admire him thinking this will fill the social void. As a former cheater (not on Rust) that used to speak exactly like these guys, I agree. It was immaturity, boredom and lack of socialization. I immensely despise who I used to be and these guys made me cringe to the fullest extent... especially calling their own community "skids" for not knowing useless information about DDoSing. They're skids for not knowing how modern IPs work.

The issue here is that there’s no path for restitution and absolution. So all they can do is keep cheating. It’s the most terrible way to handle cheaters from a sociology perspective but I completely understand why they do it.

Cheating in video games has gotten to the point where companies could sue the websites that sell the cheats, or even the cheaters themselves for lack of income. Games like Titan Fall 2, COD, Rust and Escape from Tarcov have major cheater problems. Aside from having to pay for new accounts, there should be real consequences for cheating. I've had to give up multiple multiplayer games I enjoyed over the years because of cheaters.
South Korea recently passed a law (because of it's huge eSporting scene) that punishes people cheating in games with up to 5 years in prison. I think this is a very good model, something we should consider in other countries for sure!

I've done some hacking in the past on terraria, however I only did so to get the server owner's attention and get him to voice act for a game i was creating. After watching several of these videos, they will still do it out of spite. They don't know that if you kill the population on a game, it makes the developers come to a decision to take the servers down. This makes me just want to setup a bunch of accounts to sell to these cheaters, with a little caveat added to it that all the accounts created for these cheaters have their names forwarded to Rust Admins who will be given a list of accounts that these cheaters will be using so they can just catch and ban them.

The issue with this is that you'd be taking money in the commission of a felony so I'd keep as far away from that as possible.

$32 per week to cheat on a game only to get banned eventually or immediately. This is the definition of people without lives. There's no reason anyone should be able to toss almost $130 a month into the garbage. They also likely spend $100's on new game accounts on top of that. I don't know how much they cost second hand, but even that has to get expensive.

They always act like they don't care, but anyone buying multiple accounts to continue playing Rust cares a lot. If you cheat & get banned & then quit playing, you are far more respectable in the fact that you say "yeah, I fucked up and I'm done with the game I'll play something else" but these mfer's literally cannot live without Rust, but they don't even really play the game, they let a program play it for them.
They have absolutely no lives.
You know how these cheaters just loooove making an appearance in your videos as if they're some sort of big star - playing a protagonist role in your videos? Well, you should treat them as such - while at the same time, reminding them who directs this shit. Your videos tell a story, but like any story, the facts can be twisted or embellished into something that didn't really happen. You should do this with cheaters just to mess with their heads and piss them off. There are so many different ways to pull off such a troll as well - giving it tons of replayability potential.
I like how it took less than 20 years for gaming to go from cheap and skill based, to micro-transactions and cheats.
I love how big idiots these cheaters are. They are willing to pay X amount of money just to get banned again and again. I also like the fact that one of them thought he was going to be famous because he'd be in a CZcams video. I think most people like me will think of him as a stupid cheater and that's all.
This is why I don't play with cheaters, people I find out later that are cheating I just unfriend them, I don't wanna be playing with people who ruin games for others they get too toxic, and can't become normalized people. Just people who have bad lives, probably the type of person who lives in their mommas basement or attic and see no sunlight 😂😂

Sucks too last time I played Rust seriously, I used to play Stevious/Bloo Lagoon alot and man those servers are HEAVILY targeted by cheaters. We killed some and pissed our neighbor off in the process who then smacked our window for a solid 2 hours on god. We tried talking him off the ledge and kinda did to then him saying "yeah so btw theres a dude on your roof tracing your movements through the walls, they're going to get explosives right now apparently" I was in the base and we had a bunch of HQM saving up to fortify the bunker we had at the time, and they did exactly that. We saved it with quick upgrades but I went to flame raid a wood honeycomb base that we seen had wood walls, and low and behold dudes creeping up, knowing I'm there hiding in the honeycomb, killed him (terrible cheater, guess he thought I was still inside the honeycomb somehow) and reported. Took about 14 hours after the report for the 3 of them to get banned but in that one single wipe, got 9 of those "a player you reported has been banned" notifications. Its crazy how bad those servers are with them.
I wish there was a way you could make a video that could help other admins identify these cheaters without compromising your ways or helping those stinky cheatas. Thanks bud

imagine being that much of a manchild to dedicate all that time and money you spend on accounts instead of spending it on getting training/practicing, im trash at rust with only 24 hours total since downloading it years ago, but i'll never download cheats bc its as simple as just dedicating time to getting better, or just not playing
