    Love the hum of those old Škodas. I remember that they'd produce quite a bit of audio interference when listening to music on a portable cassette player!

    Quite surprising to see old Škodas still run in Vilnius 😯 Haven't seen these relics in Tallinn for years!

    Спасибо за видео из Вильнюса! :)
    Совсем недавно привезли первые две Шкоды 32Тр. Планируют запустить в августе, а до этого каждую неделю будет приезжать по 4-5 троллейбусов

    Так-так, чэхаславацкія старэнькія тралейбусы, 1980-х гадоў выпуску. Яшчэ бегаюць. Я аднойчы ў такім ехаў і ён загарэўся ў Каралінішках.

    Отличное видео) В Вильнюсе как раз готовится масштабное обновление машин, так что возможно, это последний год, когда можно увидеть много стареньких 14tr на улицах. Да и атмосфера такая приятная на улицах царит, возможно из-за того, что с погодой повезло.
    Заинтересовала реклама борщевого фестиваля на 1:20 на троллейбусе, интересно, что он из себя представляет, просто дегустация для всех желающих?

    Скоро, уже в конце этого 2024 лета на улицы выйдут 20 новых троллейбусов Škoda 32 Tr. А в 2025 году поступят ещё 70 новых Škoda 32 Tr. А Чехословацкие уйдут в историю. Уходит эпоха, но старые троллейбусы давно уже надо было заменить у нас в Вильнюсе.

    It's hard to understand why they are letting the old Skoda 14TRs go through the city center/old town. There are plenty of newer trolleybuses on other routes, so why not swap them with the old ones? It's an easy way to improve the city's image, at least with tourists and visitors.

      Noķert īsus trolejbusus (14Tr/14TrM) ir ļoti viegli (kamēr ir), bet garus 15Tr visticamāk sanāks tikai darbdienās (ja viņi vispār strādās vasaras laikā). 🙂

    36:00 Interesting, I thought that was a thing in Riga too? Atleast the "Pieturas" app does show the location and the vehicle number of the bus. It works well here too

    • @Aviationvlad
      @Aviationvlad  Před měsícem

      Riga has it as well, there are "Pieturas" and "Timey" apps. Vehicle number is very useful :)
      In Vilnius, I haven't yet found an app/website to track the vehicle ID, this would be very nice for public transport enthusiasts. But as for regular passengers, the current existing map with live locations is also very helpful :) I just enjoy exploring the evolution of public transport information systems :)

    • @n2e913
      @n2e913 Před měsícem

      You can track the vehicle number in the same app, you need to select download region as Lithuania in the app's settings. It will be quite useful if you come back here

  • @oldbusfan796

    Good Video! Why is the trolleybus at 35:24 green? Is it because of the ad on the side, or is it a borrowed trolleybus from Kaunas? How many days were you away to get in Vilnius and back to home? I'm asking, because I plan to go to Vilnius again this year. Last year I was in Vilnius and Krakkow, but I was five days in Warsaw too, to go over. 11 days were to long for me, but it looks like it would take 10 days to go Poznan and VIlnius too. Do you know where is the site of all Bus and Trolleybus Lines? I would see all the Lines and its timetables, to know with which Line I were and which I not. Vilnius is very far from Hungary, but I liked it there and when I was last year the journey was great and I was energetic at that time. I would like to know on which Lines the most Skoda trolleys are. It is sad, that the old Skodas will go out of service this year. :(((((((((

    • @Aviationvlad
      @Aviationvlad  Před měsícem

      Thanks! :)
      - The trolleybus on 35:24 simply has a green advertisement livery, it did not operate in Kaunas previously.
      - I spent some 24 hours in Vilnius + 8 hours of driving to Vilnius and back (from Riga). I came primarily to "catch" Škodas, but if you have a bit more time, Vilnius is actually very nice place to visit.
      - You can see all timetables AND vehicles on the map here => stops.lt/vilnius . This is quite useful when you try to navigate.
      Yeah, there's not much time left until old Škodas are taken out of service... Gotta ride them while they still exist!

      @@AviationvladSadly you missed the illusive Škoda 9Tr. It doesn’t actually run outside of special events but its home is usually at the 3rd Trolleybus depot on žolyno g. nearish Antakalnio Poliklinika (clinic), its almost always parked outside, its really quite nice looking.
      As for the green trolleybus, that is an advertisement for a drink called Aloe Vera. It has a green bottle, I assume because Aloe comes from a green plant.
      And finally yes, advertisements on trolleybuses are very common which makes perfect sense. A lot of people use public transport and the routes are usually long and go through very populated areas, so the advertising potential is rather large.

    • @oldbusfan796
      @oldbusfan796 Před měsícem

      Yes, this is the reason, because I want to go here again, because this city has qouite many Skodas, but they will be taken out of service. I liked it there last year, because the Buses and Trolleybuses are diverse, and there isn't an official seat carpet type on the Buses and Trolleybus, like in Budapest. Last year, I spent 2 days there with riding, on the third day, I gone back to Warsaw, and then I went to Krakkow. But one think I like to change, the hotel room. Last year I was with my dad at Stotis, near the railway Station at a hotel. The Hotel was a bit too old, the beds weren't seperated, and the room hadn't had an own bathroom, which sucked. And the fact, that I had to share the bathroom at 11 days trip last year literally in every hotel made the journey a really bad end. So, I hope, that Vilnius has hotel, in which rooms have own bathrooms, and hopefully it isn't expensive too. I know FlacidTetris from VIlnius, but sadly he didn't answered the two questions, that I have left, When the new Skodas will start, and how will it affect the service of the old Skodas, and on which Trolleybus Lines are the most high-floor Skodas. Last year I was with only 2 Skoda 14 Tr Trolleybuses, on both days seperated, and this year I want to ride with more Skodas. I mean, Vilnius is basically the last city with Skoda 14Tr Trolleybuses in the world, and these trolleybuses are the reason, Vilnius is interesting for me. After, or before I will go to Poznan, too, so it will be like a 10 day-journey for me.
