Nothing to do with military music but as you're a guy in the military I'm sure you'll find this story quite funny, it's not my own but a friend of mine but I still like to share it. Everyone knows that lots of funny shit goes on in the military so I asked my friend, a former veteran, whats the funniest story he had from his time training. It of course involved an instructor but not in the way you might expect. This instructor was apparently even more of a hard ass than was typical of other instructors, big dude with a lazy eye and an angry face. My friend said the guy was like a hall monitor just always looking for reasons to yell at someone and when there was no reason to yell he'd make something up so he could yell. One day my friend was outside doing some form of punishment by a fountain with a group of fellow recruits when this instructor came steaming over. He started shouting at one of the recruits for not working fast enough which is when the recruit yelled back "sir, are you yelling at me or the fountain, sir!" My friend said it was the only time he saw the instructors break character so to speak as they started giggling and looking away. Even the angry instructor had to turn away to chuckle and he actually didn't punish the dude for his remark, just told him to get back to work while he struggled to hold back laughter. Apologies if I get any ranks/army speak wrong. I never served.
