  • This is my review detailing everything I wish I knew before I purchased the Arcade 1UP OutRun sit down mini cabinet. Does this live up to Sega's arcade legacy? Let's find out!
If there's anything I didn't cover, please feel free to ask me in the comments!

The car palette "glitching" between checkpoints happens on the original hardware - not a bug from an emulation standpoint.

This is a pretty good review. I got this cabinet directly from Arcade1up also like most did. I spent weeks working on it trying to get it to work. It took some time for Arcade1up customer service to ship me the new parts that I needed to get it working. Something like this for over$500 should have worked out of the box but it didn't work for me. I also know exactly what I'm doing this is the seventh Arcade1up machine that we've bought. Customer Service basically sent me everything that I asked for in the end though. They sent me a new ribbon cable, new PCBA, and a new control panel. Seems like in the end the control panel had a bad plug outlet on it where the pins connect. I was really bent out of shape over all of this at first. The entire family loves playing it now. For a few bucks we even got the Sega logo decals for this online.

@@chriscroft2323 It was frustrating for sure, in the end they did make it right. It took patience on my end. It was Christmas time and took a while for the parts to ship. OutRun is our family's most played arcade game as of now. 😎👍

I'd have to do a seat mod for this. Sadly, I think I've missed out on this one. Can't find it anywhere. Thanks for sharing this. Hope your project for this cab went well.

thinking of getting one and modding it. this looks pretty fun if it could play a few other racers!

I agree , You need a back to the chair, I put a cpu chair, it worked great... Had a custom riser that adjusted for about half the height...And its perfect for me 6'3....full riser was a bit too tall... but a little mod and its Great...

Thank you for the bleacher seat idea! Did you take off the padded seat, or just put it on top of that?
Also, I recently added a bass shaker to the bottom of the seat and boy does it make a difference. Highly recommend you check it out (although it is an expensive mod)

Chris - great review. Just wondering why you wished you'd waited for the standup version instead of the sit-down. Like/subbed!

because i have a bad back and it hurts to play for more than 30mins. anyone who has any remote back issues should stay away. however i did get a lumbar support pillow that helps a lot.

Jeez Chris, sorry to hear about that. But yeah, I never thought about people with back issues. Are you thinking about picking up the stand-up version?

@@evilgeniusentertainment I'm hoping they will release the riser as a separate item. I sent them a message on fb and they said they were considering it.

The analog controls does exist on Switch with the analog stick.

Why is the stand up version better? I feel like racing games should always be sit down.

Can the speed be set from kmh to mph specifically in Outrunners? Could care less about the other games lol

    • @chriscroft2323

i believe so. if you happen to catch mph in my footage, that's the case. that's something i usually change as well

The stand-up will have the same cheap features ( pedals, shifter ) and will actually cost more without the bench. It will be available through Best Buy but will always be sold out.

As long as they keep manufacturing small quantities it will remain sold out. Artificial scarcity. Oldest trick in the book.
