***you will need to shorten screws and remove original handle on this magnet or you can just glue the knob onto it.***
I have a large piece of thin sheet metal under my cutting mat and I use rectangular magnets with crystal drawer knobs attached to them.
You can either screws the knobs in ( you’ll need to shorten the screw) or simply glue it on.
It’s so nice and easy to grab hold and move around.
Great when you need to cut a lot of the same pattern piece.

Hope you love this system.😊
Not even kidding. I got my sheet metal yesterday. As well as the little knobs like urs. Magnets r coming today along with the same mat as urs. I think it is going to make such a difference in cutting my fabric. Can't wait to try! Oh! And I got enough magnets and knobs to make a set for my sister (another sewing goddess). She'll just have to get the sheet metal. Like 12$ at home depot. She's gonna die! 🤯

What are you currently using as patterns weights for your sewing projects?
These magnets are just perfect! I use small and very smooth pieces of marble stone, but they are not always efficient. I'll follow your idea! Thanks for sharing. ☺️

If you do not want to cut yourself with the metal another alternative is to buy a large metallic whiteboard and use the Skittle type magnetic pins. I have been using this method for years and it makes it easy to dismantle and tuck away when not in use. If you are lucky the whiteboard may come with a fibreboard backing soft enough to accept pins as an alternative surface.
Thanks for the suggestion😊
Thank you so much for showing how you made these. I was fascinated each time you used these in other videos. 👍👍

Hello,
I am wondering what size your cutting mat is and what size the drawer pulls are? Thank you!
Love your videos!
Links for items are in the description below the video. Thanks for watching . More to come😊
Do you have a link for the supplies used for the weights??
Links are in description. ( not exact knobs). Cheers!

Good but i have a question...why not in the center ? The knobs...
Excuse me, Ok ok...i saw in Amazon...😅 The originals, ok ok
Yours are more wowww 🤩
screwed into original hole
😮
I still use large cans of food lol
So cute! Is your mat magnetic?
It’s a large piece of sheet metal underneath. watch the video again as I show it in there. Cheers!
🤗💖🇺🇸
Do you know, off hand, if this will work with the thickness of the green Olfa mat?
yes it does. I have Olfa mats as well but I prefer this one and it’s thicker than the Olfa ones. Thanks for watching.😊
Hi,
Any recommendations on how to get the original handle out of the weight? Mine look like they are riveted in. Thanks!
You’ll have to use a grinder to remove them otherwise leave them on and glue knob to other side. You can also drill out a wooden knob to cover existing handle and glue in. Thanks for watching😊
shockingly brilliant!!!!!
😀thank you !
Where did you purchase the sheet metal, and what is the size?
bought from metal supplier approx 100cm x 180cm. You can probably buy sheet metal from hardware store
Thank you!
Oh ok I made the same system but my magnets are just plain
I just wanted something a bit prettier and easier to grab a hold of. I’ve made smaller square ones too with the same handles
