    100% agree! I was not spanked or hit while growing up but my mother screamed at us every single day for everything, yelling all over the house. Almost like it was her “norm”. I remember as a young adult telling myself: I vowed that I wasn’t going to be treat my children like that. Today, married with 4 children (oldest 17, youngest 3). I don’t yell or scream. I have never ever hit, pushed, or hurt my children. In my most frustrating moments as a mother, I leave the room and find a place to be alone (even the restroom) and pray pray pray. The Lord comforts me, resets me, brings peace to my heart.

    Your fourth idea of doing something different, is really important. I call it “changing the channel”. When nothing else helps, sometimes simply getting some fresh air by going for a walk is great. Movement activities (like your daughter’s cartwheels!) also really helps reset emotions for me and my family.

    Thanks Jadey. I have a 5 year old granddaughter that I have been teaching this. I was teaching her what I do which is taking the deep breaths in thru the nose and slowly releasing & smiling so I was doing 2 of your 4 techniques already! She’s very head strong & I’m trying to implant love at all times. I do get discouraged when I often see her not feeling any gratitude or expressing it,but being demanding. I remind myself she is just 5 & yet such an intelligent little girl. I try my best to always express gratitude. I only have her a couple of times a week but I love how you are with your children & I love the tone of voice video too. I was a strong willed child, so was my son, & now her, so I’m sure it’s all coming from me, or my dad…..God changed my life while a young mother but still…all things take time. I have much more gentleness now than when my son was small. 🙏🏻

    Sadly, i only learned all these techniques later in life, after i got married. I used to hold a grudge for the longest time, thinking it teaches the person im mad at smth. Like silence treatment ever solved anything😅 it used to make me miserable to stew in my own negative thoughts. My husband taught me right away to communicate it. To let it out. Say what i think is wrong, come to resolution or compromise and let go. Since then my life was transformed dramatically and as a result we have the healthiest and most loving relationship. And i try my best to tesch my children the same techniques. To let it out. Communicate your anger, find a solution or compromise, apologize if necessary, make peace and let go. ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you Jady!!!! Truly remarkable tools you hsve shared with us! May God bless all of your wonderful family❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Jady, what would you recommend us do for a four year old that loves boxes? She is so creative and loves to make her own toys, but I really don’t know what to do with all the boxes and craft supplies anymore. She also takes stuff from all over the house and makes “things” with them, but I don’t know what to do with them. Should I just have her put it all back? Would it be killing her creativity if I threw away all her creations? I really don’t know. Any tips? I’m all ears. Thank you

  • @enhancedhealthuk
    @enhancedhealthuk Před rokem +1

    I like these techniques. We already do the breathing for my three year old. However, I’d like to add one thing to your list… allowing your children to be sad rather than immediately going to smiling. Reason being you can choose to have a good attitude but if your child has been wounded emotionally then a smile isn’t enough. They need to know God loves them even though they’re sad. I would hate for my child to feel like they always have to be happy. In fact we have little wooden toys that show all of the different emotions. I just want to caution parents not to push an unhealthy expectation that their kids must be perfect and get over things quickly. Let’s be honest God doesn’t require that of us. So please whilst I love this video just take caution with the whole smile thing.

    • @JadyA
      @JadyA  Před rokem +3

      I understand the smile does not come easy but getting angry and upset over small petty things is habitual and I want children to know they can change that frown to a smile if they choose to let it go. I pray with my children daily every time I discipline them because this battle can not be fought alone. If they do not want to smile do not push it, my kids enjoy changing the frown to a smile and we turn it into a joke most days! Petty things need to be let go of and handled differently.

    This seems unrealistic for older children. I have a 8 and 10 year old boys who can't seem to focus on anything. Your concentration videos didn't help I took their devices but it didn't work because they remembered all the garbage from their devices.. can you make a video to aim for older children who may have already too far gone. What do we do to get them to behave and focus

    • @JadyA
      @JadyA  Před rokem +12

      What seems unrealistic is to think that by introducing a technique one day or an activity will somehow miraculously change years of damage. It takes work to mold children and ultimately you are responsible for that molding. It takes a long time to change bad behavior in children. Habits take atleast 45 days to become engrained. If you want them to change it will take work, patience and perseverance.
