    Burning Alignment is for sure one of those spells that just did not transition well to ultra unit size hp. I remember in WH2 it used to absolutely MELT shit if you hit with it.

      @@tomatoesofdoom I wonder if they tuned the damage down going into game 3 then? All I know is it doesn't do shit in game 3 and back in game 2 it was very good when it hit things, I just assumed it was the hp changes.

    I like how the game's meta changes dynamically and unpredictably. Slaanesh was top at the beginning of the game, then dropped below average halfway through, and now it's experiencing a renaissance again.

      Yeh, another whiner. Changing the meta is natural, Turin has mentioned many times that they are trying different combinations or counters. The game is so rich that many interesting moves have still not been discovered. For me this is a positive feature, because if the game were 100% predictable it would also be boring

    130 armor (Tehenhauin's Stegadon mount in this case) affects AP units' damage more than one might think. Even at the Exalted Keeper of Secret's very high 3/4 AP proportion, the non-AP damage will be reduced by ~85% on average, for a total of 21.25% passive damage reduction. Not bad at 10K HP!

    8:14 the fact that even the horsemen that got hit directly by the bean still survived is so sad, either they need to make it way bigger or raise the damage to really carve into a unit.

    I've like Tehenhauin vs Slaanesh since I discovered he could solo Sigvald back when SL was the top faction. Frenzy really improves his both his dueling and infantry clearing ability relative to Mazdamundi. The ward save also makes him the tankiest LL on the roster. A standard Slaan is still a better value engine for its cost, but Tehenhauin is the best when your priorities are to kill heavy infantry and not die.

  • @Khorothis
    @Khorothis Před 5 měsíci +31

    I never thought I'd ever say this but Lizard Moses carried this game, hard. Even if you had expected him to be so tanky, I don't think you could have won this, you would have needed a Shadow caster to deal with all that Saurus, so that you could isolate the Kroxigors without letting them eat your front line like they ended up doing.

    • @Weberkooks
      @Weberkooks Před 5 měsíci

      even the shadow caster just dropping pit of shades its such an expensive spell I think people still think its great mostly because of the previous patches where it was busted

      @@WeberkooksI was thinking about Melkoth's and possibly Pendulum because, as you said, PoS is too expensive, especially against Lizardmen who can just put a bubble down and negate 20% of the damage.

    Personally I feel like the feasting on souls skill could work well if it charges when the enemy flees.
    Or if it’s a passive skill that increases its effect based on how long you spend with units fleeing.
    As it is healing while a wavering unit is nearby is pretty limited.

    • @13g0man
      @13g0man Před 5 měsíci +4

      Its a skill thats best with low leadership factions. If you can set up a chain rout you can heal your unit while preventing them from rallying, then return and charge into the next fight.

    Like Turin said rampage does very little against lizardmen because unless they are bringing razordons or salamander hunting packs there is nothing squishy and valuable to rampage. They can also remove the rampage if it's not used on the lord. Also since bastiladons got the immune to flanking passive it means that it's virtually impossible for slaanesh to kill a rev crystal unless it's insanely isolated. Dunno what the lord choice would be here. It feels like the daemon lords can't duel any lizardman lord to death and they can't get their healing or mortis effects due to the leadership being so high. Lack of armor is also an issue against lizards since you get constantly pelted by javelins. Maybe just bring Sigvald to stand on point and get the chaos sorcerer to spam for lore passive or shadow caster so you could at least win the infantry fight.

      Poison - 'the Serpent ensures their weapons are sharp to satisfy the cruel inventiveness of their twisted minds to toy with their victims before dispatching them. Devoted Marauders wield the Serpent's mutating gifts in the manner of swords and spears, as well as Hellscourges, living whips of pure torment blessed by the Dark Prince and laced with poison.'
      Charge Reflection - The hellscourges aren't just whips, they have hooks on the end of them to snare onto charging enemies and rip at them as they pass

    • @baconeater5557
      @baconeater5557 Před 5 měsíci +3

      Someone already gave you the lore explanation, but from a game design perspective the faction wants an anvil to hammer into. The army the designers were likely envisioning was a holding line of defensive hellscourge infantry pinning the enemies forces while daemonettes work the flanks and cavalry dominates the mobility game.

    • @coops2788

    • @Swampert919
      @Swampert919 Před 5 měsíci +2

      The poison mechanic in this game is an efficient way to represent the mind dulling effect slaneeshi units have on their victims with its various debuffs, while also being lore accurate as stuff like seekers have poisonous tongues in lore.
      And while the slaneesh chaos warriors and chosen are atypical for the faction they are chaos warriors, there’s a certain expectation of them being slow and tough linebacker units… they could have made them much squishier and faster for slaneesh but then they ain’t chaos warriors anymore. Plus it’s good to have a few unit that fall outside of the faction’s typical archetype so they function better as a whole, like how nurgle needs some units with mobility slaneesh needs some units that can hold the line.

    I never understand the obsession with skirmish cav Turin. They just seem to do sweet FA most of the time, always getting mid value over the course of a game but nothing ever decisive enough that seems worthwhile. You might have won that game if you had binned off the skirmish cav, got more cheap marauder spears for cap weight and to gum up kroxigors, then spammed the slaanesh lore passive like you said with spells like Lash to clear off the skink poking.
