    I opened a revolut account over a year ago didn't opt for the physical card. Opted for a virtual card so never got a card in the post and still opened the account. What i think is great about the virtual cards is there is a option with them where each time you use them the card details change and can only be seen on the app. So no chance of fraud .

      @@BeCleverWithYourCash Starling has just brought them in recently. They've let me start using my account for certain card payments, given I opened my account on the 2nd of Feb and I still don't have my card (as of 12 Feb), and I'm not a very patient person. They're great for both privacy and security and virtual cards are linked to certain spaces, helping you sort your spending into categories, for example having a virtual card for monthly card payments, such as your mobile provider, netflix, or other things like that

    • @BeCleverWithYourCash
      @BeCleverWithYourCash  Před 4 lety +2

      Absolutely. I did use my Tandem credit card abroad most but sadly that stopped being a decent option earlier this year. So Starling, Curve and my trusty Halifax Clarity go with me (well, when we're allowed to go abroad again!)

      @@BeCleverWithYourCash I'm sure Starling will introduce an abroad limit once they grow enough. I can't remember if it was Monzo or Revolut that had unlimited ATM withdrawals abroad, but they eventually capped it as it's a loss to them.

      Curve's customer service is shite tho. Trying to sort out an issue with my Curve Card being rejected from Samsung Pay (Monzo do not and will not support it, Galaxy Watches will not support Google Pay only Samsung Pay) despite previously having been used on there (and wiped due to a watch update)
      I get in contact/reply to them and am ignored for hours or days until I tweet them and then they say they're looking into it then I reply and am ghosted again
      I've been having this Samsung Pay issue for almost a week and only now do they tell me they don't have a set timeframe to solve my issue. Why the hell did they take a week to do that?! Ordered a Stirling card can't wait til it comes. Bye bye Curve, bye Monzo (unless for backup) and hellooooo Stirling

    • @grassytramtracks
      @grassytramtracks Před 2 lety

      Though if you do that, what would be the point having your salary go into your high street bank account? It seems to make the most sense to have your salary go into the account you use for the most day to day expenses and then transfer your money to an additional account you have with say a high street bank, perhaps for branch service, a back up or for a better interest rate but you can do whatever you want and I understand just doing that if that's what you're and you don't want to fuss with contacting your employer to change your details, though you could do a partial switch, which changes all of your payments going in and out but doesn't move your balance over and you keep your old account open
