- This was a 2015 TDI that I worked on, it had power issues and a large variety of problems that included:
18149 - Clutch Pressure Adaptation
p1741 - 002 Limit Reached
We changed out the transmission, now the codes for the transmission were solved, but we had no power.
Nice find and thanks for sharing hard earned insight, it should help others in the TDI world.
Nice find after a frustrating few months.... it's amazing how a problem like this can niggle at you as you know everything should be working and it just doesn't. Now go have a beer :D
◇Update◇
Thank you so much after blocking the car restored full power. The car was already remapped for egr off.
Thank you buddy for this video 👍✊️

I have a car skoda with same engine same problem no boost under 2k rpm no dtc. I don't know how I missed checking the egr valve.
I'll give it a look and update this post here
Hi Was this the problem?
Yes definitely that was the problem.
This guy is a legend.
Today I have Audi A3 8V with loss of power after like 30 seconds of first start of the car no dtc on the scanner. These EA288 have some well made issues. Thanks VW for making our life miserable.
This audi you have full power the first 30 second from first start and drive after it completely loss power sometimes even the acceleration pedal doesn't respond very very sluggish. It had a remap before. First thing I did is fitting another ecu same part number with immobiliser deactivated same damn problem.
If you did a egr/maf test it would show up as egr open all the time.
VW don’t like to make it easy. My 2004 Golf 2.0 gas engine, would not spin pass 3100 rpm and had 5 codes. The problem was a bad temp sensor.
Do you know what the differences are between CRUA and DEJA? I think this was the last variant of the engine before disappearing from the market. 🤔
This is an under appreciated video. Awesome find!
Happy you found the issue
So the EGR is there, front of the engine. Great video, thanks! I have a 2019 Golf 7, 1.6 TDI. Car accelerates great I think but I have a error P040100 insufficient EGR flow and DPF regeneration occurs often. What should I do, clean DPF, SCR and EGR or buy a new EGR? Everoyne said that the EGR is on the back side of the engine, below DPF and very difficult to take off but in this video you showed where it actually is. My engine has the exact same intercooler like yours.
on the this new ea 288 the egr it's together with the dpf and it's cooled with coolant, this it's the piece from front on the engine it's just the valve, if this it's locked then the egr it's also almost blocked and must be clean or replace, if u do this then better clean also the dpf
Great job guys!!
At what mileage did things happen?
Did you delete it 😁🇺🇸
Shhh 🤫🤫🤫
No, installing a new EGR valve, they are surprisingly inexpensive
@@TuneMyEuro how much?
I did the same thing upgraded my turbo to cr190 and have the same damn problem
but unfortunately my EGR is all good
