- Victor Osimhen is a professional footballer who currently plays for Napoli and the Nigerian national team as a striker.
Osimhen who was born on December 29, 1998, grew up in the Lagos suburb of Olusosun, idolizing former Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba.
The Napoli striker has a strong religious background and is a devout Christian. He was brought up as a Christian, and he has talked about the significance of his faith in his life. He frequently posts Bible scriptures on his social media platforms and repeatedly states that his faith gives him courage and drive.
Osimhen first started playing football at the Ultimate Strikers Academy before traveling to Europe to play for several clubs.
His father, like many other Nigerian parents, wanted him to become a doctor, but he decided to pursue a career in soccer instead. And as luck would have it, he was among the tens of thousands of eager young people who had just 15 minutes to show what they could do at the 2014 Nigeria Under-17 team screening in Abuja, which was organized by Coach Emmanuel Amuneke.
He managed to score two goals in a very short time frame, but that was not enough to convince the coach, So he dismissed Osimhen and some others.
However, Osimhen's breakthrough eventually came in 2015, when he helped the Nigerian U-17 team win the FIFA U-17 World Cup and was given the Silver Ball and Golden Boot awards. Due to his impressive performance, he was noticed by several European clubs, and in 2017 he joined Wolfsburg in Germany.
Unfortunately, the gifted striker's promising debut season in the Bundesliga was cut short after only four months due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. Osimhen's physical troubles persisted when he became ill again after a successful operation, causing him to miss the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
After nearly two traumatic seasons, Osimhen eventually overcame the obstacles he faced. But due to inconsistency caused by injury and illness, he failed to score a single goal for Wolfsburg, therefore ending his career in Germany.
Moving on, Osimhen tried out for Belgian clubs Club Brugge and Zulte Waregem during the summer, but both clubs turned him down owing to his poor physical condition. He did, however, thank ex-Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez for his assistance in training during their time together at the club.
Osimhen ultimately scored his first goal in his debut for Charleroi FC on September 22 after moving to the Belgian club on loan in 2018. He continued to play for the club, scoring 20 goals in 36 games.
Osimhen made a successful transition to France in July 2019, joining Lille OSC after dominating Belgium.
After his transfer, the Nigerian striker saw a dramatic rise to fame, becoming one of the finest young attackers in the league with 13 goals in 27 games for the French team, finishing as Lille's top scorer.
Then, in the summer of 2020, Napoli of Serie A announced that they had signed Osimhen for a club-record cost of €70 million, which likely increased to €80 million factoring add-ons.
Victor became the club's most expensive transfer. He also became one of the most expensive African footballers in history after Napoli reportedly paid €70 million for him.

I have appreciated Napoli so much for intelligently chosen Victor & the great love with no racism not like what Germany did to Jay Jay Okocha that prevents him and them at the same time of making a greater achievement like Osimhen.
