Thanks for the memories. I can remember back in my very young days I was about 12 on a small 4 cylinder Case tractor with a side rake like yours. My Grandfather turned me loose and that was a great life learning at that age but where I was and the time zone only small squares bails Thanks Pete and Hillary for the memoirs.

Howw do you know when the bailer is full?

Nice hay! Is this early for you to cut and bale hay? Our fields in northern Michigan are growing nice this year but won’t be cutting most till the end of June and first part of July. Good job and thanks!

I e never baked round bales, but not much smells better than fresh cut and baked hay. Also never seen the process inside a round baler, thanks for that view.

Great video Pete! I like watching you make hay likely as much as you look like you enjoy making it. It's great looking hay. We used a rake one summer it was like 4 or 5 big round fan things that were angled to make the windrow. It was fun for a teen boy. Mine definitely wasn't as neat as yours Pete. Lol

Back in the mid 80's, while laid off from a factory job, I worked for a guy that did some custom baling. He had a 4250 power shift John Deere, that made it nice for stopping and tying the bale. No clutch ever needed. He also had a New Holland baler with a monitor, that told you when to weave and when to stop to tie. Easiest baling I ever did. It beat the heck out of putting up 12 or 1500 small square bales in a long days work!
