Watching straight men tear up to Lana Del Rey is such an attractive quality...
This is the exact comment I had last week when he was reviewing NFR and he teared up 😍
stop relating sexuality to music! not only gay guys appreciate Lana Del Rey.
It's definitly sexy. 🤭
what a kink
And with a brit accent, perfect!
Never skip the monologue , what a poet
Ikr!
for reaaaaaal
Omgggg yessss
it's an experience
When does her book come outtttt
Towards the end in the monologue she says "I believe in the kindness of strangers" which is a quote from the character Blanche from 'A Streetcar Named Desire." In the play Blanche is a beautiful, middle-aged woman who is afraid of aging, and was known for being with different men. Once exposed, everyone turns on her and she has a breakdown. That line, she says in the arms of a doctor who is taking her away (infront of her own sister who does not try to stop it) to a psychiatric ward. Blanche looks at the doctor, who is actually nice to her unlike everyone else and says "Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers."
I always wondered if she was referencing A Streetcar named Desire
she also refers to it in Carmen, right? "relying on the kindness of strangers"
Sound's like Blanche from The Golden Girls. Such a legend.
Great catch!
I've always thought that Music to Watch Boys to was also a subtle reference to A Streetcar Named Desire. It's not only a song that directly follows the theme of the play, feeling like men come and go despite deep desire and want for them to stay, it also mentions flamingos (like the flamingo hotel where Blanche stays for a while). It's enlightening to realize other references, maybe I'm not crazy after all!
Tropico and National Anthem are ESSENTIAL musicvideos. No one else was doing it like her back then !!!!
Yesssss!!!!!! National anthem makes me cry everytime 😔but i love it!!!!
and still.
Well, that's not actually true. Lady Gaga is also famous for her amazing music videos.
@@erikperhs_ the bridge of this song are better than her whole career sorry
@@Titanicrising211 Irrelevant to the discussion. We're talking about creative music videos.
you can’t skip the monologue even if you wanted to. its addictive
its an experience you can't skip it
It makes me cry every time.
I remember when I used to be so obsessed with this monologue that as an English major in university I would casually throw in bits of her phrasing, “dashed and divided”; “chameleon soul”; “inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean” into essays. I just loved her so much-this video inspired my whole life aesthetic despite not being an American 😂 desire for freedom is universal ❤️
Omg I feel a sudden surge of affection for you
THIS IS SO REALLL I CANT WAIT TO FIND OUT THE SAME WHEN I GET TI COLLEGE AND MAJOR IN ENGLISH
Ride is such a masterpiece
the video makes me cry every time
@@rebeccathomas7857 SAME
there are two kinds of people in this world, the “she’s hot” people and the “the video makes me cry every time” people
@@user77797
Actually I checked both boxes.
You hit the nail on the head. You got emotional because, sure, it isn't necessarily her actions that we relate to, but rather the reasons behind them that we so can. It is about that desperate need to figure out who you are, feeling like a chameleon because there are so many possibilities. This often leads to decisions that many would deem as crazy, but you knew you needed to experience it to discover something about yourself that was hiding in the dark, just waiting to be shown. You getting emotional made me emotional and brought me back to when I saw Ride for the very first time. I thought the same thing as you, that it is absolutely one of the best music videos of ALL time, and I still think it to this day. Simply beautiful reaction.
Agreed! 💯
Wow I couldn’t of said it better 🙌🏼 especially the Chamaeleon part about so many possibilities to be... who you are and who you could be
This! When I watched the video for the first time it was also the first time I heard the song. I can't relate with the exact actions itself, nor is English my first language, but the feelings emoted in the monologue, in the song and in conjunction with the video made me cry a lot. I felt so much and connected to it on a deep level. I still get very emotional when I listen to the song or watch the video and the monologue always hits me as hard as the first time.
Beautifully said
So beautifully said 🙌🤍
TROPICO is a must. Just saying
!!!!!!
Was just about to write that we need a reaction to Tropico!
Definitely
You took the words out of my mouth!!! 💕💕
I second this
The short film Tropico does have music- it has three songs. That would be an amazing one to do.
Yesss
yessss
YES!! 👏
Yess
absolutely!!
This is my favorite reaction channel, this guy really understands Lana.
I am claiming it. JON DENTON WILL CRY WHEN HE WATCHES *CHELSEA HOTEL NO 2* by Lana Del Rey
Hell yeah, who wouldn't !
E. Cruz nah
The ride monologue and video also makes me very emotional , I relate to some of the things she’s saying , it hits home.
I BALL every time like I mean full fledge ugly cryin fb
Samantha Puleo dude same af 😂
Or hits no home as she would say
@@samanthapuleo7812 Same, I ugly cry every time lol
I just feel she’s really misinterpreted, the media pushes the storyline of her trying to glamorise what they call the anti feminist women (self destructive) like ‘Marilyn Monroe’ etc but I think she was trying to giving a voice to those women and to humanise the women tend to be demonised by society when they are people in pain and are just trying to live ... and that’s why you got emotional, you have empathy Jon!
I'll make it short for you:
BORN TO DIE
NATIONAL ANTHEM (& asap Rocky)
TROPICO (the short film)
these three are what everyone is waiting for
yes
BLUE JEANS TOOO
if ride doesn’t play at my funeral then i’m not dying
I know I’m late but this made my day. Same, girl, same.
REACT TO NATIONAL ANTHEM!!!
@@mranonymous3479 yes
lana del rey is a master of this style, she completely lives the character in her music.
I got teary-eyed again too, it's okay, it just brings up emotions deep inside our soul that our daily busy brain has buried, it's okay. ❤️
When he started crying....I did too
I’m reliving those moments of discovery and belongingness through your reactions. What a blessing it is to be able to experience her universe for the very first time in the biased and overcrowded internet era.. Don’t take her for granted, she’s one of a kind. ❤️
P.S. I hope that one day I’ll be “big” enough to see you react to my music on your channel. You’re one of the few reaction youtubers that I truly respect and follow religiously.
@@IndigotheSirens I think that if you sign up to his patreon, he will listen to your music and will give his opinion 😄
A cinematic masterpiece
You need to do every single one of her videos!! We will watch them all
Can't wait for you to react to Young & Beautiful! :)
Visually “Born to die” is amazing.. but honestly “Ride” is such a piece of art in between the monologue and the video. You really can’t go wrong with Lana🤷🏻♀️
You need to react to National Anthem with A$ap Rocky
like RIGHT NOW
I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATION PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO ALL HER MUSIC VIDEOS ❤
Hayder Ferid yes!!!
NATIONAL ANTHEM
same
Most of her videos take the songs to a different level and the imagery plays a huge role on how the music impacts you. It's crazy. You should react to West Coast, Shades of Cool, Music to Watch Boys To and The Greatest music videos. Tropico is a must for Jon since he loved Gods and Monsters. :)
Except for Tropico, all the songs you mentioned have some of the most boring musicvideos she‘s ever put out tho ☹️
@@jennyB07 I loveeee west coasr, it looks how the song sounds, and she looks so amazing in the chorus
i love the fact that your whole reaction to this video is UNCUT. this is how all reaction videos must be like, but i know thats not possible cause of the copyrights :S
You need to watch the MV to National Anthiem by her it’s so good. I believe you would love it.
Jon, that's why you are one of the best reaction youtubers, raw honest emotion, what an Artist Lana is.
You should definitely watch all her videos, but I do think that Shades of Cool has an amazing music video. Especially because it just fits so so soooo well with the song. If you're done with the music videos, I'll be waiting for you to react to her live performances 🤓💛
National Anthem should be next!
OBVIOUSLY
Lana has the power to make a straight men to feel like wanting to run away and be some old random man's mistress doing drugs and travelling, i feel you
This video makes me wanna quit my job and join a biker gang
Omg same 😭😭
you should
Same
What an idea
I use to hear this song in my darkest days back in my teen days and I also got emotional because this song helped escape and keep going. I love this song even if it brings back my worst days. it's a bitter sweet feeling
This music video inspired me to leave Australia and go to America, road tripping through the canyons all alone whilst blaring the monologue to the video in a loop under the starry night. I’ll never forget that
I'm proud
@jondenton U NEED TO REACT TO TROPICO.... IT'S A MUST.... Its a short Film by Lana and its amazing everyone drop a like if u agree
"And when I'm at war with myself, I ride. I just ride" In that moment she's riding the man, dude. Such a mind blowing line!
The music video makes the song 1000x times better imo
National Anthem is my favorite music video of hers!
Jon NEEDS to reacto to NATIONAL ANTHEM
Lucas Marker Agreed! Jon please do!
I have borderline personality disorder and this song and the poetry sums up my life as a teen / young woman. I cried the first time I watched it too. It's so nice watching people listen to lana for the first time and recognise how utterly brilliant she is. Brilliant.
"I am fucking crazy...but I'm free" ♡
The 1st time I heard this song I got chills and my breath was taken away
Great to see Macklemore supporting Lana Del Rey!
omg fkdmrkekekwkrkoroe
Damn you. Now I can't get that image out of my head.
lmao nnnnnnn
Lana never puts out a video just for the sake of it. They always add context to the songs. Love her for that!
Lana’s short film Tropico does have music it features 3 songs off of Paradise edition. It’s a must see for sure! Will be mind blown.
Every time I wanna show one of my bf’s a song that means a lot to me I always show them this video and expect an answer like this man had. I want them to feel the same way I felt when I saw the ride music video and I think this is the first time I ever saw a guy have the same reaction as me. Thank you for this reaction video Im happy someone saw how amazing this video was, and no matter how many times I watch it I still cry😂❤️
do a.k.a Lizzy Grant. It is her very 1st album/project. Absolutely revolutionary.
we need more lana reactions
I hope he listens to her unreleased stuff too! Even her Heart Shaped Box cover from 2013!
The videos for Born To Die and Blue Jeans are some of her best.
TROPICO totally brings her music to a completely different level
Every fucking time I see this masterpiece of a music video I cry, everytime
Give this man a like for being not afraid to show his emotions & appreciation for Lana. We stan Jon Denton 🤩👍🏼
seeing you respond so emotionally is so raw, thank you for sharing such intimate moments with us. "Ride" is hauntingly beautiful. Keep up the Lana content!! :) Please check out Tropico as well!
I wanna see the "pretty woman" movie remake starring Lana Del Rey!
It will be great, but not the same ending, Lana isn't looking her "prince charming", she won't let someone else save her, she won't falling in love with the guy. She will rather find her way by herself.
National anthem next plz😍
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

National anthem, born to die, freak, high by the beach, west coast what those videos
This song can make us cry but also make us feel lighter like a trip in the sky
I always felt like this song was a metaphor for “just keep going”. When your mind is not at peace, you feel that conflict even more so when you’re stagnant. You shut down, and get lost in the battles with the different demons and traumas from your past. Most people go for walks, or go work out, to “let off some steam”, but this song just paints the picture of finding that release on the road. Maybe a car ride may do it for some, but the rush of the wind, the feeling of flying is incomparable. The various men in the video are also seeking the same release, an escape from whatever torments them. A chance to feel uninhibited, and not alone; be it anonymously with a lover, or in a crowd of others who create the safe-space for them to do so. Her melancholy and loneliness ultimately follow her with every man, every situation she found herself in, but these moments were a surge of electricity for her. Momentary, maybe, but always looking for more. In constant danger of finding more trouble. Risky, but thrilling. Crazy. The dichotomy of freedom and being shackled to a fight within us we so vehemently run from. For her, freedom is in those moments. On that bike. With those men. With those road dogs. In the open air, her issues gone with the wind.
We all have our escapes, our releases. We all get tired of feeling fucking crazy. That’s why this song resonates. A reminder to just ride.
National Anthem and Fuck It I Love You/The Greatest next perhaps? :) Absolutely love your reactions.
I have been waiting for this one, yesss sad bit*h hour, let’s goooo.
Young and beautiful next! Or i can fly
This song saved me more than anyone ever could have. I still listen to it daily. It's not just a song to me it's medicine. . It's like someone reached in to my head heart and soul and word by word started me again. This was my favourite reaction to it ever as you seemed to get it. I have the words "I'm tired of feeling like I'm fucking crazy" on me now on my body. And the words of the whole thing imprinted in my DNA
Thank you xx
I can only ever listen to the song with the full monologue. It’s too beautiful too miss. Every time I hear this song it takes me to that place. So grateful I get to be here the same time as Lana.
I LIVE FOR THESE VIDEOS 💖 Thank you so much for uploading these reviews of Lana. She's still so underrated, but I'm glad you gave her a chance 🥺❤
And also national anthem ranked 8 by billboard’s ranking for the best music videos of the last decade and 11 by the rolling stones. It’s really incredible.
I love watching you listen to lana cause you know how to appreciate and feel music
YESS more Queen Lana content I never clicked on a video so fast 😂

YES
TROPICO reaction next?? 😭
„it takes getting everything you ever wanted and then losing it, to know what true freedom is“ I got goosebumps all over again
This reaction was everything! You tearing up hit me it’s great seeing raw emotion. Can’t wait for you to see more Lana Del Rey music videos especially Born To Die, National Anthem, Love and more she is something else!
This was posted on my birthday! You have no idea how much i love this song and mv and seeing you get so emotional on this is simply amazing! 💕
Been really enjoying your videos, love how you notice more then just the voice and a catchy beat
ur reactions are really geniune man, keep going!!
This is my all time favorite piece of film ever created! I have ‘chameleon soul’ tattooed on my arm from the monologue. She just knows how to stir something deep inside of you and speak to your soul.
I’ve loved watching you react to all her albums and now videos, she’s an incredible artist through and through and it’s so cool to watch someone experience it all for the first time 🖤
yayy!! i’ve been waiting for this !!!😊
I love that you saw the beauty and complete work of art this video is. It is one of the best videos of all time thank you for acknowledging that!
It's so stunning and wonderful to see someone reacting to this video and song as a work of art, and not trying to work out how much of it is 'real' or 'authentic'. There is a lot that I think you noticed on this video that is symbolic and adds to the artistry - the interchangability of the men; the way that Lana is centred constantly in the images; the way that every character in the video is supportive of her as a human. The other two videos that go really deep into this territory are 'National Anthem' and 'Tropico' (which is 3 songs from Paradise turned into a mini movie). I can't wait to see you react to those too.
I agree. This is an intricately carved little story/video that gets down to the heart level. Basic wants and needs. Beautifully done.
I loved this reaction and agree that while I can't personally relate to some of Lana's songs, she can make me feel like I do. That is what's so special about her music, it makes you feel
Your reaction made me so emotional I almost cried. When I saw you starting to get emotional I almost lost it clicked away. So pure and so excellent and true to your emotions ohmyghod. This is the Lana Del Rey experience I had 7 years ago. I to cried.
so happy you reacted to this!!
Lana makes everyone cry. It’s okay. Feel it. 🥰
This was a wonderful reaction. Love that you had the same near-emotional experience I did the first time I watched this.
Right there with you buddy. If only I had filmed my first reaction to watching this. Such a powerful and beautiful video and song.
Top reaction as always. :) As for getting emotional - I always have to cry at the monologues whenever I watch this clip, don't exactly why but the words and Lana#s voice really gets me in my feelings here. For me it's her best song and best video.
This hands down will forever be my favourite LDR song and video because of the stand out passionate monologue! It taps into my soul like no other! It’s relatable yet tragic yet still hopeful… fml only LDR can do this like this! Your reactions are keeping me sane! Ty for showing LDR the love & credit she deserves 🙌🙏💕
In this hard times your videos make me feel accompanied, thank u so much for this quality content
This is the song that made me fall in love with Lana, such a powerful song and powerful video. Really glad you experienced this video
i’m so happy you reacted to it 😭
This was great, thank you ❤️❤️ think you'll love Tropico!
You’ve reacted the best...i really loved it,i like how you appreciate the song
You are into for such a treat with her videos! Almost all of them are a well thought out, high production, cinematic experiences. Tropico is mindblowingly good and Freak is worth a watch too. Whatever you choose from her repertoire you probably won’t go wrong. Young and beautiful is a soundtrack to Great Gatsby, I can’t remember if it’s on her albums and if you’ve heard it, but if you haven’t you should. It’s a nice video too.
You absolutely have to react to the “Tropico” and “National Anthem” music videos. They’re both lengthier, but truly ART
The most I love is your reaction in every moment of the video. Priceless 😍
I'm so happy you watched this video. I cry ever time, that monologue always gets me in tears.
