When you try eating indian foods, you will notice that when you go for north indian cuisine, its so well seasoned that it will blast out in your mouth, unlike foreign stuff that are not made spicier or like "maseladaar' with lots of different spices and herbs. When you go for south indian dishes, they are made to be healthier rather than tasteful with extremely good combinations like coconuts and pulses.Overall the most rated indian dishes are meat-based but there is a good vegetarian and vegan cuisine too! North indians typically prefer spicy food with extreme tastes.Indian dishes are full in themselves with combination of wheat, rice, legumes, vegetables, pickles, juices.

Chicken Tikka Masala is a purely British invention, a British take on 'Indian curry'. It was unknown in India until a few years ago. You can find this import from Britain on a few menus in India now, but it is still quite rare. India's native - and closest equivalent - Butter Chicken, is quite different from the CTM that you find in Britain.
