- In this video we install our steel ceilings on the wrap around porches, and then move right into the installation of the LP SmartSide. We use both vertical board and batten and traditional horizontal lap siding. You are going to love the way these details finish up so watch it all the way thru.

"great tip greg"......"heat from the tool greg"............"thanks for your help"......................y'all are a great duo.......the edit zooms on the humor are sweet
It's great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan's czcams.com/users/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.
Awesome - I always loved when my daughter called me while I was working on a home project. Brings back great memories.
I like the combination of the vertical on the sides and the horizontal on the ends. It looks good. Different.
your attention to detail is on a different level than that of a human
When you have half a million plus people looking over your shoulder, you want to look your best. 😉
Some great bits of humour mixed into the video, really like how you edit the videos and include them. Makes it much more enjoyable for us viewers!
Glad you like them!
Your attention to detail is superb! Not an amateur! When I get to building our new house, I hope our builder is as good as you! For it being a music garage, I believe the variety of siding layout will inspire the flow of music in the customers spirits. You know variety is the spice of life! Thanks for the video!
The vertical and horizontal sidings are an awesome contrast!!! Great work Kyle and Greg!
your precision and integrity are inspiring to me. I do residential carpentry and I understand how much work it takes to get things perfect. You guys do great work and that smart siding is an awesome product. The contrast of the vertical and horizontal siding looks great.
One advantage to the different siding profiles is you don't have to match up the corners. Looks great.
29:25 Glad to see you disconnect the air hose before messing with that stuck nail. Nice looking building.
OMG: snow and ice. Here we are having spring. Everything is blooming.
This has to be old footage. I'm about 30 miles southeast of his area. We haven't had significant cold weather in well over a month.
You guys are very good Tradesman ! Your quality of work is unreal and you achieve it so easy or appears to look easy ! Well done and you both work well as a team ! All the best from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Siding details, verticle/horizontal, trim, ceiling, all looks superb!
I’m not feeling mixing the vertical siding with the horizontal..but the color, texture and trim look great. As always excellent work.
Greg is on his game again yalls workmanship is high quality looks great
AMAZING...greetings from Singapore 🇸🇬
Vertical on the front and horizontal on the side. Same thing I did on my house, looks great!!
The siding looks awesome brother!
Greg is a great friend, he even brings a camera to work and sets it up so Kyle has someone to talk to
Love the look on this one, real nice job guys
First and foremost you guys do excellent work I love watching your videos every single one sometimes twice. in my opinion I like the vertical all the way around. I mean don’t get me wrong it still looks great just my opinion. Thanks for taking pride in your work
I never heard that one but you are right the heat is in the tools
The sidings really compliments each other. Nice choice Kyle it fly's
I didn't think I would like the mix but I do like it
I think the mixed up corner looks brave. I honestly like that.
Nice work!! I wish you could come to central WI and build my post frame building. Garage 42x50 attached to that 40x50 living quarters. Your videos are real helpful thanks.
I like it!! Looks as good as ship lap and shingle siding
thanks Kyle and Greg for a wonderful work today
I don't know building terms but my house has dual siding patterns. approx 2ft from at the tops and angels is vertical then transitions to be horizontal on the middle coming down. Then returns to be horizontal at the bottoms. Never thought about it until now it gives it texture and character to a house.
Looks great mixing the horizontal and vertical directions and also mixing batting corse look.
I like the horizontal on the ends...especially with the end with the roll-up door. Looks great!
Looks amazing
this guy is a God on carpentry, i'm learning so much
I feel like I can build like Kyle, but only in my RR gear. Thanks guys keep up the good werk
My Sunday morning before church video!
Hornets and lady bugs love to get above those steel ceilings at the tiniest gap. You would think they would offer some kind of compressible foam for the edge channels. A problem waiting for someone to solve. But it looks fantastic.
Super clean job. Love the crisp lines and colors.
There is a good channel on CZcams that tests out all different equipment and gloves and work jackets - Project Farm 😀
Kyle, you can go with finish nails on that trim, just glue the back for added strength to hold it on there
13:15 "You know what else is long..." This guy...lol, great work y'all do
Last video said OMG in the title, I was trying to figure out what happened for him to say oh my god. Saw it again today and realized it’s Oregon music garage 😂
I LOVE the mix-up of the vertical and horizontal siding; it does indeed add a nice touch to the rustic aesthetic of the building. I am not so sure, however, about the color of the flashing above the wainscot trim; I would have preferred that it be color-matched with the dark trim color.
I am sure you miss spoke, not all adjacent legs of a right triangle are equal, only if the other two angles are equal. Love your attention to detail and craftsmanship, keep them coming..
yes I thought of that during the edit and just said screw it makes sense lol
As a designer I think ceilings are always overlooked.
Looks great! The horizontal meeting vertical is very good looking to the eye. Your attention to detail is amazing. By the way, I love my Kreig pocket tool. Use it alot on deck tails and love the wood plugs for the hole fillers. Glue them in and touch up with paint/ stain. Stay warm and be safe!!!
Project looks great!
Amazing work. Great video. Love the color choices. Those see through garage doors was a great choice. As for the siding. I like it either vertical or horizontal. Combo messes with my OCD.
Enjoyed the show, looks like you've done that once or twice before, nice work.
Looking real good guys
I do like the look of the combination of the vertical to the horizontal lap siding. Good job , Mr. Kyle and Greg. I just completed a large job of LP SS smooth lap siding but it is distributed as Diamond Kote with RigidStack, which is on the backside which helps to set your courses. Either way, much better to install than 'fiber cement' siding. Good work.
Awesome and full agree with the philosophy of the only way to do something is to do it right!
Your work is SUPERB!!!
I put this on my garage 4-5 years ago. Looks like brand new still 👍👍
Siding looks great, good contrast.
Either way vertical or horizontal. Cool look. I like the mix up. It’s a change of pace. It would have looked great all done the same as well. Nice job RR. 💪💪💪
Hope y’all have a great Christmas Kyle. Great explanation of installation. It’s nice to have someone that passes on knowledge. Your doing it right and it’s awesome to see someone take a lot of pride in their work. Thanks buddy.
It’s probably the low light under the porch. But the shadow lines on the horizontal siding is hard to pick up. They are faint rather than distinct.
You mentioned that you didn't have to worry about water under the covered porch, the only thing to consider is if someone ever pressure washed under there. I enjoy and appreciate your craftsmanship.
Awesome color scheme and awesome workmanship as always Kyle. I'm not a fan of mixing vertical with horizontal on the walls. The look I like the best is horizontal on the walls with vertical B&B in the gables. And insert a piece of flashing under the B&B so there is a 1/8" reveal twixt the two. Also, as I was looking at that horizontal siding, I got to wondering what it would look like if you took that black touch up paint and painted the bottom edge, to give it a pinstripe look. Damn... I think I'm actually going to mock up a wall and do that just to see what it would looks like in real life.
Also, I don't really care for installing two pieces of J-Trim back to back like you did on those 45s in the ceiling. I always bent my own up using a single piece. That way you have a solid piece of molding twit the two ceiling planes.
I like the horizontal stuff better Kyle. Thanks for the video. 👍😁
> So what do you do for a living Greg?
> I'm an industrial athlete
Love it!
💙 the comment, it’s awesome👍🏻👍🏻
Holy Crap.Terrible weather for the middle of April.
great videos like always, my week cant start without an RR video... just wish there was an easy way to get your merch tot South Africa.
keep up the great work and content.
It looks cool I like it
I didn’t know Cánelo Alvarez was a carpenter!!!!!
It is awesome! Your “ czcams.com/users/postUgkxS-P9OAq3v4HNpPFqYFWNEq9A-E_PbZIN ” is a complete guide that highlights how I can easily build a beautiful shed from scratch. The writer of the SHED PLANS has given detailed blueprints and step by step instructions that even a beginner can follow without any trouble.
thanks for posting this vid...excellent
After watching dozens of your videos, I decided to try a job with LP Smartside. I never want to go back to cement based siding again. Tell LP they owe you a commission.
my OCD tells me no vertical next to horizontal.......but man it looks great the end product is very professional...Awesome video RR
Solid work, boys.
It’s not boring looking!
I think it looks Awesome!!
Love the contrast and color choice!
Black and gray is dope
Looks great!
Great looking siding!
Looks great. I like it alot.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT ‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸
I never thought of using a awl, that’s great idea.
Looking great, but my OCD will bother me because of that short piece. 🤣🤣🤣
God bless you guys.
I like the horizontal and vertical combo assuming it is also used to differentiate different usage areas like customer area vs employee back lot area. That is something I've always used to make sure I'm in the correct area when going to stores (usually it's a different type of flooring.)
This is what my 1986 house looks like: light blue paint on rough cedar, and it looks like it is from the 1950's.
NICE LOOK
another great video. I love watching you build.
I like the siding.
That is a great looking building.
Fantastic!
That horizontal looks like my house. Even the color.
Awesome work Kyle! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Great job
I was waiting for you to say “ you are never going to know Greg screwed up” 😂
This looks beautiful!
I love the look. Loving the build also
Lots of houses that are being put up in utah have multiple sidings and colors like that, and I dig most of it until they do 3 or 4 too many changes
Thanks for your videos men!
Looking great, Kyle!
Looks, Good Budd.
Love the RR Building hoodies.
Excellent craftsmanship but the mix of horizontal and vertical gives the impression that someone ran short of material and just switched to whatever was on hand -- the building equivalent of a "Mulligan Stew."
