    I upgraded my laotie TI30, as well, both (A/B) controllers, removed both flashing LED's, I didn't want the extra battery drain, not to mention, it's illegal/danger for motorcycles, cars, ect to have flashing bright LED's here because it can be distracting to the drivers. The main reason; I didn't want drivers to think It's a turning signaling and then I'm pavement. Anyway, I used rubber washers on a couple screws kind of like on a metal roofing system. I Used RTV sealer as a added protection, and just flushed it off on the back side So it doesn't puncture a wire.

      How do you like the new controller setup? Do you have the MS668 display?

    I have not checked the voltage of my Side RGB Strips yet, are you saying the wires that go to those RGB strips are 60 Volt strips and not 12 volt? If they were or are 12 Volt I would just wire the RGB controller to the existing wires to save space and the heat that will be dissipated from down-stepping the voltage. Keep up the videos, I am loving them! Its nice to see a person that has the same scooter as me, and that we both have similar interest in regards to the upgrades. I to REALLY dislike the side RGB lights, if they allowed me to keep one color and not always flash that would be different, but I feel like I'm a rolling seizure at night with those things lol.

      The stock side strips run directly off the switched battery voltage. No 12v or 5v available in the chassis. The converter doesn’t get hot.

    Nice content, recently ordered a laotie es19, waiting for it to arrive, i searched all day for electric scooter rgb mods, prob going to do this too, rgb adds more 10 km/h to the scoot haha

      @Desert-Ecruising  Před 10 měsíci

      😂 The parts only cost around $35 so fairly cheap. The headlight upgrade is also a big improvement for $25. Well worth it if you’re gonna ride at night. Assuming the ES-19 has the same crappy headlights as the ti-30.

      @Desert-Ecruising  Před 10 měsíci

      @@RgbWaveure, as long as it puts out the correct voltage (likely 5v with a power bank.) Won’t be very clean though with a cable running from the bag down into the chassis. But if that’s not an issue for you, that would work fine.

    Hey @Dessert-Ecruising I have a question that you may or may not have come across yet, I have taken my Scooter apart, and I am unable to find a fuse or breaker of any kind in it, is this scooter not protected? (besides the BMS) The only place I suppose I have not checked would be inside the battery case...hrmmm Any information would be helpful, because if it doe snot have any fuses and or breakers, I will be adding one for sure.

    • @Desert-Ecruising
      @Desert-Ecruising  Před 10 měsíci +1

      No fuses. None of my scoots have them. I believe the BMS takes the place of a fuse. Not sure what size fuse you would use. Would have to be pretty big considering the peak current the battery is capable of. Would either be blowing the fuse if too small or never blowing if too big.

    • @PatricksDIY
      @PatricksDIY Před 10 měsíci +2

      @@Desert-Ecruising Yeah I would base it off of the total Peak current from each controller combined, not the max current the battery can push itself. So if each controller is 45 AMPS, that's 90AMPS, then I can see getting away with using a 150AMP MEGA Fuse or 150 to 200AMP DC Breaker, Because Yeah 150AMPS is more than the controllers are rated for, but I'm more worried about protecting the battery since its the most expensive part and can dead short out to way above 150AMPS, so if one did occur my 150 AMP Fuse or Breaker would save the battery and I would only need to replace the cheap controller. I build Batteries for Solar Storage, that's what made me think of this, granted mine are not 60 Volts, they are 48 volts, but its the same concept. Thanks for the information, I will be connecting an inline fuse from the battery to the controllers since I now know there is not one. Looking forward to your next video!

    I'm like a kid just before Christmas day, waiting impatiently for the new sine wave controller. Do you think it will make the motors more quiet? My motors moan quit a bit at low revs, resonating out through the scooter. I also have an annoying squeaky noise from what I believe to be the folding mechanism. I haven't ever folded mine since I bought it a year ago and I'm thinking of welding it.

      I have my new controller set now but will be a few weeks at least before I install them. Doing a bunch of mods to mine, only have ridden it one time for the GPS test run video. Another week or so and I’ll start riding it. Want to get some testing in with the stock controllers before swapping, to see what difference there is. if any.
