LEGO Technic McLaren P1 42172 has 7 SPEED GEARBOX!

- Äas pĆidĂĄn 9. 07. 2024
- The LEGO Technic McLaren P1 42172 has finally, been officially revealed! Is this the single most advanced lego technic 2024 set? It actually includes a working 7 speed transmission, with those drum and fork pieces introduced in the yamaha motorcycle! It is not just a reskinned ferrari daytona. But rather, it is an actually new car with brand new, never before seen mechanisms inside! I cannot wait to make my LEGO Technic McLaren P1 review, which is coming very soon!

why LEGO realsing all the intresting sets when i dont have money for them
that is always a constant of our lives
Fr đ
Why donât you have money
If I had infinite money Iâd easily buy every single set from every single theme. Sadly I gotta prioritize certain sets over others
â@Unbrickme that's were duckbricks comes in...
cant wait to buy this set, i love complex sets like this
Same here! Which set are you most excited for out of the August wave?
@@Unbrickme the porsche gt4 seams intressting with the new hub. i see you have it already
Nice sets in the background, cant wait for the reviews!
Thanks! Many more to come
why lego doesnt make something like fiat multipla in 1:8 scale
đ
Thats the best idea ever
â ïž
you are laughing but i mean something like that - practicly i mean random car out of normal cars with fwd, 4 piston engine and five or six speed manual gearbox
@@jojojojovlak2510they make Lego sets to sell many, not just to make sets for the hell of it. A fiat wonât sell that well and Lego will loose a bunch of money on it
1:40 Erm akchualy they were introduced as eyes for the Bohrok âïžđ€
Oh thatâs cool! Thanks for letting me know
I can't wait to see your review! I wonder if it's a good idea to try building this set without instructions.. The Canadian price is higher than the Daytona unfortunately (590 vs 560 CAD)
Impossible to build it without the instructions. You could copy the external frame as much as possible, but good luck building the inside
when are you making top 5/10 rarest sets? i would love watching it!

Cool video :) One of the promo videos hinted on a manual hight adjuster for front axle clearance. Or that was just the suspension?
I donât know
What Lego technic summer set will you be reviewing first?
This one
Iâm super exited to get this! Such a beautiful set!
I know right! Iâm so happy itâs not just another Bugatti reskin
Look behind you đ
Canât wait to see the reviews đ
I have a LOT of work to do
wow! That is sooooo cool!
Thanks, yeah the set is amazing
Brb waiting for lepin to sell itđ
So is it really sunny inside your house?
@@DX88 no, Iâll turn down the exposure next time
@@Unbrickme hahaha I was actually hinting at the sunglasses you wore, inside.
@@DX88 Oh, the reason why I do that is because I have a printed script just below the lens. if I didn't wear my sunglasses, you would be able to see quite easily that I am reading a paper, and not making eye contact with the lens. This is a much more efficient way to film, and I can get a video done much faster this way
@@Unbrickme in that case wouldn't it be easier to hang the paper next to the camera, or get a teleprompter?
Can you do a video of the g wagon because I think itâs been revealed
lol I like how you called the Ferrari the Daytona Beach đ
Thanks! I was hoping somebody would catch that
When you review this car, can you also show the parts list please?
Of course!
Yesterday I got the Lego Ferrari Daytona SP3 and while building it today I saw a post of this new 1:8 car
Gotta finish the Daytona fast
@@Unbrickme I just finished it and it's really cool!
I passed on The Daytona since the color scheme wasn't appealing and the whole build looked a little clunky.
Bro I was about to get the bolide but now ima get this but it probably very expensive đą
Get sets just before they retire. Theyâre usually discounted at that point, and itâs just before they will start to get crazy expensive
@@Unbrickme oh ok. Thanks
WOOOOO!
Woooooooo
Lego buys CADA and MOC version from aliexpress and upgraded that... i am so disapponted. I don't think that a new 7speed gear value is 449⏠IMHO
Jie Star made the P1, and I have it. It has R/C options. Mould King has one, and it has two versions, static and dynamic.
I think Bruno is the original MOC designer of this car.
Im a sucker for McLaren and i already have the McLaren Senna GTR they also made, so i cant wait to get my hands on this beauty
I agree the car is amazing!
this is going to change the whole way of building gearboxes in lego teching.
who needs the red driving rings now
I know right! A 7 speed sequential transmission is unprecedented
@@Unbrickmelooks like the two orange gear selector wheels are offset using the + and x knob gears, so you get a gear shift every 45 degrees instead of 90. Neat way to do more than four gears without a multiplier. I bet it runs smoother than the other 1:8 boxes too!
CADA and others sell 2x3 or 2x4 mini electric motors that might be useful for shifting gears, or perhaps a servo motor might do the trick. Usually the transmission and/or engine is lost during the R/C upgrade, and I'm sure someone will come out with that MOC soon after this kit is released. There are already R/C kits for all the cars that already exist, plus light kits as well.
What is that porsche lego set behind you?
Also one of the upcoming releases
Is the colour bright orange or just regular orange?
I have no clue
ââ@@Unbrickmebright orange is closer to yellow. Would be cool, but it would mean a massive amount of recolored pieces! One can hope...
EDIT: It is Bright Light Orange, cool!
Its keet orange a color from the Bionicle character keetongu
Is it that sunny in your room?
I have a paper script attached directly below the camera lens. If I werenât wearing sunglasses, youâd easily see that Iâm not making any eye contact with the lens, and Iâm just reading the paper
Bro they made the same mistake as the previous supercars again. $450 for a 3893 piece set đą
I wonder if we should build from PDF or the instruction book? The PDF might have corrections in the build.
I donât quite understand what you mean
@@Unbrickme The Ferrari Daytona SP3 booklets had build mistakes that messed up the transmission. Lego corrected the error in the PDF, not the booklets.
@@Unbrickme Parts #21 and #22 were included in the Ferrari Daytona SP3 kit, but the instructions did not mention where to attach the parts (bottom back).
i love this set but unbrickme can you also do a reviev of the mercedes g 500 lego technic set
Absolutely! I made a video about it just now
When are you gonna make the review?
Weâll see
I've never been interested in 1:8 supercars because there's not much playability with them as they just sit on your shelf in a display case without using the interesting gearbox at all.
Like the motorized Technic Lego, they increase the price and I just run it once to check out if it functions.
I don't like the new technic sets not having a b-model because it makes it half the fun to own.
But I actually want the new p1, jesko and the new porsche, so I hope somebody does a good b-model on rebrickable. :)
Interestingly, the Porsche 1:8 supercar from 2016 was THE ONLY set not to have a B model from the 2016 releases
Sweet I'm a expert I can build any car I love it
Awesome!
The curves, butterfly doors and especially the headlights captures the real car but the headlights are kinda disappointing, it looks more like a corvette rather than a p1, I hope there are custom mods in the near future to fix this when its released.
Maybe there is a company that does 3D printing, and they can supply us with some really cool headlight parts that have the correct shape, instead of these fake, simulated headlight parts. At least the Porsche b/w has the 911 "bubbles". The Sian uses white sticks for lights. The Chiron lights look better. The orange Porsche lights look good, clear radar dishes. The Ferrari SP3 lights are not impressive, white sticks again.
Inflation in my country raised the prices by an extra 10$ đ
Inflation in my country raises it by $150-175đ
Ah man, I was hoping for a G wagon.
Reliable leaks are suggesting the official reveal is tomorrow
That is not a hypercar
That front end looks more like a 12c
Whatâs a 12c?
@@Unbrickme it's another mclaren
The headlights look a bit wonky, but otherwise everything else looks fantastic, especially the rear bumper.
I donât really care that much about the aesthetics, as long as it has crazy mechanisms inside, which it clearly does
Yeah, I'm getting this set... when it hits 250 euro or below.
I donât know if itâll ever be quite so discounted
@@Unbrickme I bought the Lambo when it was âŹ260. All these supercars usually can be bought for less than âŹ300 on black friday or some other sales event.
Shape looks kinda off
The 5th 1:8 supercar was leaked!
Yep
Im kinda sad they just do vehicles with technic... there is so much potential for more...
Honestly I canât think of that many things technic could do that wouldnât be vehicles
Way too expensive, I'm currently building a moc
oh. we will get a new gear and stearing details. Cool
Yes, it is EXTREMELY revolutionary
I love this hypercar so much but still the best the 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS for me. I wait more the Mercedes Benz Rover than the new hypercar.
The 2016 Porsche was definitely shocking to me when I first built it, especially because it had to use the changeover catch switches in a sequential gearbox. It definitely has nostalgia for me
@@Unbrickme Really great to hear this!
Daytona Beach đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Indeed
Just my opinion, no hate here. I don't understand the hype, the set is too expletive for what it is (Just plastic, no electronic) and the color is too unique, which limit the amount of modifications that can be done to it. I own several Lego super cars and the only ones that I find worth the money are the ones that I had the ability to modified and prefect it.
The 7 speed sequential transmission is brand new, never before done, requiring EXTREMELY advanced mechanisms

Blue pinns. đąđąđą
At this point theyâre standard, we should not be disappointed by their presence
They should be black. The blue ones are just ugly.
What i think of the supercar? Still too pricey XD 450 ⏠for less than 4000 pieces and no motors means too pricey for me XD
Honestly I think that every new release will be priced like this. Long gone are the days of getting the 7 motor and 2 hub liebherr excavator for the same exact price of $450. Even back then I used to think 450 was too much haha. The point is, we will always complain about overpriced sets, but the price will only be increasing
While it s true price will always increase, technic sets were historically cheaper ( at price per piece ratio ) than brick sets, thanks to the presence of many pins... but here... i still remember when i purchased the bucket wheel excavator : same number of parts, 1 motor, a functional gearbox, and it was 230âŹ...Because in technic sets, black pins value is at 0.01âŹ, so the number of part that count in the price exclude those! So it was almost half the price. And while inflation made price higher i don t think it justifies an increase like this, because now even the pins are include in the calculated price...
â@@richardjulien1329higher IP bonus in the cars...?
@ArinMatikkaa that may explain why 8880 is my favorite super car đ
