I was ready to "pull the trigger" on buying a heritage which I wasn't that excited about, and then I saw your video, SOLD. Watched video on Monday, found Super Wrangler locally on Tuesday, and I bought it. Lucky for me, dealer has range on site, so I put 72 Federal Champion mags and a dozen lr's down range and I love it. Solid feel and action, and the finish is amazing, especially considering the price, 279. Sights need a little tweaking, but that's to be expected. I paid about $200 if my memory serves me right. I've had several issues with it, less than 250 rounds in I had to ship it back for repairs because the hammer won't stay back, or if it did, a literal scrap of paper was enough pressure to pull the trigger. They repaired it at no charge, but it kinda soured my opinion of the gun. Don't get me wrong, it's still a blast to shoot, but the fact it needed repairs that quickly raised my concern about their "quality control". I wish this had been available at that time. I was just making comedy about the fact that the 22WMR does in fact produce a big flame front when shot from a pistol because it was and is designed for rifle length barrels. It is also crazy load for the same reasons. Obviously non of these things detract from or prevent its use in a a pistol. It’s about time they at least have something in 22 mag. I still think heritage still has a alot going for it with barrel lengths. I am picking up a barkeep for squirrel hunting for a good challenge. And a kit gun. As someone who owns both you can’t go wrong no matter what your preferences are.

    Marlin should bring back the 39A as the long gun sister companion to this new Wrangler...Obviously, it would interrupt Ruger's big bore lever action fetish...but if they kept the price humane,, it would be a great add-on sale..

    • @deniswauchope3788
      @deniswauchope3788 Před rokem

      That would be great, but I very much doubt Ruger can make the 39A and make it affordable. Besides, their 10/22 is a real good seller for them, and there are tons of accessories available. I have a Marlin 39A and love that gun, & also have a Marlin 56 which is in some ways even better; but those guns were made when actual gunsmiths worked on the fitting. Nowadays most guns are made by machines from start to finish, and there isn't much hand fitting.

    I checked one of these out today at the local Rural King. They were on sale but only had one left. I was ready to buy it until I educated the salesperson to the fact that the receiver was made of steel alloy. He had to test it out busy putting a magnet on the receiver. It sure enough was steel. Unfortunately, when he took the magnet off, finish had some scratches on it. Needless to say, I passed on it. That being said, I am not sold on the durability of those finishes. I am a little OCD about my guns, and I don't think the Wrangler finishe would hold up over time. I think it would be hard to touch up as well..
