Pittsburgh seemingly losing even the most minor trade
Kyle Dubas is terrible
That’s the Mike Sullivan effect for you
Exactly. As the adage goes, correlation doesn't equal causation. But there've been so many players in the Sullivan era leave the Penguins and thrive, and conversely come to Pittsburgh and struggle, I can't believe it's just bad luck. It happens far too often.
Franchise mode legend back in the day, love to see him finally start to figure it out
Lot of folks just need an opportunity, and he got it with Columbus. I hope it can keep it up.
as a penguin fan i’m in shambles
Is Nylander the next Verhaeghe 🧐
McCann, Tanev, Matheson, Nylander.... Everyone gets better when they leave Pittsburgh.
What happens when players get playing time or when a player finds the right fit.
McCann would have grown if they kept him
@@connorbrighteyes9719 Maybe, I dont think he would have grown to a 30 goal scorer and almost point per game though
And everyone that comes to Pittsburgh suddenly starts playing bad.
@@ChrisPowellsClips He might have taken a step into malkin's role with him declining.
Really happy for him and hope he continues to do well. Been a fan of his for close to a decade now, great to see him having success.
Im glad hes finally blooming in the big leagues, was a fan of his in Chicago
Blues fan why didn’t he ever get a shot on that hawks team he had the 30 point rookie reason and never got another chance in league after that
@@cheericoke2484He was injured in the playoffs that year and missed the entire next season, maybe they thought he was more valuable as a trade piece
Sillinger giving Nylander a smooch last night speaks volumes with how much he fits in with the line he is on
Columbus needs someone to work out for them. Seems like every big name they bring in (Laine, Gaudreau, etc) seem to go belly up there, so it's nice to see them get some good news for once.
rick nash, sergei bobrovsky, seth jones, and artemi panarin may disagree with you on that one.
boqvist was looked at as such a good prospect too and has just been ok
@@thehoneycamper2634 I was referring more to recent times. I really hope they're able to turn things around there soon. The fans are apparently very loyal and enthusiastic, so they deserve it.
@@rjcolombe dang, 2019 was only 5 years ago, way to make me feel old. I grew up with the early 2000s blue jackets, and was also a devils fan, I've seen both sides of this coin. The recent problems have been from terrible management from the gm. They should have been more successful now, but jarmo was far too quiet when he needed to be loud, and lots when he needed to be quiet.
Before his injury in chicago i really liked him and thought he was good just didnt get the results from it but after that he has been invisible up untill now so im really happy hes back in the spotlight!
Just goes to show - sometimes all a player needs is the right environment. Happy for the guy AND for the CBJ - they haven't had much to celebrate this season so this is a more than pleasant surprise :)
i didnt even know alex nylander existed
So happy for Tex the three of them have found this chemistry. Felt beginning of season he was sometimes found out of place on the ice when his line got stripped out of the puck, he's never been a 2-way forward with a strong D side by any mean and never will be, but now we're finally seeing some progression in most aspects of the game with him and what nylander brings on this line is giving him the excitement he needed to thrive.
I always loved Alex Nylander ever since his world juniors to bad he couldn’t work with Buffalo I thought him and eichel would be an amazing duo, hope he finds his game in CBJ and gets to be that 8th overall he was selected to be
This always happens with the Penguins 😭. We trade an "under-performing" player, and they immediately have a career Renaissance
Dubas traded Nylander after all
Great video
im happy for him! i hope he really starts getting into his groove
happy for nylander hope he can keep the quality play coming
I think he can be a 3rd liner on the right team especially if he commits to playing harder defensively he's definitely on a good streak that's not sustainable long term in all likelihood but maybe CBJ has found a solid 35-40pts contributor for their 3rd line during their weird retool/attempting to contend faze
If Nylander can live up to his potential with Columbus, that’d be a massive win. Scored again vs Edmonton, 5 goals in 7 games so far
as i always said its never too late
Idk why but when I saw this trade I felt like Alex was gonna get a good opportunity and play good hockey. This is always great to see
Pens cannot catch a break with this tragic season
As a pens fan I’m happy for him but also dying inside
Pens fans seen this coming.
L AFTER L AFTER L for Dubas he is underratedly a bad gm
Everyone says he is so great while his prospects in Toronto never do anything.
This was happening in Pittsburgh well before Dubas was there. Mike Sullivan gets nothing out of the players they bring in. Started with Brassard and is continuing to this day.
The Karlsson blockbuster was at worst a wash for Pittsburgh. Certainly not an L.
@@chrismdb5686 another L for Guentzel
@@cam2159 It's been reported he wasn't planning on signing with the team and was going to free agency. A handful of prospects, a ready player, and a pick for him is fine with me if that report is true.
Why such a hate b0ner?
He will never achieve the level his brother has but that's what people used to say, I think he has a chance because Artemi Panarin is kinda similar and was doubted during the draft and showed up for Chicago alongside Kane. I think Nylander can be great if he keeps up this level of play, he might just become a first liner in his career after all
As a Swede im not a big fan of the Nylanders of cours. And especially Alex with him being all weird as a junior but the guy really starts to grow on me. Seems to have mature a lot.
he played with my cousin in the OHL and is a very good offensive guy but lacks defencive awareness and has a huge attitude problem. If he can work on his defencive game and maybe humble himself a bit he can be a great player in the NHL
William Karlsson 2.0? Went from barley an NHL player to a star the next. I'm not saying thats what Nylander will be but maybe 20+ goals and 50+ points? He was a top 10 pick for a reason and might just be a late bloomer who also needs a change of scenery
i wouldn’t call columbus rebuilding, i’d call them under achievers and needing a shakeup with a retool .
plus they have the talent and assets to retool, no need to rebuild . although they should probably consider it
FREE WILLY!!!!
He’s had a nice start with CBJ, but let’s see if he can keep it up. There’s a lot more reason to doubt it than there is to think that he will
Me
I wouldn't get too excited yet if I was a Columbus fan. And who was the last great late bloomer who was a very high first round pick. Jacques Richard? I can't think of too many.
He was so bad on Chicago. The definition of inconsistent. Let’s see how long it lasts
I think we need to see a full season before we call winner, not even a Pens fan but dude has played 5 games. I'll be convinced if he has some good numbers when the season ends.
If he can keep it up then yeah the Jackets won but right now he is doing well, maybe next season he is invisible or becomes a steal but lets just relax a little.
With Sullivan and Dubas running the show Pittsburgh Is in trouble. Also, a video suggestion would be to cover these last few play of the year candidates. Byfield, Kadri, and last night Barkov.
They don’t even look related lol
Nylander is simply not very good. He will return to his regular AHL shape sooner than later.
Dubas is trash
Nylander is 🗑, don't worry Pittsburgh last night was a fluke
Aaand that comment aged like a old open can of Tuna out in the Sun
