Scammed in Indonesia's Oldest Port 🇮🇩

  • Sunda Kelapa is the old port of Jakarta. I heard that you can actually jump on a local boat and go to a village and also see the old wooden boats that are still in use.
    Upon my arrival I met a friendly man that showed the way but it turned out he was only friendly to then charge me 25 euro for a 1 hour guided tour. I kindly declined and went my own way.
    I got invited on a taxi boat from a local man and after some confusion he charged me 200k Indonesian Rupiah which was definitely way too high but I wasn't in the mood to cause any drama so I paid and left.
    After that I conquered my fear to get on a wooden schooner and got shown around there by the captain.
    It was all a once in a lifetime experience!

    According to CNBC Indonesia, in 2050, Around 90% of Jakarta is predicted to sink, especially the northern part.
    There are two main factors that cause Jakarta to potentially sink, first, sea level rise and second excessive use of groundwater which causes land subsidence.

    • @miokaya4595
      @miokaya4595 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Kinda wrong.
      90% sink is only North Jakarta, not Whole Jakarta.
      So its will just 10-20% of all Jakarta that will sink in 2050

      The relocation of Indonesia's capital is not certain, because it takes much time and a lot of money. but in many articles said that it will be relocated in mid of 2024.
      if you are still in indonesia and you have much time, try to go there in Muara baru, North Jakarta. You will see a mosque ( Wal Adhuna) which is currently almost drowned because of the high water level, or you can see its picture or video on google or youtube. and the most part teribble is the residents' houses which are located right edge on the beach, they only made a dike wall to keep sea water from entering their houses 😰

    brother if you want to go to random place like suburbs of the city of Jakarta or another city in indonesia in future, make sure to keep using google translate as your guide to speak to the locals especially for them who have less education because many of them cant speak english at all like on this video, it could be the real price to taking you around with boat about 20.000 - 50.000 IDR. i am quite sure the guy who taking you around with boat was defenitely misunderstandings about the indonesian amount money in english, he got langguage barrier. i think the guy who has the boat was also did a big mistake he just said yeah yeah but he doesnt understand what tim said to him 😑 . another time if you wanna asking for price to the locals who doesnt understand english at all you can show them the amount of money in Rupiah after that make a bargaining.
