Just received my Lux WC CF. I noticed they heavily padded that area in the packing where yours was damaged, so they either learned from the mistake or yours wasn't packed properly.
Had a similar hole in my Lux Trail box but luckily no scratches on the bike. I saw some brand of bikes put pictures of TVs on their boxes and they saw a great decrease in damage to their bikes during shipping.
Nice to see someone else riding in the Don Valley with a Canyon. I ordered a Spectral 125 and it looks like whoever installed the bottom bracket messed up and the tool slipped resulting in a gash just above the BB. I was a bit worried the frame was cracked or compromised but it looked superficial. Also my bike came with an incompatible dropper post lever. The final straw was about a week in (still haven't ridden it at this point) when the cables in the rear triangle started squeaking. I think I might have just gotten a lemon so I decided to return it, which was a pain since I had to repack it and have to file a claim with CBSA for the taxes and duties I paid. I don't know why people gripe about Canyon CS though, being in Germany they responded a few times per week and I was able to get free shipping and a tubeless kit for my troubles.

I had the same issues with my lux trail but had multiple rock size paint chips. They said it’s due to the courier but I’ve seen a lot of people with the same issues. They only thing they will do is will offer you small compensation or send the bike back and wait for the lux trail to be available again. Tough choice as winter is fast approaching and you won’t be able to get a new lux trail until next year.
I ordered the same bike and I can confirm that I had the same hole on the packaging. luckily the bike is ok! only the quick pin slightly scratched. I would add that I had returned a LUX CF 7 20 days earlier with the SAME damage on the top tube and the same hole on the cardboard, Canyon has to work on the packaging which by the way also expansive a lot. @@WhatTheTrail Yes, I counted the customer service, who has always been kind and quick in replying, the first Lux once the photos of the damage were sent was returned on the same day of delivery and I received the refund by bank transfer after 3 days. With the Lux trail instead they told me to check if everything was OK, and so it was :)
Great bike sorry about your problems. Getting used to 29 takes some time especially coming from a smaller framed and wheeled bike. I came from an old 26’er and move to a large Norco Optic, you’ll have to get used to the dropper post, it’s been a life saver. You’ll find the 29’er are great for rolling over thinks that you may have got hung up on before.

Hi John, thanks! My bike is much bigger than my old Trek Marlin - Small. But I wouldn’t say it is too big. It is in the upper end of sizing for me. It feels a lot more stable as well, but it might just be the bike geometry. I would recommend using the site 99spokes to compare the exact sizing to other bikes you might have tried. In terms of spend, I paid the listed price to Canyon, along with the cost of the Bikeguard box (around 100). After that I was charged by UPS for Duties ($578) and taxes ($666) and other fees, the total was around $1280 on top of the bike price. Hope that helps!

Hi! The reach of my lux trail is 440mm, I would say I feel comfortable in it. The overall bike fit feels better than my Trek. In my marlin I feel my weight is too forward.
I ordered a CF-8 and received my bike with the same damage. I’m still waiting for a feedback from level 2 service center. Hope we will hear from them soon.

I think it would be very nice of Canyon to send you a new frame but I suspect they'll have you go through shipping insurance, hopefully the insurance on shipping covers the frame costs. The damage on the carbon frame would be worrying for sure, If you get a frame shipped i'd request extra packaging :(

I felt a punch in the stomach when I saw the scratch . It looks very deep and also the back axle looks seriously scratched. This can be done only with heavy forces applying to the packaging.. My experience with the same bike was , that I ordered it, and then realized that I have ordered a M while I am 171cm and the person in the support line (which I really appreciate his help) assisted me to cancel my order, thank god before shipping. Now I wait for the Small sizes to come out and buy it again, as I seriously need to practice and my old bike cannot handle the way I do things anymore... I hope that they will replace it for you, or that the UPS or whoever done this damage will refund you. For most of the people that ride, bikes are more than "expensive things" and we make life efforts and decisions to purchase them. Good luck by me!

Hi Jhojan, I would say so. I have only had the experience of switching from a small Trek to a small Lux Trail and the Lux Trail is more like a Trek Medium, but I was always in between sizes with Trek so even though it feels larger it still fits me okay.

@@WhatTheTrail I would say the 30 day return window doesn't apply if the bike is damaged. Therefore no worries, you can probably choose between a discount or you will have to send the bike back and order a new one by yourself.

Yeah, ideally they would replace it. Not sure what to expect, I’ve read on some forums on other bikes that they provide partial refunds.
I ordered CF 6 too. Arrived and had the same scratches at the exact same spot. Already emailed them for a return.
