I would never play this game but I love watching this stuff.
I used to play it a while ago. Usually on a friend's server where we had some weekend events . It fizzled out because the others and I had less and less time to play. Forget playing on any public server if you can only play on weekends. Your base decays before you have time to add more stuff.

Hey...could you invite a cheater onto a boat and...lock them into the boat(or other vehicle)? Just offer them a ride and if they take it, lock them in and do an admin sit with them.
All the while giving them a 5 hour tour
I just thought of a way to really piss off cheaters but it will require you to employ at least another person as "bait".
Basically if you know a cheater is somewhere and there isn't any other players around you have your friend "bait" make their way around the area to entice the cheater. What the cheater doesn't know is that "bait" has an inventory full of great loot like 1-2 stacks of scrap, maybe a number of C4, etc. Like their inventory will be loaded! Like they just did a raid or something. But don't make it TOO obvious like 6 stacks of scrap, a full stack of C4 etc. lol
Once the cheater kills said "bait" and checks their inventory they are gonna freak at how much loot there is. What that cheater doesn't know is that you will be nearby and snipe his head clean off, or come up on him and blow him away. That will make said cheater rage A LOT considering they just lost out on a huge haul of goods. Then you can delete said items (or teleport "bait" back to fill their inventory for the next cheater etc) and raid them etc.

To anyone that idolizes this guy, just know that he power trips alot. I had a friend that I was playing duo with that had a 700 day old game ban. Server was Icefuse oblivion, we were over an hour in still using bows because we were killed by cheaters camping that waters duo with a boat. After getting a start going again me and my friend put up a 1x1 and camomo mlrsed it and accused us of esping after he took our door code and unvanished for a second or two mid air while we were looking around. Then, he said to go read the server rules when I asked why we were being harassed by him when I was teleported to an iceberg. The only server rule that correlated to us was no game bans < 180 days old but i guess 700 wasnt long enough. Btw the duo cheaters that killed us never got banned from the server, but they did get game banned 2 days later. Great job at being a good admin.

I suspect he can see MAC addresses or computer names due to Rust system information collection. Thing about VPNs is they only encrypt the data between the tunnel entrance and exit system, most sites just use the IP information to quickly determine region for access its mostly for ISP or man in the middle shielding.

One thing I don't understand is that why doesn't anyone go after the people who sells the cheats directly? It would solve most of the hacking issues because most people don't have the skills to create hacking tools, only use them.
