QuacklQuacks I think the ruleset is that they don’t play sudden death but they judge who won the game based of who has the lower percentage at the end

Does anybody know how Big D is doing that desync where Nana Blizzards and Popo shields?

You can see at 6:47 that there a few frame difference from when nana shields and popo shields. Try buffering shield and smashing down b after a side b
Ok, i figured it out i think, if you do the side b and then towards the end of the animation hold down and then tap sheild then special button, popo will crouch and nana will use blizzard. I dont know the exact timing, but it doesnt seem too tight because i can get it pretty consistantly in practice.
I dont think this is exactly like BigD's desync, but it definitely desyncs out of side b.
Side b, down b (bit) hold shield, not sure about timing either, but it's a consistent desync
IzawSmash has two videos about desyncing ice climbers which might be helpful
L adapted to the matchup pretty damn quick.

You camp them and play lame when they approach and wiff something you capatilze on it and focus to kill nana but don't get too carried because you'll most like get punished and be cautious when playing against sopo because everyone gets hit bynthe stray side b and gets Uair stringed so you habe to space your moves more accordingly when playing against sopo

Game 2 serves Captain L right for just trying to thunderjolt camp Big D the entire match. This is one of the first timeouts I’ve ever seen in Ultimate. Props to Big D for bringing more character diversity to Ultimate so we don’t just have to watch the “top tiers” (aka wolf, palu, Fox, Snake, olimar, and pika/pichu)
what else was Captain L supposed to do

The announcers mixed up Popo and Nana the entire set. The skin Big D was using has Nana as the primary ice climber.
Popo will always be the leading ic, nana the cpu one, that way it easier to comentate
Popo has been the leading ice climber since melee and at this point anyone who knows anything about IC knows that. Because of that its a lot easier for everyone involved to call the leading IC Popo and the cpu Nana as thats been the standard for years
@@packun_jonk3276 in Melee, Nana can also be the lead IC based on skin. But I understand if this has been the norm for commentators since then.

Difference between playing cowardly and cautiously. Ls play was incredibly patient because if rushing icies is exactly how they win. Especially if they understand the match up and possible desynchs. One wrong move couldve become a Twitter clip for L

Mudak The Multiplier usually doesn’t happen. And if they timed out with the same percents, they play a 3min game or something lol
@@MudakTheMultiplier The lower percent rule is to mimic traditional fighting games when a timeout occurs. The player with the life lead wins. If a time out occurs and they have the same percent, they have to play a 1 stock match to settle it.
I love when the announcers think they know what’s going on with the desyncs but don’t fully understand the mechanics.

It's just a thing of the matchup. Any character with such a wild punish game and weak approach game is prone to being camped out
