    Royal Mail, Amazon, eBay UK Postal/Shipping Label printer, The Dymo LabelWriter 4XL.
    Perfect for eBay UK, Amazon, PayPal, Royal Mail (and more), because it is wide enough to fit the whole label, and has a Windows & Mac driver.
    So any software can print directly to the printer without any fancy settings via its own included software. (Although the software is good for making custom labels if needed)

    Very helpful, thanks. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Dymo 4xl or a cheaper alternative. It's hard to know what to do, because sometimes you're just paying for the name - but then other times, quality stands the test of time (usually) x

      Honestly, my Dymo LabelWriter 4XL is still working great, and I've printed thousands of labels. Having experimented with a few other printers, this one is fast and quiet. Other's I have tried are loud, slow and inconvenient.
      The Dymo holds a big reel, and it's "inside" the printer. Where as other's I've used, the sheets are external, and on my office desk, its a pain.
      I still haven't found a label printer that would make me consider moving away from my Dymo. I highly recommend it.

    Update 13th Feb 2020: - Is this still a good deal?
    I still use it every day, still works perfect, I cant find a better alternative, its holding its price because the market loves this label printer, and people are still buying them.
    If this broke today, I'd buy another one in a heart beat.

    really appreciate this video MANY THANKS.. may i ask however with the scaleing to fit with different labels have you had any issues with any barcodes not scanning or anything?

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety

      No, it works perfectly. The scanners used by Royal Mail and other couriers, have a sort of Error Correction for scanning bar codes of all shapes and sizes, including those that are distorted.
      The people who make them have to account for blemishes and small creases, during the scan.
      Since I've used the Dymo 4XL, I have only had 2 missing packages; and I doubt that was because of any issue with the barcode.
      So, I think it's fine, looks good when printing out.

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety

      Ah, you can generate the postal label from anywhere, this printer is compatible with all of them, since its the larges, and can also fit the smaller ones if needed.
      Amazon, eBay, PayPal, Royal Mail, UPS, TNT, FedEx, Parcel2Go, Hermes, MyHermes...
      Because this printer appears to Windows/Mac as a standard printer, it can literally handle anything you click print on... I can even print .jpg .png photos, anything....
      So, even if you found some really obscure file format, you can always just screenshot it, and print the screenshot.... But yeah, I've never needed to o that, I just know it works because I've got 23 years computer tech experience. It's good, but it, you wont be disappointed :)

    Would the demo 450 be able to print the click and drop labels or is it only the 4xl that is comparable?

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety

      Hi, unfortunately the 450 is much too small to use as a full sized prepaid postal label. The 450 is good enough for printing "just the customers address" with no prepaid barcode. I use my 450 to print small CN22 declaration forms, and its really useful, saves me swapping rolls every time I get an international order.

    Hiya,May I ask if we have more than 100 mails , do we need to put address in and step by step for each one? this takes time compare to what we are using -franking mail ,I am confuse if this is most efficient way to send goods ?

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety

      Hi, YES! - But the onus is on the postal label people, ie. whoever is generating the postal labels.
      You provide your address lists to, for example Royal Mail, and then they'll provide you with the 100 pdf files (or 1 pdf, containing 100 postal labels).
      Hit print, and the Dymo LabelWriter 4XL will start spitting them out very quickly, without taking a break between each one.
      I've seen a few questions like this, so i'll probably be making a new video to demonstrate how this can be done, just as easily as well as showing how fast the printer is at completing 100 labels.

In batch, I click on the icon of print labels...usually between 50 and 80 labels... but I just get a spinning circle as a timer and nothing happens...it will be like that for hours and am unable to print them. So am having to go to the email they send confirming that I have purchased labels and print of papers there and take them to the depot for them to scan QR codes and print labels for me.... What am I doing wrong ?

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety +1

      I love fixing problems like this... Its so rare, so I like a challenge.
      Ok, well the short answer is that from your description, it really could be a million different things.
      The best way to diagnose the problem, is to record a video showing your process, and being sure not to show any personal details of your customers. So for a test, you can choose any copyright free image from google, as a test.
      In the meantime, you should make sure that the computer has detected the Dymo printer. There's a few ways to do this depending on what pc you have. In windows you should go to "Printers" and ensure that the Dymo printer is in that folder, and shows as connected... and not a ghosted out or hollow icon.
      It's also important to check that your computer is fully updated, as there are many things that can interfere with your USB cable communication. Chipset drivers, power delivery to the usb controller, usb drivers, faulty port, old operating system.
      ...Also, consider using on another computer, to see if it works?
      You may also have a faulty unit?
      You may also consider phoning Dymo directly, or depending on where you purchased your, the retailer may offer you technical support too.
      Those tech support people will have training on the most common faults, and the solutions to each.
      Rest assured that the printer is amazing, and mine has served me well for several years, without any repair or maintenance.

  • @dopemusic6414

    Question bro can you not use the smaller Dymo printer model and scan the same label but smaller?

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety

      Yes you can... But that would be terrible.
      The postman needs to be able to read the address to successfully deliver the package.
      And the barcode needs to be scannable, to prove that the label has been paid for. :)
      ...the level of detail required, cannot be printed by the smaller Dymo LabelWriter 450.
      If you're just printing the address, and nothing else (because you'll pay for a stamp at the post office) then yeah, the 450 is good for just a few lines for an address.
      But the larger postal labels which you pay for online, require the larger surface area to contain proof of payment barcodes, and tracking information. So for those, you'll need the LabelWriter 4xl, link in description.

    What if I print one out like that for a large letter that can fit in a PO BOX can I just stick it onto the parcel and put it in the PO BOX

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, you do not need to take your letter or parcel to a Post Office, if it is able to fit in a post box. You can just put this label on your letter/parcel and post it.
      However, there are some exceptions. For example, if your postal label includes "Tracking". In such a case, you would need to have the post office scan the tracking barcode, to confirm that you have sent the item. Also, if your package contains certain items that are restricted, like batteries, or other high risk items, then those should always be taken to a post office so that they can ensure all laws and safety regulations are adhered to.

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 3 lety

      The 450 is too small to accurately print the barcode on your postal label.
      That barcode needs to be scannable by the post office, so that they can confirm you have paid for your label online.
      The Dymo LabelWriter 4XL is the one I would recommend for you, and you can check the price via the link in the video description. :)

      The 4XL will handle many labels. Usually thats any label that is smaller than the large labels. The label spool holder, as an adjustment which allows the smaller sizes to print correctly.

    Hi, I sell on ebay and I am trying to get the SKU I have added to ebay listing on to my Royal Mail label (which will help me find the item quicker). Do you know of a way to do this? I don't seem to be able to do it when I buy label on ebay or directly from Royal Mail. I don't print packing slip, just label.

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před rokem

      Yes, when you generate your postal label, before you print it, simply save it to your computer/device, and open that image in Paint (in Windows). Then click the "Add Text" button, paste or type your SKU, and print from there.
      Just be sure that you dont accidently cover parts of the barcode or address with your SKU. And also, when you save the postal label as an image, make sure you are zoomed as much as your screen will allow you, to get the highest quality. Since if you're zoomed out all the way, the barcode and address will be too blurry to be scanned at the post office, and your label will be invalid, resulting in a lost package

  • @brianmorrison9168

    I want to try this, as it's 50p cheaper than sending it at the post office.
    The only snag as I see it .. although I could be wrong .. do I have to take the parcel to my local Royal Mail sorting office, which is several miles from my home, or can I drop it in at the PO ?
    I suppose I could have asked at any PO, but I've just sold something today on ebay and ralise I've made a mistake regarding postage, so that 50p saving has kicked my brain into action

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před rokem

      No, you do NOT need to take the parcel to a Post Office if the parcel will fit inside your local post box without getting stuck in the slot.
      However, be aware that the postbox will not give you "Proof of postage". But some sellers will use their phone to video the parcel, and it's label, shown to be entering the post box.
      Just a short 5-10 second video which shows the package, and the label with it's address, and your hand pushing the package in to the post box... If an item goes missing, that is usually enough proof that the package entered the postal network, and they should then honour a claim for any missing parcel, up to the value covered with your chosen label type.

    • @djtyros
      @djtyros  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Gary, for this I would recommend taking a screen shot of the label, and paste it into the Dymo software.
      From there you can rotate it either way.
      If this doesn't solve the issue, you could paste the label into Windows Paint, and move things around in there.
      (You can also print directly from Windows Paint)
      It's a shame that some Postal Label Services do not allow you to customise the layout of the postal label.
      It's worth pointing out, that this problem is down to the click and drop service, and the problem would exist on all Label Printers.
      It might be worth dropping and email to Click & Drop, as they may be unaware of the issue.
      Hope this helps, let me know if this works for you.

      Essentially yes... You dont need to take everything to the post office, if the package will fit in the mail boxes, you can pop them in there.
      Tracked items will need to be scanned at a post office, as usual.
      And using the Dymo, it's faster than having the post office label up and charge you at the counter. You pay Royal Mail online for the label, and just hit print. Very quick way of doing it.
