Swiffer Sweeper Review

  • Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Swiffer Sweeper Mop. It sweeps and mops your floors. LINK to Swiffer Sweeper Mop: amzn.to/1LB065w It’s supposed to be a replacement for a broom. You can use the Swiffer on finished hardwood floors, laminate and tile, not on carpet. LINK to Dry Refills: amzn.to/1LB0fWG LINK to Wet Refills: amzn.to/1G73lW5
The starter kit comes with the sweeper, a few unscented disposable dry cloths and a few unscented disposable wet cloths. It’s 50 inches tall. It does come apart for storage although most of us will put this in a corner without taking it apart since it’s used often. The unit is extremely light weight, a little over one pound. It is very sturdy for something so light.
I’ll show you how it works. Connect the aluminum poles, they just snap on. Attach a dry cloth, tuck it into the four slots. I’ll use the unit on my hardwood floors. The pivoting head makes it easier to get around furniture. You can see the dust, dirt and some hair on the cloth. Now the swiffer will not pick up big items, it’s not a vacuum. If I see bigger things on the floor, I’ll move it to one corner with the swiffer and continue mopping. I’ll pick them up at the end with the cloth so I don’t have to use the vacuum.
I find the Swiffer most helpful when getting under the bed or an armoire. Otherwise I would have to get on my hands and knees and I really don’t want to do that. After cleaning, remove the cloth and dispose of it.
Next I’ll attach a wet cloth to the swiffer. The wet cloths are almost dripping wet so I put them on right at the spot I need to mop. There is an abrasive strip on one side for scrubbing. This is my tiled bathroom floor. The swiffer is narrow enough to get into tight spots. It does a good job of mopping up the dirt and dries pretty quickly. Remember that the Swiffer is not for floors that require deep cleaning.
You will have to buy the dry and wet cloth refills separately. They are sold unscented and scented. Even the scented ones are pleasant to smell. The dry cloths come in a box and wet cloths in a tub so they don’t dry out.
Swiffer sells their own brand but I have used other brands and they work pretty well. I try to buy them in bulk to save a little money because I know it’s something I’ll use on a regular basis. Sometimes, I can do two small rooms with one dry cloth or wet cloth - it depends on how dirty your floors are.
I have to say the Swiffer is one of the best tools ever invented for cleaning and I don’t have any complaints about it. I do wish the wet and dry cloths were recyclable but unfortunately, they are not. The Swiffer definitely makes cleaning easy and fast. It saves your back because you don’t have to bend down to clean the floors. It’s so light that it takes no effort to push around. It glides across floors.
I hope this review was helpful. The links to the Swiffer and refills are in the description below. Please like this video and subscribe for more reviews of products you use. Thanks for watching.

I am addicted to it. It’s light and hygienic AND quiet. I use it now instead of my heavy, noisy vacuum cleaner. I use it daily. Before I used the vacuum cleaner once a week or so and I hated it. Now I absolutely love cleaning my floors.

I'm a professional housecleaner and I use these all the time. It is the best tool. I use it to clean mirrors, walls, showers and floors. I don't use any of the Swiffer pads I just use regular rags. Works great and makes cleaning faster.

That said the dry pads work well but the wet pads are pretty terrible. They would work well for cleaning a small spill but not good for mopping.

Aug. 20/18 - Purchased this a few days ago and used it this morn. What I didn't like about it is that it picked up so much dust that when I took off the cloth, the dust fell away from it landing on the floor. That was annoying to me because of the prices. I thought they grabbed dust. On a more positive note, I found it was easy to work with and actually fun because I was able to go pretty well everywhere. The video shows much dirt on the cloth whereas my place has no traffic and much dust lands everywhere. The price of these units and cloths are astronomical and honestly ridiculous but nothing one can do. Thanks for demo, I don't think you have to give dimensions, it's all on the box(es). Have a good one peeps.

I thank you VERY MUCH for your information. I came here looking for GOOD directions on how to secure the pad onto the mop head. I followed your directions, and I had NOT ONE pad come off on its own. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
As a "funny" side note, the gunk that my new mop picked up was probably 5 times worse than yours--maybe 10 times worse! I did the dry mopping first, and then the wet mopping. Both picked up a bunch of gunk!
May God's peace be with ya--in the name of Jesus!
