In all the cases of long running franchises, the most recent titles didn't deliver well and close to the expectations of a "new gen" (PS4) sequel. Like, to stay on topic of minor details, one example is SF5's poor and lazy job in game over screen compared to SF4.

It's unfortunate that this game didn't get nearly enough apprieciation when it first came out. I bought it immediately because until this came out, the 1st Tekken Tag was my favorite.

The way Tekken 7 is now, with all the seasons and DLC, is the way it should've been on release. All previous Tekkens were released fully completed. Now we have to pay devs on a subscription for them to complete their games lol.

Eh i wouldn't hope for it, Tag2 fluke could be the sign for them to "not try too hard" because it still can fail. Ofc no real dev in their right mind works for failure but at the same time when you put so much effort into something and it doesn't get appreciated you as a dev feel heartbroken

Maybe these up and downs of "care" are natural in the games' lives. Like the makers who overworked in a certain game get lazy to work the same way in the direct sequel. Still that's more worrying in the case of TK, because it really had an incredible growth in TK7. Maybe it's one of the biggest success of a kinda bland sequel in modern fg history (much different than SF5 and MvCI for example). We can't be assured that now for TK8 the devs will care about special details again.
I enjoyed Tag 2 more than Tekken 7, not sure why but it feels more complete and have more options. If they release this for the PS5 with updated moves and tekken 7 characters, it will be amazing.
Im pretty sure that Tag 2 had much bigger budget than Tekken 7, Whenever Tekken 8 comes out, if Harada isnt knee high up his own ass, its probably going to be an awesome content rich game like tag 2, since T7 was a huge success and the extra dlc sales were crazy.

Impressive job by Namco. That was the most advanced detail in a minor scenario (like game over screen) featured in a team fg. MvC and KoF never did something even close, and they are older and more established team fgs. (Taking TTT as a separate title) And even in single fgs today that's not found often.

Sinked so many hours in Tag 2, it was a love letter to every fan who loved Tekken from the start and MAN was it good (though very questionably balanced but hey it was fun).
After watching Tekken Netflix series now I want more interactions with Jun and Mishima/Kazama family. I miss Tag 2. One of the best stage (and probably best customization 🎵 ever) soundtracks of Tekken. Takes you back to previous Tekken with mix of modernism. Plus these interactions are hilarious 😂 Gosh I want a tag 3 even. Awesome video Gigas!!!

Tag 1 had a playable Ogre that has multiple touches of death & Tag 2 let you choose between single & tag to make the balance even worse than regular tag vs tag. MvC and KoF never did something even close, and they are older and more established team fgs. (Taking TTT as a separate title) And even in single fgs today that's not found often.

I miss Tag 2. One of the best stage (and probably best customization 🎵 ever) soundtracks of Tekken. Takes you back to previous Tekken with mix of modernism. Plus these interactions are hilarious 😂 Gosh I want a tag 3 even. Awesome video Gigas!!!
