I love this kind of thing. She could have easily won simply with popularity, her pretty smile, and the tiniest bit of issues, but she had to play dirty and throw stones while she lived in her own glass house.

In the south, the only school programs with money is football and wrestling. (sometimes baseball) And, Wrestling usually has to share equipment with football. B: Due to Sheldon's quirks he tends to get more attention than the other children. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to be his sibling.

I don't remember Sheldon insulting football or Texas in TBBT. He hates it, but never disrespected it. Now I know why.
He didn't really ever insult football in young Sheldon he was just upset that the school put very little into the science department and put a lot of their funding into football.
It's the kindness display by Mrs MacElroy toward Sheldon that I like the most. She seems pretty supportive of him and almost protective in her own way. She believed the odds weren't in his favor and wanted to assure him there was no shame in throwing the towel (she was afraid he would be humiliated in his endeavour and wanted to spare him from that). After all, Sheldon is still a impressionable child despite being in high school.
She was not being kind, she hates Sheldon and was trying to psyche him out!!
I LOVE how Missy and Sheldon are complete opposites. A nerd-a chilled out girl, an introvert-a rebel...But at the end, they're always there for each other and things work out for both of them. A fusion of both personalities would be the perfect character!! L

True story. In 6th grade at Indian Head Elementary School, Kings Park, New York in the year 1969, we had student body election. The candidates gave the usual unimaginative forgettable speeches. The last candidate promised he would persuade the school administration to install soda machines. Everyone roared with applause. I knew he was going to win. I voted against him because health class and my mother taught that soda was bad for health. We didn't get soda machines. Years later I noticed schools have soda machines - a result of unrelenting marketing and "support" to the schools from the cola companies.
