What do you think that is that we pulled out of the engine?!
It's definitely a dinosaur.
Wait so it's not just an early GM EGR valve, they looked way different back then right🫤
no the car needs a rebuild again she not doomed she just needs little work in the engine.
Yes I think it’s an opossum too
it’s my gma, dw we were jus playin hide and seek
Definitely an opossum. As long as there's no major rust on the frame or body, it's a restoration candidate for sure!
idk, could be a martar
Possum. We eat these things in GA. Restore this jewel. Wow
Yep, restore for sure.........Parting it out would be a horrible mistake.
I oppose to that😁
@@JoesGoldenGarage
That’s just nasty, we have millions of deers, moose, ducks, turkeys, hogs running around but you choose to eat some nasty rat, why not eat pigeons
Full rebuild... nostalgic value alone will bring such joy and memories to some lucky someone.
I really love the watching the work with music and no talking dog. Your brief talking is great.
Definitely a rebuild, this is a true jewel of a find, awesome!
Great job guys! I respect what you do for a living as I am a car detailer myself. That car is definitely work saving. I wouldn't do a full blown out restoration but definitely an engine rebuild.. go through the brakes and suspension.. new tires.. carpeting.. and fix the damaged front end.
From my experience "worth" has everything to do with the individual.
For me, that car is absolutely worth restoring. It's a piece of history and art that cannot be replaced. Thank you for saving it !
You guys deserve a medal for doing what you do
Definitely worth restoring!! Classic car🇺🇸
This car definitely qualifies for a rebuild!! It's a beautiful car.
That would ruin the real value...
@@jackjohnsen8506 Maybe I used the wrong word, Restore then? but make it look new again is what I meant.
@@princessamber292 That's OK Amber, you are not a car builder, or restorer, but I like the fact that you love cars. Most women are not car lovers, but you are! Thanks
I think that beauty should be restored. To see it up and running would be amazing.
Gosh!! I remember owning a old Buick Skylark...it had P O W E R! Loved it.
You guys do a phenomenal job on cleaning up classic cars. I am glad that you are in the Cleveland area because I WILL be taking my 63 Chevy Impala to you for a good cleaning once the weather break sometime in April..... Keep up the good work!!!!!!
It is really nice to see you guys bring this Buick back Life! at the age of 15 I was able to buy my first car a 1970 Buick skylark custom convertible and saying this refurbishment brings back some great memories, by all means I think it’s a great candidate for a restoration project. Job well done guys!
Ur old
@@ggggggg681 so?
@@dvader3000 hdf
@@ggggggg681 I’m not old, (I’m a classic)
@@dvader3000 should be @ A ROD
This car is definitely a candidate for a rebuild, it all depends how much it’s worth to you how much you want to spend on it to bring it back, personally I would do it, just because I love the style of it and also this year and make was my first car and it brings back a lot of memories 😉👍
Without engine rebuild, put between $5,000 an $10, 000 , and get between $12,000 and $15,000. If the upholestry can be done for less than $1000, then maybe a basic engine rebuild to stock. The car needs paint and body work. That is where the bulk of the money would go.
@@mt3311 that's the problem with old car. The ones that get restored and all the money spent on them are the ones young boys dream of owning as adults. There were very few of us dreaming of a Buick like grandma drove. If this were a GS, you'd have a car worth restoring.
practically speaking such cars can only be restored by people who have way too much time and money on their hands, but usually such people arent interested in doing that. Have you ever heard of Elon Musk or MrBeast restoring a car from this condition?
The 1968 Buick Skylark is arguably the nicest of the 1968 GM intermediates. It's well worth a rebuild. In fact it would be great as an upgraded resto-mod. @@mt3311
Definitely a restoration the car is solid but cool. It must be very gratifying to see the before and after you guys are done with it great job
Yes you guys should rebuild the car. Everything is still on it. Its an awsome car!!👍
I grew up about 20 miles west of Flint, Michigan. I knew people who worked at Buick, and other businesses like AC Sparkplug, etc. Same thing in Lansing, MI which was the home of Oldsmobile. Sadly, both of those cities have suffered greatly from the lack of car production. Nice job on that Skylark, guys!
In both cases, they cut their noses off to spite their faces. Union strikes, slowdowns, poor workmanships, and demands for higher and higher wages, all while union bosses got fat, bribed politicians and stole from the rank and file. The UAW has done more to hurt the US auto industry than anyone else through encouraged laziness and waste.
Always a pleasure to see you guys hard at work bringing these cars back to life. 0:01 I'm always excited for Saturdays
We try our best!
Wow i haven't seen a Skylark for many many years! Too cool.
Oh man I‘m impressed how solid the trunk looks!
Amazing job, she is now ready for a restoration and hopefully she'll be back on the road soon. Not only did you clean her up, you also made it safer for the people who are going to work on her.
P. S, that's a opposum, they are completely harmless and some people even keep them as pets. Unfortunately they have a really short lifespan of just 1-2 years so that little one probably made a nest and died from old age!
Not harmless...when cornered, they will absolutely fuq you up...
Referring to a car as "she" repeatedly, is no longer to be tolerated in our weird, PC society! lol
@@curbozerboomer1773 well, I think it's still a good thing because it's better than the alternative.
If the Floor pan isn't rusted out it might be worth saving. That's a lot of sheet metal work and hopefully the frame is still good. The front bumper is bent so needs replacing. If your pockets are deep enough it'll be a nice daily driver.
Wow really only 1-2 years?
Incredible transformation that now allows someone to see exactly what the car needs to be restored. I've always told guys that, first clean the whole car thoroughly then begin the restoration. Do you have any videos of cleaning an AMC car like a Rambler, Javelin etc?
One of the most impressive before & after vids on this channel. Looks very nice & I can see how a fan of this car could come & get it to next work on it. 💙
Awesomeness right there, coming from a car detailer that I am. I recognize the time & the effort. Blessings.
Everything I know about the Buick skylark I learned from my cousin Vinny. Great transformation! I think it should be fixed up and put back on the road.
That's Barney the dinosaur's long lost child. He's dead 🙁
Barney love child
No wonder why barney was not on TV anymore....
*ههههههههههههههه!!!*
Rebuilt fo sho
Nah that mf was disrespectful glad he’s dead
Please, rebuild this classic jewel. He deserves!!🤩👍
I'm from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. In my opinion this is a perfect restoration car. Is an jewel.
Thanks for this job.
As long as there is no major rust/rot on the frame it is a wonderful candidate for a restoration. You guys do amazing work, it is so impressive what you can do to cars. They almost look new
Frames can be repaired or replaced...
Needs front fender and front grill and bumper assy
That was mold on the door
@sykwookiee yes as long as the frame is good you can rebuild but that year of skylark is Undesirable
This car was a big challenge for you and you have done a great job to return it back to life again
Another amazing job ...wow ...love the yr ....its my born yr ..68 ...love the side modeling, the way it slants down....nice ....great job guys
I have one in my garage. Brown with a tan top & white interior. Thanks for saving this one.
This car is awesome I hope it doesn’t just get put back into a barn to rot like most people do. It deserves a second life it’s gorgeous
Love these old Buicks and I love this channel. Definitely one of my favorite videos I've seen you guys do.
This is awesome. That car took one foot out of its grave.
I owned a pretty 1968 Skylark, in the late 70s...with the robust 350V8, it was a fun car to drive...That was back when each GM division built their own engines!
I had a Buick Century, ( can't remember the year) , but I loved it. Broke my heart when the tyranny quit. I had to take the battery, tags and important papers so the tow truck couldn't bring it back and try to charge me for it. But I really missed it. I'm happy that they still make Buick and I would love to have a new one. My neighbor has one and I look at it every time I go out.
I've always been a GM man. My first was an Oldsmobile 88 , second , the Buick Century , and two Pontiacs , a Bonneville , and a Gran Prix , ( pronounced pree ). LOVED THEM ALL !
You made the old girl look fantastic! Awesome job
You ask if the car is worth saving/fixing/running? Sure, absolutely! Someone will love this old classic.
I'd say it's a 1968(?) Buick Skylark Custom, 2 door coupe, with a big old V8 motor. The "Custom" was the fancy trim package; it still has the rally wheels. The interior isn't half bad. The exterior is kind of rough, but it's solid and not too rusty. It has a good vinyl roof. Sure it was front ended, but the damage seems light. The car is all there; the glass, the trim, etc. It has parts in the trunk too!
You didn't say the mileage or engine size; but yes, someone will definitely fix this car up and run it. The car is not going to "Pebble Beach", but it would fit right in at a local car show. A high School kid would LOVE this car! Get laid in that back seat for sure!
The Buick Skylark is a GM "A body" car, the same body as the Chevy Chevelle and the Pontiac GTO two of the most iconic and coveted American "Muscle Cars" ever built. A fully restored, matching numbers big block '68 Chevelle or GTO sells for $100,000.+. Really.
Buy this car for a grand, do a boneyard motor swap... say a Buick 455ci of the same vintage. Mount new shocks and tires. Rattle can the hood and front fenders. Carpet the inside and it's off to the Drive-in movies with your high school girlfriend!!
But seriously, this car is worth money. I'd much rather have a barn car full of critters than a rusty shitbox sitting outside for years and up to the axles in mud with trees growing under the hood. This car is valuable. Let us know what your client did with this Skylark.

That's an incredible transformation. Awesome work guys .
Estou ansioso para ver esse clássico rodar novamente, parabéns pelo seu trabalho.
THIS OLD HOUSE, WITH Bob Vila.
Great job. I hope it gets a full restoration.
I love detailing cars and other vehicles. The before and after is amazing. Buick has always had there own style. This is one of them with fender skirts as well. Chrome and Black. Great combination. Awesome job guys. Shawn.
Thank you Shawn! We love what we do, and are amazed that people enjoy watching our work. It really has changed our lives!
@Shawn Beck......always had THEIR own style........illiterate idiot.....
Parabéns, excelente trabalho, very good!!!
Another great find! Impressive detail!
Cool car definitely worth saving 👌 I come from a large family my mother has 14 sisters and 1 brother and at 1 point nearly all of them had either a 68 or 69 skylark a couple of 4 door cars mostly coupes and a couple of gs I have a great memory of a family gathering for a birthday party or something and I went outside and there was over a dozen skylark parked on the street it is a great memory that I will never forget 👍
Full resto mod candidate in my book. You guys did a good job cleaning her up. 😎👍
Definitely restore this beauty
Great transformation. It sounds like the owner is interested in a restoration project.
Parabéns por este belo trabalho. Sou fã de carros antigos. irei acompanhá-los .
I have a 1969 Skylark GS which I worked on since May 2020. Paid $5000, for it med blue white top, 400 cu. in headers 3" exhaust AC 720482 miles when bought. Body and frame very good car was never painted. Now the bad had to put new windshield used front driver fender and I painted front fender to match well a very close match. I love this car and people always come up to it and ask about it.
OMG my very first car!!!! I bought it in 1978 when I was 19... Dark green with bucket seats...I installed an 8 track under the dash LOL i bought the car for $250 and spent $450 on a rebuilt engine!! ty for this video..brings back so many memories ❤️🖐️🍁😁🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
If a person had the money for it it would be a great candidate for a restoration you guys did a great job
WOW 😳 ! You guys did an amazing job 👍🏾
Rebuild that car!! That one is worth saving! Always loved the styling of the older Buick Skylark’s like those. Have a friend from my high school days that owned 3 of them like this one here
Kudos guys. My dad had one that belonged to my grandfather, and when I was 10 (1987) I asked my father if I could have it when I got older. He said sure, but then we fell on hard times and he sold it. I think about it often and would love to have one...
I can understand wanting to get ideas/opinions from fans, but guys, you know this car is worth restoring!!! Seriously minimal rust, great seats, dash and top! This baby deserves the FULL treatment! Give her a fresh coat of paint, new coating on those wheels, fresh carpet, LOTS of extra TLC she's ready!!!!
The car looked absolutely awesome after you guys cleaned it up. Nice job 👌
Forget the tires, you literally pumped dollars back into this thing. So many aesthetics buyers out there!
Wow 😲! Those hard work final results really amazing 🤩 you save old beautiful car bring back after 30 years. I know the owner that car very much happier see the car bring back to life. More expensive this generation ☺️🙏 watching from Philippines 🇵🇭💕💕💕
Looks like a possum from under the hood. As for the Buick you did (another) FABULOUS job getting it squared away. It’s certainly in good enough shape to save and I hope that is what happens! Good job, gents!
The car is a definite candidate for restoration. I was amazed to see how good the upholstery looked after cleaning. If you can remove the stink, that is! If $$ is no object, I'd probably install a new power plant.
VGG would get it going and drive it 600 miles home
I say a definite candidate for restoration from what I saw in the video. By the way GREAT job !! 👍
Buen trabajo amigo. Escatando un clásico , hermoso auto, Saludos desde Argentina.
Remarkable results 👏 👌 👍
I can almost hear that car letting out a sigh of relief ✨💖
Hi from France !
Amazing job guys ! Congrats for the work !
I do the same with old electric guitars... 😉
olá sou daqui do Brasil 🇧🇷 carro ficou extremamente limpinho e novo meus parabéns 👏
I reckon you guys are right, Opossum makes sense
Incredible work! Glad I'm local to you guys. One of these days I'd like to bring a car to you. Maybe even do a video on it.
Really love your videos. You guys always manage to do an amazing job. I'm from London, England and me and my son are thinking of starting up a detailing business. Your videos are a great inspiration to us. Keep it up!
Belo trabalho parabéns
When I decided to get an old school car, a '69 Buick Skylark was my first choice. I fell in love with the curves and lines of the vehicle. Great to see one of my all-time fav cars being given the treatment it deserves!
awesome
Amazing work !
Hello from France 🇫🇷 !!
Definitely a rebuild!
I know people would love to buy it!
Great work!!! Vacuuming and cleaning up all that filth isn’t for the faint of heart! It’s nasty stuff. I’m so glad you didn’t try to save that carpet because that was a full blown biohazard and it would’ve been a waste of time to clean it! Awesome work!
Very good find, good work clean.
Absolutely a resto/rebuild car!
Definitely worth saving and restoring
My dude....great content.
Please be careful pumping up such old tires, being so close to them, if they eventually pop you could get some really nasty injuries.
Keep up the good work! 👍
Verdaderamente quedo bien para como estaba me gustó mucho el vídeo . Me gustaría q mandarán más videos de otros autos . Saludos desde Mérida Yucatán México
Beautiful care, it was just perfect
wow, That's Amazing 👍👍👍
This car definitely deserves some TLC and restoration. Love seeing these old cars on the road. But still, the Packard didn't look to be any worse than this car..........would have loved to see whatnyou guys could have done with that car.
Impressive cleaning job, now to get it running.
Throw a modern drivetrain and brakes in it and fool everyone
Our buddy who bought it said he's going to tinker with it and see if he can get it to turn over!
Looks to be all original with the 350 2 barrel. Trunk pan looks good. Floors look solid. Interior is actually still pretty nice and all there. Front bumper shouldn’t be hard to find but grill might be tricky. It would be a shame to part out this car. Not any left in original condition like this. It even has the stock floor mats!
Донор найдётся,надеюсь.
Had one just like that at one time loved it
That was a possum at some point in time. This car is definitely a rebuild. The floors and body are in good condition.
Absolutely air condition V8 that's a gem totally restored that car you'll make three times what you put in it
Bonjour 👋 bravo pour votre travail de patience et la qualité 👍🏼
Restoration for this one guy's love it 😊😊
The interior and exterior do not look bad. Do a quick oil change, bypass the fuel tank, attach a new battery, and try to start the engine to determine if it becomes a restorable or a parts car.
Definite rebuild ! Can’t wait to see when it’s done !
Definitely rebuilt. Never scrap a car like that. Can’t believe it’s a question 😮
I agree. Rebuild that classic Buick!
Prime candidate for restoration, very solid from what we can see. I’ve worked on a lot worse than that. It would be a fun one to get crazy with, it isn’t a desirable trim like the GS so why not?
Beautiful!!! Any old car or truck that old is very much worth salvation!!! Just think, a lot of hard work, yes but just look at the beauty!? They definitely don't make vehicles like that anymore! Metal, takes a little more gas and will save your life; with experience in accidents these days, can't be too safe with today's driving idiots on the road, you'll certainly come out alive, just like this grandstand of a Buick!!!!!
los carros de antes estaban bien hechos tenían buenos materiales de calidad no ahora los carros de hoy son desechables no duran los 30 años que tiene este carro o más los felicito por su trabajo que hicieron con el carro saludos desde México city
How do you guys actually find these barn finds? I've been curious for years!
Usually word of mouth! Wait until you see the next one coming. It's NUTS
Great job, well done
Guess I’m just nostalgic about older cars, I would love to see it restored. You had a big job.
