They say there are ancient olive trees on The Mount of Olives that Jesus may have walked by, or prayed under during his life on earth. The Redwood trees in California are ancient too. These majestic silent sentinels have stood guard and been witness to much of our human experience on this planet... I am struck in awe also. What a beautiful family to care for and tend to this gorgeous grove by the sea in Sicily! They are precious beyond words and I feel they are an extended branch of my own family... at least from another lifetime... they seem so familiar to my soul.

As a Mediterranean myself I love seeing Olives harvested, it’s part of our culture and dietary it’s amazing what we use olives for and seeing this lovely family carrying on producing olive oil is amazing. I really hope they make a successful business out of it. ❤

@@dsa2591 I love the stuff, I use in every meal I make and it’s great for the hair too and skin to moisturize with it’s totally amazing what you can use Olive oil with!! my grandmother used to do the harvest too and salt the olives and make olives ready to eat, as Mediterraneans we always find a new way to use the glorious olive oil we have it with bread in the mornings and olives with soup and with lamb etc the list goes on! 🥰

We grow our own olives in Turkey; just 35 trees that we planted ten years ago. It is one of my favorite times of the year, picking, taking to mill and tasting! I feel your emotion! ❤️

I am so proud of Luce her baby sign is really good. She is being challenged with all the verbal, kinesthetic and auditory senses being stimulated. We love watching her growth and growing intellect. The attention and love is evident. She helps with the harvest even though she has mum as a playmate. Entertaining a toddler is a lot of work, juggling all you guys do is amazing! The faucets that go into the steel tanks are called a spigot in English. Love learning about the harvest and production of the EVOO - So blessed to have David helping, I’m sure he is enjoying his time on the property. Hard work is so good for the soul.

Many things to learn about producing olive oil. You guys are doing well and working hard. I just want to share with you that wasps and hornets do not damage olive trees, they eat other insects that can be harmful to your trees, such as fruit flies. If you want to be truly organic with your olive oil production, stay away from poisons and learn what insects are actually beneficial and which insects can be removed safely and naturally. A better technique would be to smoke them out and then cover their nest so they can not return. This could be done a few weeks before harvest. Keep up the good work, beautiful family. 🌿

Fantastic! So much hard work to make the flat into a home, learn all the farming skills, harvest and process the olives all while you raise an amazing child and keep your relationship good. Whew!!!!!! Oh and teaching the baby so many languages. It's marvelous.
