the way lana invented italy when she wrote salvatore
Ugh her mind
What a goddess
Lana the Creator
Lana invented the universe
Salvatore is my favorite one from honneymoon

@Ashley Roberts Lana, how I hate those guys!
Elijah jk guess you’re lana’s new best friend, high heels in your hands, swaying in the wind
I feel like Lana fans are constantly searching Lana Del Rey reaction
Chrome TRULY. I love when people react like he does (well and with true and real emotion) and I’m constantly looking for people who love her like I do.
We are. Lol
I wish I had a mirror in front of me when I first listen to her to never forget the face I had when I felt marvelled and transported and lifted, and to see it in others people's face kinda makes me come back to that moment a little bit you know what I mean?

HONEYMOON SOUNDS LIKE HOW A MEMORY FEELS

When Salvatore hits you with that chorus.... oooh baby
Ro Ro Absolutely agree ! My favorite song on the album !
Ro Ro it makes me want to drive a motorcycle through Italy at night with a mysterious Italian man I randomly met
Lana has this ability to make you see what she’s singing. Whenever you listen to Lana you gain synesthesia it’s amazing.

Why do I care so much about this mans opinion
Right?!? Hahaha
Fun fact: Radiohead tried to sue Lana for her “Get Free” track on “Lust For Life.” Because they said it sounded like Creep. Lana won and she remains Young and Beautiful
Yeah it was probably Radiohead’s management not Radiohead themselves lol
iirc, they actually settled out of court, might be wrong though. they do sound quite similar
Sam Denenberg she sang “Get Free” in Brazil and she claimed she won the law suit. Think it’s here on CZcams somewhere 🤔
There was no court case, or it wasn't publicized, probably settled out of court. Also I don't think Thom Yorke and company would be trying to crush other artists for money, specially regarding Creep, they're against that tactics as far as I know, it's in their songs, they're criticize capitalism etc. it was probably their publisher Warner the ones that got an issue with Get Free.
Radiohead vs Lana del Rey was something just stupid, I love both, both inspire me and I hated that both fanbases (at least the toxic fans within them) were trying to cancel each other, it was just stupid and not what their music is supposed to be.
SantiRey she said “now that the lawsuit is over...” so she never said she won, or loss, I don’t think it even happened.
This is Lana's "loneliest" album. the production and the lyrics to me feel like she's writing a memoir of a period in her life but is not currently living it (as opposed to Ultraviolence where you can HEAR the anger and feelings she's going through. also that last verse in The Blackest Dat that acts like a bridge to the bridge is very underrated in the sense that she broke the fourth wall. to me it feels like she's crying for help on this verse but by saying "it's not one of those phases i'm going through, or just a song, it's not one of them, i'm on my own", she's saying forget Lana Del Rey. I'm not singing about sadness i'm actually LIVING IT and i'm on my own. BRILLIANT if you ask me😭. also 24 to me is one of the best on the album cause it feels like Lana is playing a role. a role of a bond girl. and to reiterate the "loneliest album" idea, this song is calling for action. she's lonely. she wants a crazy fucked up hedonistic lifestyle she sang about in Ride, but she can't live it. Is it cause of fame? is it cuz of her age? Speaking of fame, that idea is supported by the song High By The Beach where she talks about the papp following her around (check Music Video). This album came 3 years after her debut, it's just now that she's adapting to her fame and status. Maybe that's why she's so lonely. her life must've flipped 180 and knowing the Lana she sang about in Paradise and Born to Die and even Ultraviolence. it's doubtful her personality was made for that secluded lifestyle. Not to give out spoilers but her next Era, Lust For Life, from the beginning was her clinging on to her fun youth lifestyle and that's the whole idea behind it and i think it's not a coincidence it came after Honeymoon. 2 years after Honeymoon, she takes a step forward by taking steps backwards to the life she's lived before and away from the funk she was going through and sang about in Honeymoon.
Wow this comment is beautiful
this is an incredible interpretation of Lana and this album. just beautiful!!!!!!
Ugh i love u!
I have never seen a more clear description about Lana's music. Jon, you have to read this!
I’m amazed at how well you’ve reflected upon this. You must be very in touch with your feelings. Love that 4 U
In High by the Beach, the lyric, "Lights, camera, action. I'll do it on my own" is a nod to one of her unreleased songs called Put Me in a Movie. That one has a lyric, "Lights, camera, action. You know I can't make it on my own." GROWTH!!
I know both songs and i swear i never made that conncetion wow blwon away
All those typos cuz im shook lol
„Lights Camera Action“ is also a reference to the book Lolita, Lana used to reference that story a lot!
jennyB07 everything ties together with Lana and her discography 😊

Fun fact: Salvatore is Adeles favorite song of Lanas

i'm glad you are not Adele nor Lana.
Born to die- in the relationship
Paradise- the break up
Ultraviolence- telling what happened in the relationship
Honeymoon- finally excepting that he's gone
Lust for life- finally finding someone new
Norman F*cking Rockwell- self reflection on her life
(Justin Womack wise words!)
but it's not actually true, there have been different men and different songs about different men, born to die was mostly about her boyfriend before the fame, in ultraviolence some songs are def about Barrie, in honeymoon some too, lust for life theres also g-eazy, nfr is a look back indeed but also some songs about her latest cop boyfriend etc
What about the "Die for me" album??

You passed. As a new Lana fan with your taste in music, I knew if you loved every song on this album on the first listen, it would likely mean you are just doing fan service videos. Now I know you’re being honest. Thanks for being real with us and not just telling us what we want to hear!
To me, this is her most sophisticated album and it TAKES TIME to sink in, just like you said. But even if it never sinks in for you, that’s understandable, it’s almost a different genre entirely.
Accurate
definitely this. i HATED honeymoon when she first released it but now it's my absolute favorite of hers.
Definitely!!! This album needs certain amount of time and interest to be felt truly
Terrence is David Bowie’s brother who died around that time. Lana is singing from David’s perspective
So happy to see someone reacting to the lana del rey albums and taking into account both the lyrics and the production and appreciating both. Would be really good to see you react to some of her videos as she really portrays her artistry well through them. You can also see the way the tone of her music videos changes with the tone of her albums. Cant wait to see more of your reactions 👍

Lana is life
"Radio head creep vibes" .... little does he know..... about the drama on the next album
SamLovesU X 😂 I wanna see what he’ll say when he hears get free
Gabe Llanos he’ll definitely see the genius thing about it also it’s very clear she got the inspiration from the song they shouldn’t have tried to get 100% of the proceeds of the record
😂 😂
@@lucasorlando99 While I dont think she got inspirations from it, I can definitely see a similarity. I just think it was dumb of them sue on the chord progession, something they didnt eeven own in the first place and got sued for years prior
@@samlovesu6941 they didn't sue her, it was their publisher, they're not like that, they're expressedly against corporations/government/capitalism ruining people's lives, and as you mentioned they got in hot water at the beginning of their career for the same song although it was the bridge of that song not the verses, so I don't think they'll be stupid enough to do that to another artist.
The whole drama was stupid and brought the worse of both fandoms, so much toxicity and awful cancel culture when I'm sure both acts just want people to enjoy their music.
Your shirt matches with the album’s aesthetic
It’s a beautiful album. She’s said in interviews she made Honeymoon for herself. It wasn’t meant to be commercial. After all the hell she went through releasing Ultraviolence her record company was probably pissed with this one, Then came Lust For Life, her most commercial album to date. Her record company probably told her to sell out a bit while keeping her aesthetic. She is the most unique voice of this generation. One of a kind!
Not gna talk about how freak goes perfectly into the next track. The ending of freak is the beginning of art deco. I always love when artists do this 😭💗💗
Same with High by the Beach transitioning into Freak 👀 we really got a flawless transition between 3 songs
@@jennyB07 and art deco/burnt norton/religion
Finally someone noticed that!! Freak is real soothing..
actually the songs are all linked from god knows i tried to salvatore (if you listen carefully)
Yes, but nothing beats the transition from adaptation to love in the sky .
Don't skip Lust For Life which is the album after Honeymoon!! Some fans who love Honeymoon the most will tell you to skip it but it is amazing and I think you'd enjoy it a lot. Thanks for the reactions :)
I agree with everything you said (except I feel about Honeymoon the way you feel about God Knows I Tried) except for me this album is sort of like escapism into a land of dreams like, when I have insomnia I put it on and it relaxes me.
I really love Honeymoon as a whole, but the best of Lust for Life (13 Beaches, Cherry, Heroin, Change) beats anything on Honeymoon.
lust for life is her best album
Mark Jeffcoat Nice observation. I’m a big Honeymoon fan, and LFL is by FAR my least fave. I guess it goes to show Lana’s different sonic explorations attract different types of fans.
Honeymoon is my favorite album but lust for life has some amazing songs! Definitely not a skip ❤️✨

I think this album grows on you compared to her others but I love how bluesy and jazzy it is, especially terrence loves you 🌼
It was the opposite with me, I liked it in the first few listens but grew tired of it rather quickly. Can't say the same for all her other iconic albums, except maybe LFL which, like Honeymoon, isn't really that great.
Terrance makes me cry so much! It’s a beaut’

pop down to the country club after🕺
Honeymoon is the most artistic album Lana's made.
I listen to ultraviolence to drown myself and then to honeymoon to lift myself up. Those albums are so connected, they come together in a package. She doesn’t mention most of the reasons why she’s so hurt because she already did in ultraviolence. Ultraviolence is the night of being hurt, and honeymoon is the day after, a honeymoon journey with herself to pick herself up, ( a slow journey, a torturing one just like the sound of the album) though she wished it was with him. Both albums are so heartbreaking.
"Honeymoon" is like letting an an acid-laced sugar cube melt on your tongue on a languid summer day. You never know when the mood, color, or tone will shift. "Burnt Norton" is the first of her "covers" on the album.
Don't let me be misunderstood is a cover. She changed some lines and cut most of original lyrics. BN was inspired by poetry book it isn't a song, sooo don't scam ppl
@@middie1947 Burnt Norton is actually a T.S. Eliot's poem and in my opinion it divides the album in two halves, with the first half being about the past and the second one being about the present and the future. The interlude dealing with the problem of time and literally reciting one of the biggest names in poetry is pretty good sign of how artistic thought she put in this record.
Lazar Bukumirovic I'm not saying it is not. Lana has poet's soul C': And i fully understand concept of the album (fully not, i'm not Lana herself) but i just wanted to emphasize that DLMBM is the cover and BN is the original song written for the the poem. Greetings
isnt blue velvet a cover?
@@moonchild1075 I'm talking about HM, but yes, and The other woman on UV many ppl don't know it either cous it's jazz classic same as DLBM (it was actually in Q. Tarantino movie so it should by widely known)
Terrence Loves You is the most underrated song of the album.
it was actually one of Lana's faves btw :)
Beautiful song. And the story surrounding it with the Bowie reference makes it more interesting
It's my favourite
I can't listen to Terrence loves you without crying.
lol those are the lyrics I drunk texted my ex, "but I lost myself when I lost you"
‘Terrence Loves You’ is actually a quite deep song. Terry is David’s late half brother who suffered from schizophrenia and depression and he actually killed himself at the age of 16, which effected David a lot. Terry introduced David to jazz and blues and it influenced David’s career in many ways
Oh i see someone way beat me to this, but i didn't see it in the top comments and had to make my comment in case no one knew this!
who is david?
@@emagoddess Bowie
Always considered The Blackest Day one of the most depressing songs I've heard lol
But it's so incredible though
Also God knows I tried.
Prob my favourite on the album
The chorus is filled with hopelessness and desperation. Love it so much
Love the reaction, very honest!! HONEYMOON is a masterpiece but definetly requires a mood to fully enjoy it, this is the album I go to whenever I want to "sit in the dark", it's beautiful!!
Also just for your consideration, Lana has told many times that those albums Born to Die, Paradise, Ultraviolence and Honeymoon she made them for her, not thinking about sales, fans, or popularity.
This album has the most magnificent production. The instruments take me away. Every song could be in a movie soundtrack, every song its own scene. It truly is her most underrated album
The vocals on Freak kill me every. Single. Time.
That drop though.
this album makes you feel like you’re flying.
sadly Honeymoon is her most underappreciated album, it's so beautiful and simple yet so complex and carefully crafted it takes you on some kind of journey to the heavens ,honeymoon is the masterpiece
I completely agree with you!
but i can see why some people don’t enjoy it as much as her other albums
When it came out I still listened to UV way more but one year later I fell in love with HM. It's a shame people don't give it a chance
It’s one of my fav albums of her
Its a grower in my opinion at first i didnt like it that much but now its one of my favs💖
Completely agree and i i liked his use of the word “textured” because there are so many subtle layers that bring that texture to her music its stunning
Some day when you'll least expect, you'll start humming honeymoon - then you'll say: hmmm... I'll listen honeymoon again, why not, I have some free time.

I don’t think Lana’s discography would ever be the same in my eyes without Honeymoon. It turned her from a “ok I see what you’re doing” to “wherever you go I’ll be there”. Now for me, everything she releases is a piece of art to be admired and not just a combination of words and instruments to fill an album. I still remember how enchanted I was by Salvatore, and pondered if I was actually in a cult when I listened to freak. The songs were so slow and something that I would turn off if someone else did it but her voice is just different shades of mystery. Fun fact: she’s a witch I think.
Coming to this video and comment many years later, but this comment stood out to me. I loved BTD back in the day and somehow just…never got around to the rest? I’ve been diving into her discography since December, and your comment is exactly what I’ve discovered. Lana is truly driven to make art, not content. She doesn’t care if it’s radio or tour friendly. She doesn’t even really care if you like it. She has a vision that she feels compelled to create, and she does it. Country album coming out this fall? I’m in.
he did NOT just make a connection of her with “Creep” by Radiohead......... if only he knew lmao
it's a sore spot lol
I wouldn’t exactly call Lana “pop” but rather alternative/indie. Anyway, love your reactions!
Dream pop, lofi dowtempo trip hop, goddess music
Finally someone said it!
Lana is pop, get over it. Pop music is amazing and pop artists like Lana don't need to be labelled "alternative" to be taken more seriously.
Bruh she’s pop and there’s nothing wrong with it
She's more than just a pop singer! Her music is more than just pop music so yeah.. 😊
24 was originally meant to be used as the Bond theme track for the 2015 film Spectre before it was passed over for Sam Smith’s song 👍
Ki da glad because writings on the wall is a better song . No hate I just like it more
This and Lust for Life are definitely Lana’s most divisive albums, but I’m glad you can see her artistic choices and the beauty in them. But also we won’t stand for the Florence and the Machine slander, no ma’am no ma’am
He kind of lost me when he said it sounded like something Florence and The Machine would do. Personally I don’t think the song even remotely resembles anything Florence has done.
Honeymoon is so incredibly special. It does require a few listens to fully vibe with, but once you're there it's golden.
That's almost like the reaction i had first time i listened. But i hated for years (mostly because Ultraviolence perfection), till hear it more calmly this year. Suddenly, its the only album i want to hear everyday morning, or on a rainy day.
For me this album is the beginning of her evolving from that sad little broken girl into someone who is confident and sure of what she wants. She had an unreleased song from bevor her born to die days with the lyrics: lights, camera, action u know I cant do it on my own. And then in high by the beach she sings lights, camera, action I'll do it on my own dont need ur money to get me what I want. Character development lol I think the next 2 albums are her best work tho, cant wait for the reactions (srry for any mistakes english isnt my first language)
this album serves as a great transition from ultraviolence to nfr. lust for life is very upbeat summer pop vibes and i feel like it’s not as crucial to the sequel as the rest of her albums. this album is suuuuper underrated in my opinion. ur right about it being her evolution from sad to bad. that fact that i could literally discuss her discography for hours 💀
@@katlyncausey4848 when it comes lfl I think it has some of her worst songs ever on like I just cant get into summer bummer lol srry lana. but it also has some of her best songs ever. The God Knows I Tried reaction was everything 😂
it gave me a fresh outlook to it too tbh, so I agree xx
I was so disappointed listening to this album the day it came out, but it grew on me quickly and I love it well now
Same, I remember when she released some of the tracks like freak and high by the beach before the full album, and thinking "wow this is different but good". Then when the whole album came out, I was so disappointed that I didn't even finish the album. Now after a few listens, I can see where some fans were coming from when they said this was a great album. While it's still my least favorite, it's not a bad album
Can't imagine anyone being disappointed by this album.
The Born to Die album reaction popped up a few weeks ago on my feed, was sceptical about it due to the length of the video, but bro, it took me back.. It filled me up with so much joy. I am generally not very fond of the whole reaction videos concept, but hearing you speak about it so eloquently, and with so much depth - bought me completely. I now catch myself checking if you've released the new Lana reaction video on a daily basis, as if it's fucking Game of Thrones or something. It's almost as if I've been waiting for a long time for someone to talk about Lana's music publicly in such a profound way and really get into it, really share the experiences we are all having when listening to hear music with the world. I honestly don't know why I am so touched by these Lana reaction videos, but currently it's something that I await every week so eagerly.
In regards to this album in particular, for some unknown reason this is the one that really sticks with me. This is the only album I still have fully on my phone. Few years have been since the release of the album and I still sometimes listen to Honeymoon or God knows I tried when I go to the fucking supermarket or on a commute. I don't know if it's only me, but sometimes when I love an artist I am almost sort of like embarrassed to admit that some songs have bored me due to hearing them one too many times, same with Lana, but most of the Honeymoon album I can still listen every day and not get bored. It kind of feels the most intimate so far, when I tell someone that Honeymoon is my favorite album I almost feel like I am telling them something about me that I don't usually share with people.
Thank you for this..

Yay!!!! I cannot wait for your reaction to Norman F****** Rockwell. I think it’s one of the best albums I have ever heard.
im gonna go ahead and say what no one else is saying. you absolutely HAVE to listen to her very first EP "Lizzy Grant AKA Lana Del Rey" it is essential to lana listening
It's so goooooood
Yess, and a couple of her unreleased songs💞
YES! It’s a must.
yess!! Personally I loveeee St. Tropez, Serial Killer, Queen of Disaster and Paradise, sad you can only listen to them in yt :(
Yesss
I can't wait for him to hear Venice Bitch OML
Every time I hear that song I feel like I didn't appreciate it enough the last time I listened to it.
Not going to lie, you impress me with your analysis. You're very right that the album is divisive in the community... but I think the truest of fans appreciate the cinematic nature and incredible songwriting of this standalone project. Her sound never quite sounds the same in any other album. Additionally, 24 was put in for as a Bond soundtrack contender... so you were dead on there.
i’ve been refreshing your channel everyday since the ultraviolence reaction waiting for this and i’m so happy it’s finally here!
Jon’s video will turn any day into the bestest day❤️
Jon listening to Honeymoon album: *"it needs a bit more punch"*
Lana: *hold my Salvatore*
Finally- giving God Knows I Tried the attention it deserves- soooo underrated.
Also Burnt Norton is a T.S. Eliot poem
My favorite album from her, it’s so sad and romantic at the same time
Me too. It’s the album that makes me feel the most.
There r also some songs that arent in albums that r really nice. Should listen to:
- Young and Beautiful
- I Can Fly
- Big Eyes
- Serial Killer
And Once Upon A Dream! 💕
Burning desire
Serial Killer!
he needs to make a video dedicated to non album related content. older songs, single releases, covers, and certain music videos (ride, national anthem, etc.). it’s a lot of content for one video but i feel like it’s really important for the full lana experience
Summer wine

Edit: AND THE WINE !!
I hope you react to Lana’s song Young and Beautiful from The Great Gatsby soundtrack. Truly one of Lana’s best songs.
In my experience I really skipped over ‘Honeymoon’, probably because I never took the time to really listen to it properly. But recently I took the time to listen to it beginning to end, and now I can relate to when I see comments about it being one of her best works of arts. My favorite tracks are Terrence Loves You- love the Space Oddity quote- Religion and Salvatore.
Terrence Loves You is about David Bowie's brother who passed away. (His name was Terry/Terrence)
After reacting to her studio albums, you should do a deep dive of some of her unreleased songs. There's over 300 of them.
Blackest Day is always always breaking my heart just like it did when i first listened to it... One of the very best
«now that he’s gone, i cant feel nothing😞»
I make the same expressions when listening to Lana, that "ouch, my soul" expression. I love Lana so much.
me watching him hate on my favourite album for 33 minutes straight : 🥺
literally me
Funny that you said “24” reminded you of James Bond as it was meant to be in a bond movie but they went with Sam smiths song.
I love you, Jon. I was waiting for you to do this! Honeymoon is a masterpiece.
One of my favourite albums of Lana.
Every album is an entity; her sound is shaped by the record's mood.
Most of her music just draws me in so completely, I can't concentrate on anything but her voice and the music but the slower pace of this album makes it perfect to unwind and go for a late night drive.
