I had a bad bike accident in 1995, almost died and lost my right foot. Once I was able to drive I bought a 91 RS v6 to get me around, it ended up being a big part of my recuperation and I loved that car. It didn't handle great or qo quick but I loved it and still have a soft spot for it, I've tracked down the original car and have a dream of one day buying it and renovating it. I always wanted to sort the suspension and handling then fit a super charger as there is already loads of V8 conversions around. Happy memories

These cars are part of the great American history. Oh how far we've come since then, but even 42 years later these cars are nothing short of timeless masterpieces. I hope they will be preserved in a museum somewhere for future generations to "ohhhh & ahhhh" over. Life is good.

It's sooooo satisfying to look a this process. Especially whith my favourite BMW. I don't know exact issue with these floor mats. But when I had E32 with original floor mats I had same issue. I believe they used some tar-foam base for the mats and over time it just loses its flexibility and this base starts peeling off. Driver's mat in my car didn't peel off that much, but it "shared" some tar with carpet under close to the gas pedal.

I wish the detailing of the headlights was included. Seeing the action of the headlights being raised and lowered on a Corvette is cool.

Nothing especially interesting about the Buick Centurian. The car replaced the Buick Wildcat starting in the 1971 model year and produced through the 1973 model year. The Centurian was more expensive and larger than the Le Sabre, Buicks most popular model for many years but not as luxurious as the Electra, Buicks top model for many years. For some reason the Buick Centurian must have not sold that well and this model was canceled after a short production run.

So you store 2 cars for 50+ years and don't use car covers? I don't buy it.

When I a kid, my folks bought a brand new 1955 Studebaker President Speedster. Green lower body, yellow upper body and green roof. It was awesome! Heads turned wherever we went.

That 1982 Collectors Edition Vette was $24 K new and you could have bought Three Mid Year Vettes for that much Money in 1982.

Idk anything about cars and prices other than detailing them, so my guess for a value of this…in the condition it’s in, the low mileage, obviously all original parts….can you get around $2-300K+ if you found a collector? Or is that low/high?

I drive a model 3 performance you go into settings and you can turn off the car. You have to do it from the screen Go to settings and search power down and then just press power down and it turns off all power to the car you push the brake to wake it back up

I’ve actually owned two Conquests. One an ‘88, the other an ‘89. Both red over black. Had a friend in high school that had an ‘87 that was Fiji Blue, coolest car I can remember from my teenage years! The car you are cleaning has a hood from an early car (prior to ‘85).

There should have been a decal or sticker on the lid of the air cleaner with the displacement on it, but if memory serves, these were available with up to the 460 in.³ V8. I have found that Wikipedia is an excellent resource for such detail is this on a lot of cars and trucks. also, these had one of the most bulletproof three speed automatic transmissions ever made… The C3 or C6? The floor shifter was just for engaging four-wheel-drive.

I have a 1979 c3 with 52,000 miles.i had to replace the wiring harness.was getting cracked due to age.i imagine those engines need to be gone thru as do the wiring and transmission.as the tires.but is great to see these.

427/400 crate motor

Had they basically not sat abandoned for decades they would easily be worth roughly 60k+ each based on what I’ve seen. However, because they are so trashed in the engine bays and were a home for animals, they might be lucky to make 15k, the low mileage doesn’t mean as much when the engine bay is trashed and the electrical is likely iffy and the inside likely still has nests inside the bodywork

maybe upgrade with a digital display speedometer and call it a day.

1982 there was still a federal mandate for speedometers to max out at 85mph. The Deloreans used for Back to the Future had custom speedometers so they could read 88mph and over for time travel speed.

The 85 MPH speedometer was a government regulation starting in 1980 I think, I’ve had 2 1981 vettes over the years with 85 mph speedometer but pegged it going 90-100 a couple times. Fun fact there was no 1983 corvette production year. They were tooling up for the new C4’s.

WD has a propensity for thinking vinyl is leather.
