About Young Sheldon:

Incorrect. A man wants respect and honor. "Taking" the recipe, is NOT the same as her "giving" it to him as a symbol of his authoritative place in the family as father and husband. By withholding the recipe from him she is clearly communicating the idea that he is not worthy to know the FAMILY secret and that he is viewed as an OUTSIDER. This is all explained at the end of the episode.

Sheldon’s photographic memory has been working since he was 23 months old that’s impressive
Hyperthymesia: being able to recall events in one's life very specifically and in various detail. He pretty much remembers everything when his brain started working
He's stated he remembers his birth and that it was not a picnic and his mom turns around is is basically like it was no walk in the park for me either
I've got a few flashes from being that young. My memory mostly came in between 3 and 4 I don't remember every day but I remember a few.

Actually remembering when you were that young aside, this is pretty accurate in terms of how siblings act, right down to the eldest pitting their frustrations on the youngest.

Why was Sheldon more rounded of a person when he was younger loll he's concerned for the family, has natural conversations with his sibs, doesn't have some odd OCDs that he later developed...
Getting older does take its toll. Even for Sheldon
Small, untreated idiosyncrasies can grow into large personality flaws in adulthood.
I mean part of that could be that he still has his family at this point. Don't forget his parents do get divorced after Sheldon walks in on his father and another woman when he is around the age of 13 and then about a year later his father passes away. They make mention that him and his brother are not on speaking terms and I believe Meemaw had also passed away before TBBT. So the only family he has left is his mother and sister who both make appearances in TBBT. Having such unstable teen years can really make social issues a lot worse.
@@raziel710 uhh Meemaw makes an appearance as well when she comes to meet Amy. There's a whole conflict where Meemaw doesn't think Amy is good enough for Sheldon. Gets resolved in the end though.
@@wyattchandler6359 I missed that one, looking up the episode I see why. I used to watch the show with my Mother-in-Law and she passed away the same month that episode aired. My knowledge about the show after that is spotty.
This definitely shows that Sheldon is a kid genius, if he can remember something like this at such a very, very young age.
Being a genius and having an eidetic memory aren't the same thing. Just like being a lightning calculator doesn't make you a mathematician.

It’s amazing how different young Sheldon is from older Sheldon in some ways.
True, but part of that is likely that the time skip between entering Cal Tech and the start of TBBT are some very significant formative years and he was living independently at a very early age while working and studying largely with adults. I can see how over that decade or so he would change in many ways.

Yeah, hard to say if that is just general revulsion at his struggle or whether that is Sheldon doing math and realizing his dad's health is really at risk.
I barely remember my childhood memories at the age of 13 but I still remember when I was born. that was one of my core memories when I had diabetes to when I was 1 year older in 1989, before I was a baby in 1988. it took me A while to process those a lot of my childhood memories was when I was a teenager in my teenage years in the early 2000s 🧐

I remember watching the news about 9/11 on tv in our holiday home. I was 22 months old. I also remember our first visit to my aunt and uncle's new home as well as their wedding. It was about two months later.
