***you will need to shorten screws and remove original handle on this magnet or you can just glue the knob onto it.***
I have a large piece of thin sheet metal under my cutting mat and I use rectangular magnets with crystal drawer knobs attached to them.
You can either screws the knobs in ( you’ll need to shorten the screw) or simply glue it on.
It’s so nice and easy to grab hold and move around.
Great when you need to cut a lot of the same pattern piece.

Not even kidding. I got my sheet metal yesterday. As well as the little knobs like urs. Magnets r coming today along with the same mat as urs. I think it is going to make such a difference in cutting my fabric. Can't wait to try! Oh! And I got enough magnets and knobs to make a set for my sister (another sewing goddess). She'll just have to get the sheet metal. Like 12$ at home depot. She's gonna die! 🤯

If you do not want to cut yourself with the metal another alternative is to buy a large metallic whiteboard and use the Skittle type magnetic pins. I have been using this method for years and it makes it easy to dismantle and tuck away when not in use. If you are lucky the whiteboard may come with a fibreboard backing soft enough to accept pins as an alternative surface.

    • @NotchesSewing

You’ll have to use a grinder to remove them otherwise leave them on and glue knob to other side. You can also drill out a wooden knob to cover existing handle and glue in. Thanks for watching😊
