Whoever interested on how Malaysian Muslim executes the burial in this pandemic, you can watch it here:
    czcams.com/video/NCf_P-QRydI/video.html
    P.S
As far as I watch this video, I didn't see anyone complaint about the practice of burial. What they are talking about are the new experience they had to go through impacted from Covid-19. First, there are more deaths, so the mortuary have to be on call 24/7. Second, they can't meet with their parents from the time they were sick till they died. Aside from that, there's lesser time for them to grieve by the body's side.
Like has been said by the last interviewee, Islam do provides flexibility. The practice is not the problem, occurrent death and attending the loved ones are.

It's a tough setting. A virus and a religion's burial process. A relative of mine died during COVID, not of it mind you, and the funeral was difficult as you're only allowed 30 or so people. They were cremated. The wake afterwards was difficult too - hosted at a neighbouring pub where the owners were very bossy about where people could and couldn't go. I get it; I've always worn a mask outside, never broken the rules. It's like the people complaining they can't get married yet because of the virus. IMO the number one task for everyone right now should be to stop the virus so life can return quickly, and no more variants show up. To those wanting to get married you just have to tell them "tough, just wait like the rest of us". And to those wanting funerals that go against scientific anti-viral rules (aka not just government rules because they're racist and bad) you gotta say the same thing but gentler. Needs must right now. My partners a teacher and the virus has hugely impacted our lives - it'll be ages till they work again and we're sacrificing time, money, our decision to wait for the virus to end before having kids, not seeing loved ones in person, etc.
And I hate racists. I'm just throwing that out there. I just fucking hate them. Our social circle have had to ostracise two people for being Trump supporters (They're English to boot!) and holding horribly racist, xenophobic, misogynistic beliefs. Just hate them. Don't know how anyone can be supportive of those terrorists that stormed that US building trying to overthrow a legit and most fairest election of all time.
