    • @shelltalkshair
      @shelltalkshair  Před 2 lety +3

      Hey, it can be for many reasons. I mostly see it’s because people don’t get trims often. Having a lot of split ends can cause hair to frizz up, could also be because the hair is dry and deprived of moisture or you have active sweat glands or the hair is not heat trained. These are some of the reasons this could be why it’s happening.

    • @shelltalkshair

    Beautiful Hair… I have been trying to grow my hair out i have fine thin natural hair my dilemma is I always get a gap in my hair whenever i get a little length the hair that lays on my shoulders is always long where as the hair in the middle(nape area) is extremely shorter. I do wear sock buns often which I believe one of the issues but I have cut my hair even about 4 times and no matter what it always grows with the gap in the back. Is their anything I can do to get it to grow full and even I’m tired of growing it and then cutting? I asked my stylist and she just said my hair probably grows slower in that area which is a possibility but I don’t think that the main issue I’m not sure what to do please help… Thank you!

    Hi! how do you prevent the burnt hair smell when flat ironing it on high heat? I use heat protectants and make sure that my hair is completely dry but it still happens

    Hello !my hair used to always straighten really good with little to no products. I’ve been natural all my life until I mistakenly put a keratin straightening treatment in it which damaged my curls . My curls were gone and I had to regain my coiled curly texture(I’ll say about 3 yrs after the incident). Since then , when I try to do silk presses at home like I used to , it does not straighten the same . It looks like a grandma press . I even use the same type of flatiron you used in your video here and the hair just does not seem to get silky like it used to . What do you suggest I do ? Or what products should I be using ? I Have 3c4a type hair.

      If it’s been 3 years you may still have the keratin treatment on your hair towards the mid shaft and ends depending on how long your hair is. Also, if you have gained a lot of split ends during those 3 years it’ll make your hair appear frizzy, dry and dull. Have you gotten trims and treatment during those 3 years?

    Are you saying you don’t wash your hair for a month? How do you keep it from smelling and from reverting?

    • @shelltalkshair
      @shelltalkshair  Před 2 lety

      Yes about a month but I don’t do this often. I don’t sweat a lot and my hair is trained so I don’t have a problem with it reverting.

    Can I use grapeseed oil as a heat protectant

    • @shelltalkshair
      @shelltalkshair  Před 2 lety +3

      No, You should use a heat protectant that’s formulated to protect your hair from heat. Design essential has some good ones.

      Texture ID heat protectant is really good. I usually silk press on 410 & 450 degrees.
