- It's day 2 of the Half Century of Progress show! There are 100 Farmall tractors lined up in order, one for each year of production, and I'm going to use them to explain the different generations of Farmall tractors. Later, we brave golf cart chaos to see some plowing and corn harvesting, look at some unusual tractors, and meet Evan & Rebekah from Country View Acres.

Nice seeing Evan and Rebecca. Those two have made their mark on the internet. The dating and history of the Farmall Tractors was a pleasure to watch. Life as it used to be over a century ago with the tools available and the leaving of the plowhorse. Wonderful show and video.

You did well, Pete. The only things I can add are the Farmall waz the first strictly all purpose tractor hence the name FARM ALL. These are a departure from the "Prairie Giants" that first came out to apply brute force to bust the tough prairie sods. In 1923 IHC released 3 lines of tractors. Farmall, McCormick Deering, and International. The Farmall was a tractor designed to push, pull, or carry the implements to do work. McCormick Deering was a Standard tractor designed for busting prairie sod again and generally went to the prairie states and Canada where large open fields were the norm. McCormick Deering was also designed to generally push or pull the implements. International was the the "wildcard" if you will as this was the Industrial line. Think Heavy pushing and pulling.
In about 1948 the Deering name was dropped as the last surviving Deering family member had passed away and the naming slightly streamlined. Then in 1954 the McCormick line stopped refering to the Standard line and streamlined the sales even further. Since the McCormick and International were essentially the same tractor the McCormick line was a subset of the International line which represented all Standard type tractors. The first International 400 that came out, The Standard tractor, created a problem as the owner would go order parts for his International 400 and get Farmall 400 parts which didn't necessarily fit. Within months of the International 400 it was redesignated the International W-400, the W signifying a difference in the Farmall 400 and International 400. I have to assume that the other 100, 200, and 300 had similar issues though not as prevelant as with the big horse at the time. I owned the International "W"-400 that exists and it took me years to figure this clue out.

My grandfather started a 40 acre farm in 1942 with a 1939 Farmall Cub. This past year i tore it down and rebuilt it after sitting for 30 years. Such awesome little machines. Great video!!

Wow the logistics of putting on that show is mind boggling. So many exhibits and organizing the parades and the plowing , harvesting shows - crazy. And you meeting Evan is how we feel meeting you. Very exciting to meet someone that you’ve watched for so long.

Thanks Pete! This sure does bring back memories! We had a Johndeer 4020 a JD 2510 an Oliver 77 Rowcrop International 656 Farmall H Farmall A and B I don’t remember the yrs on em. The Oliver was my favorite I loved that tractor! I now restore Wheelhorse and Cub Cadets. Farming brings our similarities together in a way of life and I wouldn’t trade it at all! ✌🇺🇸

Love seeing all the old school equipment. Hard to imagine the they farmed all the plains with the smaller tractors. Alot more farmers. How many people have told you that they have spent time on the Air Force Base there. Was there in the 80's.
20:52 Good Morning. So many people have never enjoyed the farm life and so many more have never seen in real life how farming gets to the table from the farm. This is one reason I love your channel. You show how where the food comes from. It doesn’t magically appear in the grocers freezer.

my little Farmall A was an absolute gem I never knew what the year was but it cut my firewood tilled my garden plowed my snow and if it got cold enough that my car wouldn't start my A would all ways start with only hand crank it went on the first pull ..I loved it ..!

Lots of inspiration! We have our 1947 M torn apart right now. My son is doing the redo. I would love to completely restore it but my son said let's get it working first. We do need it working again. Your videos are golden.

my dad has a 666 international and its the first tractor i ever drove and will always be my favorite. great machine. he bought it from my grandfather and hopefully one day it's in my shed. we even included it in our wedding.

I watch the canals enjoy the canals I live in Europe myself I grew up in the countryside between the animals, I also transported a lot to the auction and slaughterhouses, keep the farm small, make sure you always remain self-sufficient and can sell part of it to people who appreciate that you are good to the animals and give them a carefree life

When you were taking us through the 100 years of Farmall tractors it still is difficult to pass by the 88 series tractors and have to see the red Case tractor. The end of an era that still brings a tear to my eye.

My grandfather's farm life started with horses and transitioned to the tractor. Oh, how I wish I could have asked him more about that transition. I was farming when the 88 sries came out and dreamed of buying an 86 series tractor, just to have the 06 series platform. 40 years later, amazing how things continue to change. Thank you for all of your video work.

I lived on a farm back in the 60's and we had a Farmall tractor was a good one.
Well at the start of the video I kinda thought I'd get a little bored, NOT!! it turned out to be a hum dinger!. love a lot of the tractors I didn't know they even made. I thought your meet and greet with viewers is great and Love the fact that Evan and Rebecca and you got to meet. I watch both of you all the time. my two most fav. channels. love the "Spreader mo-beel" and of course being ret Army love that flag to death. and the fact that people still applaud it. that means a lot to me. thanks for sharing can't wait till the next once comes along. ECF.

All through these two videos I've been trying to picture the look my granddaughter of 12 would give me if I told her, "We're goin' to a Tractor Show! Allis Chalmers rocks!" I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be typing this comment because I would've been caught in the vortex of a massive eye roll right then and there.
Your kids are on the right track, tho, cuz tractors aren't lame. Tractors helped get that scrumptious meal we just ate onto the table. And they're still working, at least 50 or 60 years later, even a hundred years!
I can't really get into the newer tractors, either, Pete. 🤔 They look like road construction equipment to me.

This coming weekend Labor day we have Cooke County antique tractor and equipment show in Lindsay TX. Equipment parade on Saturday afternoon. Not a compare to Pete and kids adventures but always a good show and some German foods for the folks. Gonna be a hot one!
I love seeing that flag, The first time I saw it was back in the 90's during the first Gulf War. It was raised on a local TV tower here in Farmington, Conn, and was seen as far away as Long Island almost 60 miles away.
