    Excellent. Can you tell what is the controller being used on the bottom LH side of the screen?

    This was outstanding! Thanks especially for explaining the difference in usage between the standard presets and the VelFX presets.
    Meanwhile, I'm curious as to how the Patches are designed to work. I cannot seem to get them to do anything.

      Hi Chaddonal, The patches are simply the articulations that are already loaded when you load a custom preset. If you need help with specific question, please contact us directly with more information: support@vsl.co.at. -Paul

    How did you produce the "triplet measured tremolo" on the intro to this segment? Just bought Synchron Brass! Love it!

      Probably Repetitions, I think that's one of Guy Bacos' great compositions. Great to hear that you like Synchron Brass! Paul

    At 9:09 you use Velocity Crossfade as a volume control? Because no Velocity Crossfade dimensions seem to be active. What is the routing of CC2 such that it controls dynamics?

    • @ViennaSymphonicLibrary
      @ViennaSymphonicLibrary  Před 3 lety

      Seems like that was a glitch when capturing the video... I believe I had to capture video separately back then... and for some reason, Velocity XFade was NOT switched on, although you can hear that it is applied. My apologies. Paul

    Thank you very much.
    I've been using Synchron Player for a few weeks with the Synchron-ized Special Edition and I miss a Vienna Instruments Player feature that I cannot fin in this new player. Perhaps someone can help me.
    In the Vienna Instruments Player version it was possible to change the velocity curve and get better control of the dynamics with a breath controller or the modulation wheel. It was very useful for me to making the sound of any note to start from absolute silence, like a fade in or a fade out.
    With Synchron Player I can't do that, even at the lowest dynamics (0) any pressed note in the keyboard already has a very perceptible volume. I'm forced to use another controller (CC11, for example) in combination with VelXF or my breath controller if I want to simulate a fade in or a fede out of a note.
    Is there any other option that I have not discovered yet to be able to change the velocity curve in the same way that was possible in Vienna Instruments Player?
    I think Vienna Instruments Player allowed more control in this aspect. The dynamics curve was much more editable, I remember being able to change the X and Y axes in a very well represented frame and this was very useful for me to configure my breath controller to change the VelXF in the way I want and get a wider range of dynamics.

      Hi David, you can set the curve in the Control tab, more information here: www.vsl.info/manuals/synchron-player/control-tab

       @Vienna Symphonic Library thank you for the reply. Yes, I know that I can set the curve in the Control tab, but even doing this is not enough to get the results that I was trying to achieve. The VelXF curve can only be set from 0 to 1, but it should be possible to set it in negative values to get the sound even weaker, like it was possible in Vienna Instruments Player. But seems it’s not possible now.

      @@ViennaSymphonicLibrary In this of your videos (min 5:05) you can see what I mean: czcams.com/video/4iIL091YeZk/video.html By changing that velocity curve in Vienna Instruments is possible to obtain a quieter note than is possible now in Synchron Player, and just using VelXF and a wind controller.

    Is it possible to get legato and portamento to work using sustain pedal to connect the notes, as in LASS? I often use one hand for controllers and rely on pedal for polyphonic playing with one hand.

    • @ViennaSymphonicLibrary
      @ViennaSymphonicLibrary  Před 3 lety

      Yes, this is possible for monophonic legatos/portamentos!
      I have not tried it with enabled polyphonic legato mode yet.

      @@ViennaSymphonicLibrary Thanks. Polyphonic legato is where I'd want to have it working with the sustain pedal. I have not found it to work yet, but I am new to learning the Synchron player.

      @@robertkondor263 Yes! And it’s quite easy to do too. In fact I made quick video showing you how, (which I’ll come back and attach a link to after I upload it to my channel). In the example I assumed that you wanted to mimic switching LASS’s auto arranger on and off, and you also wanted to morph between portamento and legato with an expression pedal. You could really get very specific and detailed with this (with ADSR, Humanization, Attack and Release, Legato Blur, Slot XFade, etc.., all which can be controlled via CC), but I’m just going to do a quick setup and let you modify it as you see fit.
      1. In the Synchron Player add a new controller on the Perform page by clicking on the + button on the right side of the GUI after the pre-assigned controllers.
      2. In the Mapped Control Parameters submenu add an available Dimension Controller. I added Dim. Ctrl E.
      3. Once the new fader appears,, click on the name and rename it Leg/Port and assign it to an available CC, (I chose CC4 - you can re-assign your expression pedal and use whatever CC you want).
      4. Click on the Articulation slot controller and assign Dim. Ctrl. E as the controller.
      5. A knob with the CC number you assigned the Dim Ctrl. to will appear. If you move the knob you’ll see how it selects Sustains, Legatos and Portomentos, (like CC30 does in LASS). Those are the CC values you’ll want to aim for with your controller. You could modify this to work better for a live setup by assigning the portamento to legato CC to CC64 and making it an on/off switch (either port or leg), then use a Keyswitch or different CC to switch to long notes (polyphonic leg-ish - true poly leg can be enabled on the Perform page in the Legato Mode menu).
      Your ready to record. The video shows a comparison of the MIDI tracks for LASS and Synchron. There are several ways I can think of doing this, but this should do it. Hope this helps!

      @@robertkondor263 Here you go Robert. Made you a video. There are several ways to achieve what you want but this was the most straight forward. Using a foot controller would be no problem, but here I manually used CC4. Hope this helps. czcams.com/video/2nMh4a1q4qo/video.html

      Synchron Series products are added automatically upon installation. You can manage the sample content in your Vienna Assistant.
