The simplicity of these tractors will never be seen again. 👍🇺🇸
Ever
Agreed
I agree. So much easier.
There is something to be said for SIMPLICITY. These Old Farmall tractors were certainly built to last and can still do an honest days work with asking for very little in return. Thank You for sharing. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
You're so correct and the price is perfect
I have a 51 cub that I purchased last year, used it all last winter for plowing. Mine came with wheel weights all the way around. Worked great until we got freezing rain before a snow storm, threw chains on and it never missed a beat. One thing I've learned with mine, split the brake pedals so you can ride the right brake when it starts spinning. Most of the weight is on the left so it's usually the right side that spins.
Nice little snow plow tractor. Like you said, rear wheel weights and possibly tire chains and your traction will really improve. I’m impressed on how well it does.
I'm just as surprised as you are
That little tractor is amazing pushing all that snow without chains or wheel weights. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you!
I’m surprised how my Kubota get it done with no chains
@@SunnySlopeHomestead I'm surprised how a tracked simplicity zero turn gets it done with no chains 🤣😂🤣. It doesn't even have front wheel assist on it ha
Your having too much fun. I lived in Michigan near Lake Huron for 40 years. Had a Farmall A, an Oliver 66, and a A-C XT 190. Plowed lots of snow. After one winter of plowing out the driveway for 30 days in a row. Sold everything and moved South. Plowed snow one time in 14 years. Now I sit and watch you guys plow snow. Nice little tractor and great videos. thanks.
What state are you in?
@@FarmallFanatic Arkansas. SW corner,
The Lil' Cub did a really nice job moving the snow. 👍🏻 Yep, operator makes a huge difference in how well a machine does. 👍🏻 Haven't seen snow like that yet here, thank goodness. "Lets go, lets g ........ oh, push some snow". 😁 Thanks for the ride along. Take care.
It's too early to deal with this kind of weather already
You unleashed all 12 horsepower of flathead awesomeness on the unsuspecting snow……it didn’t stand a chance!
Slipping and sliding a little, but still did a good job. Definitely gonna need some weights and chains for winter. Thanks for the video.
Boom 💥 cub power 💥
You know it
The Farmall Cub...a Cub in size...a "polar" Bear for work! 🐻❄
You know it
@@FarmallFanatic Never underestimate the power of Little Red...
That little tractor works good, nice and quiet and runs like a new one.
Yeah I'm extremely happy with it
The Cub did a nice job!
It sure has been a brutal last few days with the temperatures and wind. The Cub is doing great!
Started well for 19 degrees
Excellent video. I have a 1950 that I've used for 25 years to plow snow in New England. I have wheel weights and made a belly rack to hold weights underneath. With 200 lbs under the belly and wheel weights I found I don't even need the chains. Thanks for posting!
That's what I'm thinking too
That’s a great ideal
Plowed with my great grandfathers 51’ since I was born in 84’. It was retired from farm work when he passed in 77. It was officially retired from active service in 2013 when I got my 30hp 4wd Kubota. I restored it last year and it wears a sickle mower now and I cut 3acres of pasture with it twice a year. Other than that she enjoys going to shows and just cruising around now.
Most guys wouldn't dream of plowing snow in an open station tractor
@@FarmallFanatic we plow snow like men🤣
A foot of lake snow with a bone chill in your face , watching your videos brother makes me want to move in with my mom . She is in Florida , short sleeves and sun blocker …😂👍🏻🍻🍔
It makes me want to fly to the sun
Love it, nothing beats an old Cub.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I wish you the best. Take care and God Bless.
Little cub is working out great! By February you should have lots of experience! I agree with more a driver is on the machine the sooner they become one. Thanks for sharing now get warm!
I wish it was March
Awesome little tractor and plow. Those guys were so good at building tractors after the war. That's heavy snow. You are getting better every time you use it. Experience.
Man you nailed it
I have an early '50's "100" AKA newer super A. Front loader, and recently installed an old "Dual" mini backhoe, use it mostly for lifting, not digging. "Dual" is the forerunner of the modern Woods products, who manufactures many of the ones for present compact tractors. I mount a very old Meyer blade which I've had (used then) from the mid 70's. Even then it doesn't have enough power for the kind of heavy wet snow we get up here in the N end of Idaho. I BET WHAT YOU ARE PLOWING is quite light snow. When I was a "kid" my Gramps had a cub with the lever type accessory lift. He was old then, and I cannot imagine trying to deal with that thing. Seems like the blade only lifted a few inches.
At the time our family tractor was an old Farmall "regular" to which Dad had installed belt drive hydraulics, a great working blade, built a front mount buzz saw, and installed a flywheel in the gap between transmission and clutch---for an old Ford starter motor. I've hand cranked that monster more times than I can count.
I'm 74, The "Regular days" were about 1957--68.
There is no light snow when it's 33゚ out I promise you that... I'm willing to extend those normal days clear up to 1981
That Cub with the front plow was doing a good job. That looked like wet snow we would have in Texas.
It was for sure
Beautiful little capable tractor. We had a Super A with wheel weights on the farm, and it pushed snow way better than Ford 3000. Miss the Farmall. Great to hear the signature engine sound.
I will eventually own a super
Love your channel. Keep up the good work. Your videos have helped a lot with
the restoration of my h and super m. Go Red Power!
Great job plowing with the Cub!
Thanks 👊
Shoot, your vids got a Deere guy looking for a cub now. Handy little tractor
It's a tractor I can't stop driving
there are steal plate you can dig up for those old tractors that add a couple hundred pounds weight to the rear, makes a huge difference for snow plowing, chains help too. That old equipment in that shape and maintained can make you a darn good living doing snow removal and landscaping. Your old tractor was doing as good as my brand-new Bobcat I use for that exact job on my property, and it dose it just as well. :) Good for you!
One step at a time
Echoing previous comments, the old girl does well for no weight or chains. It’ll be night and day when you get either one or both👍🏻enjoyed it and keep em comin FF🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
No doubt
Covered in snow and starts right up! Love it
Wants to work 👍
Very, very cool!!!
That is a sweet little plow and love the red tractors
Looks like the fuel system is getting better 👍 Great video! RED POWER!
Yeah I wasn't going to say anything but you are a 100% correct
I'm telling ya, run seafoam in the gas tank and when you're ready for the oil change, run a can in the oil. It WILL clean the engine.
Those "Cubs" were the original "garden tractor". Honestly, even today, the best money can buy. I will say, you really do need to add those rear wheel weights on. If you do decide to add fluid to those rears, go with Rim Guard. Great video as always, cheers :)
Right on
That intro is so wholesome. Been looking for a snow plow for my dad’s cub. I bet it would be a lot more fun than using a shovel and a snowblower.
There is 0 fun in shoveling
That's a lot of work!! My Toyota Camry will drive right through that. Stay inside and bother the old lady, have some hot chocolate and relax.
At our Colorado ranch near Durango, we didn't plow snow until it got 18" or better..just drive on it and pack it down,,,keeps the mud away longer..
Now, come on in the coffee is hot..
It's not really that much work you just sit on the tractor, raise and lower the plow, and shift the gears...then go in and get hot coffee
That cubby does well, i like it!😁
Great little trooper. It is an impressive performance but I really have to feel for you in listening to the wind.
It hurt lol
That is fun that I gave up having. I got soft in my old age and now run (fly) off to SWFL. I beat the cold weather by just hours this year. I can hear my Cubs howling in the barn to get at it, they don’t like snow either and bully the stuff around. Sorry little guys, will plow in the spring to calm them. Weights and chains for them.
What's the temperature there?
@@FarmallFanatic Cool tonight, in the 60’s. Warmer tomorrow, upper 70’s. Back in the 80’s later in the week. Cold front for us.
Little Cubby is getting it done 👍😁
Love them old tractors
Hello looks like it works great Gino. I'm looking set of chains my tractor. There 16.9 30. We had a good amount snow here not as much you have but enough for a few hours clean up. Cub works great does a great job. Have a good day
I'm not even sure where I would look for chains to be honest with you. Every tractor that I've ever owned that needed chains came with them already
Used to buy these for a couple hundred bucks (not running) in southeast Pa. Clean out the fuel tank and epoxy coat it, rebuild the carb, change engine oil and new plugs….never had one that didn’t fire up pretty easily. Put a few implements on and it was an easy $1500. Love those lil cubs.
Not anymore you're looking at easy 2 to 3000
Yeah, they were easy to find down there 30 years ago. 👍
Love older equipment working and simple
Good tractor well worth having.
Agree 👍
Farmall Cub it’s a bear for work! Handiest little tractors around. Every farm should have one.
I couldn't agree more
its funny it started runs and works great with no computer john deere should pay attention great video
No they're too bought in on the woke bs
That tractor puts all these so-called modern compact tractors to shame. Great video, I just wonder how many of today's tractor's will be around in 67years, "SIXTY -SEVEN YEARS" fantastic machine. If it had differential lock, it would be practically unstoppable. Nice job operator
By design, they don't make them like this anymore.
Had one just like yours! They can really move the snow!
No doubt
Runs very well👍👍
Cub's are such capable little machines, I got mine years ago and use it all the time, hard to believe a 70/year old is still earning its keep . gotta take the loader off mine for the winter picked up a Snow Blade off Craigslist gonna drop it at my Mother in laws place for the winter getting tired of moving machines around on icy roads easier just to leave one there. TJ
That's what I would do plus I don't like my machines out in the salt
Cubby Power 💪🏼❤️
When I was growing up on the farm we had one. I am surprised that this one even started up on a cold snowy day.
I've done a lot of work to this Cub to make it right
No Chains no weights I’m impressed 👍
Me too
Looks like fun all I remember is back in the day when I was young we got to do all that by hand with a shovel and we had 2500 laying heads and 22 milk and cows and we had to shovel to the barn shovel to the barn shovel to the barns and then shoveling it around shovel it up on the pile yep great times this looks a lot better but hey I still enjoy shoveling snow today some not a lot but ideal deer by hand have a great day and a great Thanksgiving your videos are the best bless you all
I remember shoveling by hand
Little tractor does a good job , sure beats a manure shovel
Oh all day
Here in Indiana where I live we haven’t had a snow that deep in a while I wish I had a little tractor and blade like that
A little more wheel spin this time around. For what it's worth I think the intro tune sounds a bit like the Beatles Ticket To Ride or intro to Monkee's Last Train to Clarksville. Cool regardless. Really like the channel and red content. Keep on keeping on Fanatic!
That's exactly what this song is Ticket to Ride
I spent an enjoyable afternoon pulling logs through the woods with a friend's Cub many years ago.
How big were the logs
@@FarmallFanatic Not too big, maybe around 10 to 14 inches and 10 to 20 feet long. It was mostly down hill and the Cub struggled for traction in a few of the flat spots. It's a happy memory 😊!
That's a really impressive performance from the little Cub 💪💪👍 when you consider that many ride on lawnmowers have double the horsepower 🙄😳 Red Power 💥👌
20 horsepower lawn mower aint touching this thing
It's all in the gearing I plowed and cultivated tobacco for 10 years with one those little jewels awesome tractors
Definitely
Plows snow like a champ 🏆
I plow with a 9.2’ boss v plow and 14’ expandable back plow but I would love to setup one of our farmalls with a snowplow. That looks like a blast.
It is
Excellent job Looks so cold~!
Once I started plowing it wasn't too bad
Only a foot? Before Thanksgiving? Boom!
🥶🥶🥶🥶❄❄❄❄
Yeah I feel cheated lol
Cub did good. “Let’s go, let’s push some snow” 😉
💥BOOM💥
plowed with my cub last night identical to yours same year and all, it was my first time trying it out plowing snow and im very impressed. just the size difference with my driveway anyways the smaller tractor is much faster to do it believe it or not! as for your video yesterday looking for that plow part mine is set up same as yours and i just run a pin there so it can move freely and seems to work great i dont think there will be any issues, i doubt i will ever find that part around where i live in nova scotia anyways. Keep up the good work!
Yeah you'd have to have it shipped in
Go mighty Red Power!
Here In western NY I had 45F and by a blink of an eye we had high winds and snow and before I new it we had -55F below zero and wind as much as 65 mile an hour and my Farmall H still fired up and I parked in the shed .. I hope we don't get weather like that again this year
Agree
The Cubdozer!!!!
Tru dat
When you have the red right they sure start nice in the cold.
A true cold start
That Cub Really Does a nice Job! I plow with my Super C….
Wery nice Traktor..machine
I run a '47 Case VA, ( about the same size tractor) with a set of common single truck chains, they fit well, and make a nice improvement in traction.
Keep them tight, or they will slip below the tire lugs.
Right on
Formally Fanatic, long time no see I think FB took you off of my rotation or something.
Central California watching
Interesting...if you hit subscribe and ring the bell, it will take Facebook out of the equation
Pretty good Fer no chains
Yeah I was satisfied for sure
i was wondering when chains for the Cub would be an idea..but man for a little tractor she plows!!
Absolutely
i plowed snow for over 10 years & hated it every time. but since i got the snow blower for the x724 i've been much happier. & i dont have to worry about running out of room.
If the piles get too bad, I fire up the loader
@@FarmallFanatic 2nd bast to a blower :)
The Cub did a good job. It would be great to have chains before the next snow. Chains are something that is better to have and not need, than to need and not have. And it does well without them, you may not need them. Can you get 10W low ash engine oil? That will be much better in winter as 30 is too stiff when it's cold.
I honestly don't know I've never tried
you should buy a pair of full winter cover-alls.
I have em
Excellent video Gino :) did ever have do bucket of fire underneath oil pan warm engine on Loader tractor Desiel or Gas or even both to get started up Winter when super cold over years if did that amazing! I know my late Dad , late Uncle on 1950 Cockshutt 40 gas motor , 1963 McCormick International B414 Loader tractor Desiel motor with Block Heater to on , 1968 McCormick International 105C combine also 1968 International 624 A with German Desiel motor, 1978 International 724 German Desiel motor Loader tractor had Allied brand! Also have tried out Farmall Cub Headlights and Backup Light underneath seat Gino of this 1955 tractor with blade! Also that part you need on last video asked about does John Deere tractor dealer sell them by any chance too even got paint in warm weather I say check out with to near you! I know like get Red International parts but may help on find on John Deere because sell lots old ones or if Tractor also Combine Scrap or Junk Yard if have try them to phone first and check one near me and all out International CUB parts ones right now plus dealer too!
No I've never done that but I've heard of guys doing that
Man I hate snow, I use to like it but not so much anymore! Looks like the little guy works good!
I hate it less with the Cub lol
😀👍 this is logical.
Fiddy Five Fiddy five 🤣👍🍻
Ebonics
Way to go red power. We had minus 15 Celsius already and a foot of snow ❄️. This week it's gonna be warmer though thank goodness
Yeah we need a meltdown
Wow...old girl pushs pretty good.
Omg lub da cub
Now if you could just find the Front Wheel Assist attachment, you would have it made.
Nice job.
LOL.
I'd be the first lol
You should have changed your oil during a nice day in the fall. You should also put fluid in the rear tires and put the chains on before it snows. It's no fun trying to put chains on after a big snow storm. And you'll never get them on after you get stuck. You'll be looking for something to pull the tractor out of the snow.
Yeah like one of my 9 other tractors
First! 💥
You're right it's always about driver's skill and how you come off the line or how you can come fast or slow slower might get you down the track father faster might not get you out to a full pull it's all about driver's skill
Im a cub sno plow veteran can say 1st you need chains as theres very little weight on rears. 2nd cub has no power to push any amount of sno but is better than plowing with oxen. I now plow in a john deere 4455 200hp heated cab with a loader and havent missed my cub
Dude that is horrible
Great little tractor! Can you unlock the brake pedals and tap one to move the power to the opposite wheel? If so, that might help if you get stuck. Glad we don't have all that snow!!
But it doesn't make good video footage to get out easily AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@@FarmallFanatic I was wondering if you were putting a show on for us. I didn't think you were that bad of an operator. 🧨
LMAO
Nice plowing. Was wondering if you would put weights and Chains on. Was also wondering if tires were loaded. Seemed to work pretty good. If you had of played with the right hand wheel brake, do you think it would of come out easier ? When you were stuck trying to back out. Just wondering. Nice looking tractor and sounding. Love the gear sound of old tractors.
There is no right brake lol
That's one thing I've got to do in the Spring
@@FarmallFanatic oh.
BOOM! Light snow lol. You guys get pounded. We had a little snow, but not much. Less than an inch. That cub does such a great job it's a wonder they quit building them. Coldest November I can remember. The claim global warming, but I just don't see it. I've been hearing it for 50 some years.
They quit building them because there was no money in building a tractor that lasts forever
Saw some wheel weights advertised for sale in SC. Just in case you are making a trip to unthaw.
Probably need to go to Florida lol
At the 1:58 mark I think I heard the tractor shiver. Is there no law against making a tractor work in 19 degree weather? If that Cub decides to run away I want you to know that Kentucky is a sanctuary state against tractors working below freezing. LOL, thank for the video, enjoyed it!
The funny thing is it didn't even know what the temperature was
If you think about the mechanics of these tractors, they’re deigned to work forever!
Yep and all the new stuff is junk
@@FarmallFanatic oh Lord yes! Since when do you have to computerize farm equipment ! It’s a money game!
Was wondering how long it would work before you had a spinning issue backing up lol turned out good. Otherwise, that thing don't make enough heat to keep a mouse warm, let alone melt a hose
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 🤣
Can u put your carryall in the fast hitch and lay some off your suitcase weights in it for added weight untill you can get some wheel weights?
Absolutely
I SEE THE CUB WORKING HARD. LOOKS GREAT. IN THE 20'S HERE😅...OH IT'S COMING 🤪
Warm up today
Like your videos. Just wondering why you don't have any heat housers on any of your tractors. Growing up in Iowa it was regular winter equipment for the winter.
I'm testing my toughness
