I sat out this past 2K24 since buying the game from 2K12 to 2K23 and drawing a hard line in the sand when they announced the badge regression and battle pass. Mind you, I accidentally bought the game TWICE this year and successfully returned it and it’s currently free and sitting in my library to download bc of PS+ but on principle I said yeah this game is not getting better and I won’t even play it for free, bc it’s almost impossible to play without VC and it’s getting worse in terms of gameplay. People would enjoy and not care if they were an 86 overall or etc and go to the park to play. People also only had 3 builds max . Now everybody wants to be a 99 2 weeks in with 8+ builds . That’s why you don’t even see my career content anymore, ppl stop caring and just wanted to “win” (saw birth of zens) . People don’t even play with randoms anymore because of that but they did in 2k18
For the next gen ones, if you go to Play Now you can invite your friends and pick the All-Star teams and have it function like the Team-Up mode. My cousin and I usually team up and try to beat all the All-time and Decades teams together that way.
I agree with what you said about 2k20. I hit legend and streamed my grind. I was a super small streamer maybe averaged 10-12 viewers at a time. I hit over 1K viewers when I hit legend with big time streamers and CZcamsrs dropping by. 2k was at its peak in 20 and I don’t think the lockdown was the only reason.. good stuff as always badgey

Yeah bro, it’s awful how “no squads” court is filled by 3 sweaty purples 99% of the time because how bad the city spacing/user interface is. Literlaly just have a single park with like 3 2s courts, a 1s court or 2 maybe, and 4 3s courts or soemthing like that
Not even to mention that some courts straight up don’t get any matchmaking because how far and space away they are from the other courts. It’s obviously bound to happen , but I feel like the 2k20 park made it so even the furthest courts could still get games consistently.

I am very ignorant to the current state of the game. The last 2K I played was 2K19, which I did enjoy quite a bit. Transitioned to PC around the time '20 came out and by the time I felt like playing 2K again, they were on, "new gen," which PC did not get. That being said, I am cautiously optimistic because I do want to scratch that basketball itch. With 2K25 being next gen on PC, I may get the opportunity to do so. I just hope the gameplay is solid to make up for the issues you addressed in this video.
imagine a rank system like cod ranked play, since 2k already has seasons, rookie to legend and then top 500 and it resets every season i feel like it will give you a reason to grind every season and streams would be fire again. lets say legend its 15000 points to hit legend every season and then after that you got to keep playing to get points to maintain your top 500, matchmaking only not like pro am the, if you lose you lose points if you win you win points until you reach the top they gotta show us how many points we win and lose tho that would be fire. Even MLB has a rank system like that it resets every season.

What I wouldn’t give for the 2k16 style parks instead of the city
I am very ignorant to the current state of the game. The last 2K I played was 2K19, which I did enjoy quite a bit.
Transitioned to PC around the time '20 came out and by the time I felt like playing 2K again, they were on, "new gen," which PC did not get.
That being said, I am cautiously optimistic because I do want to scratch that basketball itch. With 2K25 being next gen on PC, I may get the opportunity to do so.
I just hope the gameplay is solid to make up for the issues you addressed in this video.

imagine a rank system like cod ranked play, since 2k already has seasons, rookie to legend and then top 500 and it resets every season i feel like it will give you a reason to grind every season and streams would be fire again. lets say legend its 15000 points to hit legend every season and then after that you got to keep playing to get points to maintain your top 500, matchmaking only not like pro am the, if you lose you lose points if you win you win points until you reach the top they gotta show us how many points we win and lose tho that would be fire. Even MLB has a rank system like that it resets every season.
the hardest part about playing 2K truly is the community. like ive never seen so many grown men be such crybabies about a video game lol and the constant negativity surrounding every aspect of the game is exhausting. it would be a breath of fresh air if a new bball game came out that emphasized more collaboration within the community and less negativity. thats a serious pipe dream tho lol
